Plateia at UCLA
Everything is excellent at Plateia! The staff, food, service, and ambiance! I highly recommend this place!
We’ve been here many times. This time was disappointing: my squash soup was barely lukewarm and I had to flag someone to bring a spoon with which I could eat the soup; when the plates were cleared from the first course the person left one large plate one the table.
The food was good, as always, although it seems that the prices increased.
Still “the only game in town“ if attending an evening event on campus. And the setting is quite nice.
Ambiance is outstanding. We sat on the patio and it is truly a lovely space. Lighting and landscaping are beautiful!
Service horrendous. Our waiter didn't appear tableside at the usual intervals in a timely way: to welcome/greet/offer drinks; to take our order; to bring the order; to check on how is the food; to see if wanted coffee/dessert; to offer the check, etc. Because we were scheduled to attend a play with a hard start time, we grew weary of waiting for the check so my friend walked inside to track down our waiter. He told me he observed a group of waiters all standing around in a cluster inside the restaurant where there were few diners, while the patio was full of diners, with no attendance in site.
Food: fresh and flavorful. I ordered the small Greek salad with added chicken. It arrived in the tiniest of bowls and filled to the brim. Because the chicken pieces needed to be cut to bite size, it was virtually impossible to do in this overfull bowl so I asked for a dinner plate and ended up transferring the entire salad to a plate, much more practical!
Wonderful place for lunch or dinner with friends or colleagues. Food is delicious and the staff is wonderful with an outstanding service. Highly recommend Plateia and will go back soon.
Every dish was outstanding. Group of friends drove two hours to eat at Plateia and they all were astounded. Service was amazing, ambiance was classy and refined... 10/10!
The menu offers a good variety of selections. All that I have tried have been excellent. The outside area is especially pleasant, assuming the weather is good.
A fine on campus restaurant.
Plateia is truly one of the hidden gems of Los Angeles! Very elevated dishes without the elevated prices. We frequently go for lunch and dinner and they never disappoint. And the menu changes quite often which is great. Chef Jeromy and his team do a wonderful job!
Amazing food and service, absolutely stunning location/ambiance! 100% recommend.

Food and selection was great
Service - waiter/waitresses were very pleasant, but the food took forever to be served. We were getting late for the photo, so had to “wolf”it down.
Server, Julia, was phenomenal. And the fresh fruit dessert was very tasty.
Food is always good but the service is always so slow. We were never checked on and I had to find our server to receive the check. This is a problem I always experience at Plateia.
As a convenience for people who need a place near UCLA, this restaurant is a fine addition to the campus. However the service was far less than adequate. It took ages before a server came to ask if we wanted drinks, then ages to get them. Poorly explained, the right side of the wine list includes a very limited number of wine choices. On the left, there's a choice of "cask" wines, in 9 oz, half-liter, and liter quantities. Our first waitress said the RIGHT side of the wine list was a 9 oz pour -- when I received my pinot noir, it was far less than 9 oz, and the new waiter (whom we had to recruit since the female server who was supposed to be with us was nowhere to be found) said that information was incorrect. The food was good, the outdoor ambiance is good, the planters are amazingly populated with succulents. Interior is very noisy. Overall I am not impressed and only if pressed would I return to dine here.
Impressed with the food and the service. We would have preferred to be outside but as a party of 8 they could not accommodate that. However we felt out of the way of other diners and so there seemed a lack of ambience. Overall would recommend
THIS IS A HIDDEN GREAT DINING AREA. THE MAIN ISSUE IS PARKING BECAUSE IT IS ABSURD TO SPEND AN ADDITION 9-12 DOLLARS ON TOP OF FOOD, AND IT IS A PRETTY LONG WALK FROM THE VILLAGE.
Three old friends met and the staff were understanding of us taking our time. The hostess was very welcoming and remembered my name when we left. Our waiter was very personable and helpful. The food was great. This is very convenient for UCLA staff!!
Food and service were very good. Setting was excellent.
This is a lovely location for both lunch and dinner with an amazing selection for food & drinks. The service is impeccable. Will go back and highly recommend Plateia.
I have been here multiple times since it opened , the food and ambiance is excellent, the service is always bad , wish they would correct this problem

Awesome gem at UCLA. Best veggie burger and best burgers we ever had. Cocktails are delicious - don't miss the old fashioned with walnut bitters. Save room for the brown butter toffee gelato - so good! Beautiful and private outdoor patio is the perfect setting.
I have been to Plateia several times for dinner; but Sunday, 7/21/19, was the second time for lunch and it was such a lovely day outside and Daniel, our Server, was so patient with my Cousin and I as we caught up over two delicious Mimosas. Then my cousin had the Greek Salad and I had the wonderful chicken and avocado sandwich with an order of french fries I shared with my cousin. The afternoon was perfect and the beauty of the outdoors in combination with the excellent service and food made it a "win, win". I can hardly wait to return again.
Hello MichealR, Thank you so much for taking the time to review and rate your visit. Its always great to hear a positive feedback from our guests. Thanks Plateia Restaurant
Remarkably nice place for a university conference center. Food is excellent.... maybe a bit pricey for lunch, but I would do it again. Quite noisy inside. Outside patio seating might be a better choice, but totally dependent on the weather.
A very unique place, food is creative and good. Sat near the bar and the crowd was very noisy. One of our part ordered a hamburger and it was cold; she didn't send it back. Everyone else's meal was fine
This restaurant is part of UCLA's Luskin Conference center. In pleasant surroundings, indoor or out, you can have a variety of delicious soups, salads, sandwiches and mains.
We had a private event and the location, food and price were great.
Plateia is the best restaurant in Westwood and the UCLA community is so lucky to have this well run and elegant facility to partake in excellent food and service. The salmon is out of this world and for lunch I had the juicy hamburger with salad and coffee. The bar area is a great spot to have a drink before or after Plateia. I recommend Robert to serve you in the evenings as he is excellent. I look forward to another invitation again to Plateia.
as usual, very attentive staff and food very tasty, with good selection
very nice interior for both restaurant and bar. Was suprisingly quiet. We didn’t have to talk over neighboring tables like we do in many restaurants.
Our reservation was at 5pm and we arrived at 4:50pm. They said I'd have to wait until 5 since our server wasn't on the floor working yet. Although there were other people there eating and other servers working, I guess it is strange to have employees work for the benefit of the restaurant generally. They must be table specific.
Also, we ordered food. Then we were asked, after placing the first order, if we wanted to see the happy hour menu. On that list were some of the same items. Seems we should have seen those prices first before ordering the regular menu priced items.
But all that said, the food was great and the service attentive and the cocktail fantastic and the wine delicious. So overall, it was a great meal. The kitchen here knows what they are doing. And the floor staff was very attentive after we sat down to eat.
Loved the soft shell crab sandwich. Thanks for switching up the menu.
The food and service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
Excellent venue within UCLA’s Luskin Conference Center. Great place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner meetings for UCLA conferences.
Waited 90 minutes for food.
Nothing came - so we walked out and told manager the drinks were on the house- thanks not so much.
Lovely evening! Great service. Greek Salad was tasty, but a bit too many cucumbers for me!
Plateia is the perfect place for any occasion! The food, atmosphere, location and service cannot be beat!
I happen to visit this restaurant frequently and when I have guests I like to show off the beautiful area. First people you see are warm and friendly, outside seating is exceptional when it is not cold and dreary weather wise. Yellowtail and salmon are great not over cooked. Salatim is a great first course. Waiters are attentive and it is a great experience on dining. A new menu would also be anticipated so dining experience does not get boring.
Plateia was a very nice surprise. The food was delicious and our servers were attentive but never intrusive. The restaurant is very spacious and pretty. I bet during the graduation season this place may be busy, but on Saturday evening before our play at the Geffen it was quiet and we got to really enjoy our meal and conversation.
Overall this was a lovely restaurant. For the future, the bar was extremely lively, many UCLA conference goers watched basketball, enjoying drinks - so would suggest eating there. The restaurant was very good and nice, just the seats were odd. All chairs were beautiful carved wood but hard to sit on - no cushions and straight bottom base and not that comfortable, and the banquets backrest were 90 degree angle straight up again hard to sit. Very strange since the finishes were high end, and the entire conference center is stunning. It seemed like the interior designer was a conference specialist not a restaurant designer. The food was good, my salmon was good, no starch just a few veggies, and cooked in butter so not lots of flavor. The veggie and regular burgers and fries looks amazing. The large green salad for $17 was overpriced, and the tricolor salad was good. Dessert of chocolate cake was just ok, and the ice cream the same. The staff was amazing - very attentive. The outdoor space looked stunning, just no real heat lamps so better in the summer. Overall strongly recommend trying this restaurant and for sure the bar!
Wonderful food and an interesting menu. Service staff are very nice but they need to be better trained to provide better service.
