We serve it up wholesome, fast, and with lots of love inside.

"Cause at Playa Betty’s there’s always great food, cold drinks and summer never ends…"
A great place before going to the Beacon theater. Great margaritas.
we love coming to playa betty’s! super casual with a great price point. so many yummy options on both the brunch & dinner menu!
I went to Playa Betty's with my brother and his 16 y.o. son. Perfect ambience for us, energetic yet casual. The chips and queso were a big hit. My brother and nephew each had a taco platter and shared the churro ice cream, and enjoyed their full meal. I had chicken enchiladas suizas. The chicken was a little dry, and as "suizas", I was expecting, but didn't get, cheese. Service was excellent and I would go here again--and next time order tacos.
Great food, very friendly and quick service. The vegan “ish” taco was amazing!
We loved Playa Betty's! My husband and I needed a place to grab dinner before a show at the Beacon Theatre, and I came across Playa Betty's in my research of the area. It's a beautiful, spacious restaurant with such a fun vibe and great atmosphere and decor. The food was delicious, and very reasonably priced! Plus, it's only a two-minute walk from the theater! Definitely recommend trying out Playa Betty's if you're in the area.
Amazing food and service. Churro ice cream sandwich was a hit!
The food is good and reasonably priced. The servers are friendly. It can be loud.
Also beware even if you confirm your Open Table reservation upon arrival they may not follow through notifying OT that you kept it.
A great deal of vegan options and the vegan enchilada I had was delicious!
A good place for some pre-concert tequilas, with an assortment of delicious selections in a vibrant setting!
It’s always amazing. I love this place!
Great menu -- many options for a vegetarian, delicious guacamole (the true test) -- loved all of the add-ins. Service was great and reservations was honored in a timely way. Reservation a must -- very busy!
Even though I had reservations the employees at the front desk would not seat you until all your party were in the building. It's a taco place but for the price of food & drinks I expected better than what I & the person I was with received. Steak on the taco was fatty & charred. The chicken on the taco my friend ordered was burnt. I have to say the bartenders were great! I give it a fair.
Servers and wait staff were EXCELLENT. Always tough to have a nice meal on concert days at the Beacon Theatre. Servers were on top of everything- special requests, etc. We had a large party and the waiter was very patient with the extra requests.
Great and fun food and drinks in a lively atmosphere—excellent wait staff...very upbeat and helpful. And don’t miss the killer churro ice cream sandwich!! And there is a separate family/kids area that makes this a better choice for everyone.
One of taco Tuesday deals around! Superb fish, delicious Portabello mushrooms, great Carne, fantastic chicken Jamaican or Southern! Something for everyone!
It took almost an hour to get our food. Three separate parties sat down around us and were served before us. Our waitress didn’t even notice that our food never came and we had to call her over twice because the first time she forgot that we asked her to check on it. She never apologized for the delay or offered up an explanation. Then she disappeared for a good half hour after the food came, never coming to check on us, and it took us forever to find her to get a check.
Even though we booked in advance, we were seated at a communal table. It was very noisy! The DIY guacamole lacked flavor or any salt. I can make better guacamole. The sangria tasted like cough syrup. Tacos were ok. Very cheap.
Such great service at the bar and at our table, thank you! The food is the real deal, like SoCal Mexican, fresh and delicious. Bar was out of my first 2 tequila choices but I got what I needed!
Loved it and would go back. The reason for my less
Than stellar review is the female bartender . I found her rude and condescending. She rolled her eyes. I Would not want to be waited on her again.
I already emailed the restaurant management. We have consistent issues with one of their female bartenders... quite rude & inattentive! If we chose Playa Betty’s for dinner, in the midst of many other neighborhood Mexican spots, we shouldn’t be treated like ordering more drinks & food are a burden to our bartender.
a miserably mediocre meal and as a result overpriced as well - our waitress was the only thing of value there - I fear for our future if this mistake of a restaurant survives much longer - this was the worst place to have my wife's Birthday meal before Steely Dan at the Beacon - I could make better guac, tacos & churros with my eyes closed - I hope they can make things better there but who knows
It would be a better experience with this Californian food if weather was nicer . For cold day .. food was too cold .. but delicious.
Great outdoor seating space, the bowls are delicious and healhty but the service was very slow even though it was pretty empty today.
Carne asada tacos were decent however my order came out wrong it was missing one of the toppings. By the time they got it to me my tacos were cold. Waitress was slow and probably had too many tables because she did not check in with us we had to flag her down each time we needed something. Overall I give it a 3.5 but would be willing to try them once more to see if I get a better experience
Went on Taco Tuesday. Place was packed! Not exactly gourmet dining but this is real fun food. Sampled a variety of tacos - all good. Enjoyed the cocktails too.
Great date spot. Enjoyed a fun and fast meal before a show. Shared the wings which were sweet and not spicy and had the Baja fish tacos which were delicious. A very lively spot with good service and food. Would definitely go back.
Love going to Playa Betty’s, the food is always on point, and even when I wanted to try something different it was delicious.
First time to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. It was a Tuesday Ishtar and the place was packed. Server was overwhelmed and both beverage and food service was a disaster. Food was fine.
Great food, great environment. Slow service. Had to ask our waiter about the happy hour/taco tuesday specials and he seemed a little reluctant to answer, im guessing he was trying to get us to pay normal price to make a bigger tip
A family friendly restaurant with vegan and gluten free menu options. Their guacamole with toppings was a big hit and allowed us to make guacamole exactly to our taste.
my companion train was late and i stopped at the hostess /host station to let them know. They were very accommodating and told me to check back when he arrived. he arrived 20 minutes late and er were seated immediately. we had a show to make so we were grateful for the .
My friend and I sat outside on a nice day, we had bottomless brunch and tacos! We enjoyed ourselves so much. The service was quick and very attentive.
It was our first time here and had a crowd on a Wednesday night, which could be an indicator of good food. The food and service was good, but when we paid the bill in cash we were given the wrong change back. At first we thought there was an automatic gratuity taken out but this was not the case. Our waitress didn’t seem to care much, which leads me to believe that this ‘mistake’ may happen often.
First time there & had a lovely time meeting with old friends. Relaxed atmosphere, good food & fun time.
It was amazing 😉 can’t wait to revisit 🤗🤗🤗
Made a reservation. Arrived 2 minutes before. Was sat down and wasn’t brought water or even acknowledged for about 20 minutes. I didn’t say anything because it was a Sunday and i figured there was a lot going on... there wasn’t. A whole section was empty.
A table came in then and was attended to within what felt like seconds. I got up to ask the hostess if we were assigned anyone to help us out. She apologized and then the same gentleman that helped the table that came in after we did came by.
I believe the manager came by after and asked if we ordered drink (which we had) and then said they were on them because we waited so long and apologized. Once we finished our meal we asked for our check and asked for one more round of drinks (we got bottomless sangria). The waiter came by about 15 minutes later and just slapped the bill on the table, no drinks. They also charged us for oue drinks, but at this point, i just wanted to pay my tab and leave so I didn’t point it out. We then waited another 12-15 minutes before he picked it up and charged me.
The food isn’t fantastic, the sangria was good, but the service was slow and inconsistent. Will not be returning.
1st Time at Playa Betty's and was pleased we took the Change. Great Comfort Food at a Great Price. Very Convenient with the Comedy Club downstairs - Great Date Night!
Excellent food. Great Atmosphere. Little bit too loud but other than that, awesome place for dinner.
Paloma margarita for $12 bucks was to small for the price. Fish tacos were good. Nice colorful place, outdoor seating was a plus
I've always had a good time there. The drinks are well priced, the tacos are good. I wasn't sold on the chicken taco but it wasnt bad either. The chips and guac were on point. I probably stop by again in the future.
