When we say "California-Style Beach Food" we mean the whole coast of California - from a Mendocino County food truck to Los Angeles health food to the best of Baja California!
We serve it up wholesome, fast, and with lots of love inside.
So grab some friends, throw some surfboards into your old VW microbus, take an imaginary drive down the coast –
"Cause at Playa Betty’s there’s always great food, cold drinks and summer never ends…"
It would be a better experience with this Californian food if weather was nicer . For cold day .. food was too cold .. but delicious.
Great outdoor seating space, the bowls are delicious and healhty but the service was very slow even though it was pretty empty today.
Carne asada tacos were decent however my order came out wrong it was missing one of the toppings. By the time they got it to me my tacos were cold. Waitress was slow and probably had too many tables because she did not check in with us we had to flag her down each time we needed something. Overall I give it a 3.5 but would be willing to try them once more to see if I get a better experience
Went on Taco Tuesday. Place was packed! Not exactly gourmet dining but this is real fun food. Sampled a variety of tacos - all good. Enjoyed the cocktails too.
Great date spot. Enjoyed a fun and fast meal before a show. Shared the wings which were sweet and not spicy and had the Baja fish tacos which were delicious. A very lively spot with good service and food. Would definitely go back.
Love going to Playa Betty’s, the food is always on point, and even when I wanted to try something different it was delicious.
First time to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. It was a Tuesday Ishtar and the place was packed. Server was overwhelmed and both beverage and food service was a disaster. Food was fine.
Great food, great environment. Slow service. Had to ask our waiter about the happy hour/taco tuesday specials and he seemed a little reluctant to answer, im guessing he was trying to get us to pay normal price to make a bigger tip
A family friendly restaurant with vegan and gluten free menu options. Their guacamole with toppings was a big hit and allowed us to make guacamole exactly to our taste.
my companion train was late and i stopped at the hostess /host station to let them know. They were very accommodating and told me to check back when he arrived. he arrived 20 minutes late and er were seated immediately. we had a show to make so we were grateful for the .
My friend and I sat outside on a nice day, we had bottomless brunch and tacos! We enjoyed ourselves so much. The service was quick and very attentive.
It was our first time here and had a crowd on a Wednesday night, which could be an indicator of good food. The food and service was good, but when we paid the bill in cash we were given the wrong change back. At first we thought there was an automatic gratuity taken out but this was not the case. Our waitress didn’t seem to care much, which leads me to believe that this ‘mistake’ may happen often.
First time there & had a lovely time meeting with old friends. Relaxed atmosphere, good food & fun time.
It was amazing 😉 can’t wait to revisit 🤗🤗🤗
Made a reservation. Arrived 2 minutes before. Was sat down and wasn’t brought water or even acknowledged for about 20 minutes. I didn’t say anything because it was a Sunday and i figured there was a lot going on... there wasn’t. A whole section was empty.
A table came in then and was attended to within what felt like seconds. I got up to ask the hostess if we were assigned anyone to help us out. She apologized and then the same gentleman that helped the table that came in after we did came by.
I believe the manager came by after and asked if we ordered drink (which we had) and then said they were on them because we waited so long and apologized. Once we finished our meal we asked for our check and asked for one more round of drinks (we got bottomless sangria). The waiter came by about 15 minutes later and just slapped the bill on the table, no drinks. They also charged us for oue drinks, but at this point, i just wanted to pay my tab and leave so I didn’t point it out. We then waited another 12-15 minutes before he picked it up and charged me.
The food isn’t fantastic, the sangria was good, but the service was slow and inconsistent. Will not be returning.
1st Time at Playa Betty's and was pleased we took the Change. Great Comfort Food at a Great Price. Very Convenient with the Comedy Club downstairs - Great Date Night!
Excellent food. Great Atmosphere. Little bit too loud but other than that, awesome place for dinner.
Paloma margarita for $12 bucks was to small for the price. Fish tacos were good. Nice colorful place, outdoor seating was a plus
I've always had a good time there. The drinks are well priced, the tacos are good. I wasn't sold on the chicken taco but it wasnt bad either. The chips and guac were on point. I probably stop by again in the future.
Very good food, just loud!
a good addition to the neighborhood- always fun and the food is good too.
Really delicious but very loud
Saturday brunch after a Friday overnight in Manhattan. Brought our bags with us so we could hit Playa Betty’s on our way out of town! 3rd visit, always a fun time and excellent food. The Paloma margaritas are amazing! We’ll be back soon.
We love Playa Betty's!!!
Playa Betty's is our go to restaurant whenever we make it back into the city. Even when it's lunch and we're salivating for a Haas taco and the amazing corn on the cobb, and they're not on the lunch menu, they will always make it for us! The wait staff is always great and so are the margharitas!!! Dining al fresco is always fun on Saturday mornings, too. Love Playa Betty's- We can't wait to get back soon!!!
Ambience was wonderful! Lively, colorful with great outdoor seating as well. However, the service was awful and it was hard to get the waiter to come over to our table. The pineapple margarita was so-so and I expect a much tastier and colder drink especially on Margarita Monday. We ordered the Guacamole which came with many sides to add into it. It was odd to get Guacamole that lacked taste and needed salt AND lemon to make it anything more than mashed avocado dip. The fish taco was tasty as was the salad. Unfortunately I found the food to be just so-so and lacking flavor.
Great drinks margarita Monday’s. Great place to eat before a concert at the Beacon. Very close. Fun, friendly vibe. Tacos were good.
I wasn’t too fond of their bottomless brunch. Their Carne taco had a weird smell and couldn’t even finish it. The interior is super cute and also the service was awesome however, won’t be going back.
My absolute favorite place to go in NYC! Great happy hour deals and fantastic queso and tacos.
Burritos? Perfect. Margaritas? Perfect. As always, a good meal and just what we craved.
Great guacamole. Enchiladas and steak burrito was bland and lacking flavor. Cool as a cucumber drink seemed to be vodka and Mountain Dew.
Bottomless mimosas were worth it! Tacos and salads were pretty good too and everything was reasonably priced.
Fun Fun Fun
Casual, upbeat festive atmosphere. Very loud, not the music, the people. Good food.
Fabulous restaurant for a catchup with friends, great service and wonderfully friendly and helpful staff.
Great! Food was awesome, drinks were great and outdoor seating was perfect
Business is good & the food is good - it’s a taco place & it’s messy eating. In spite of that our server was very friendly & very attentive. We eat out most days a week but don’t eat a lot in super casual places like Betty’s - but we’ll be back again soon enough.
Good food, but noisy and not much space. Great, fast and friendly service. The menu has a lot of variety and great vegetarian options.
Great tacos. Slow service. Napkins shed.
The concept was good - taco Tuesday and $3 tacos. The food was cold, the drinks mediocre at best, and the worst part? All three of us got sick to our stomachs. I'd never eat there again.
Great IPA on tap, chicken enchiladas were awesome, and so were the Baja tacos. Food is consistently good at Playa’s.
