   From start to finish I thoroughly enjoyed the service from our waiter Ifi or Iwi .. it’s a short name beginning with I . He was very attentive and thank you . The chef from Sicily came out to speak to us about the food asked us questions and as for the food it’s absolutely delicious . One of Windsors best restaurants at the moment . Great sharing plates . Thank you

   We were staying overnight in Park Street, and chose to book here through Opentable - when we arrived at 6:30pm we were given a table by the front door which meant one of us had to sit upright without a back support / cushion, like sitting on a bar stool - we asked to move and this was agreed without issue - Starters of Scallops and Croquettes were excellent, Halibut main was also excellent, Fillet steak was two strip cuts, one was perfect the other had a sinew running all the way through it - which I’ve never experienced in all the years I’ve been eating Fillet Steak. We ordered deserts, and my Cannoli, specifically the filling, was nothing like a Cannoli from Italy, I work for an Italian company and visit there almost monthly, if an Italian ate the Cannoli here I think they would be insulted! We did not ask for a deduction on our £170 bill (table of two) for any of these issues, we paid full price as it’s a small restaurant with a small number of covers. Wishing the restaurant all the best, would encourage them to improve their offer to justify the price point for the clientele they are trying to attract.

   A real gem in Windsor!! The passion and the talent of the chef are obvious and it makes all the difference! The service was great too! Very attentive and yet left us the space to have our moment. I never had so many freshly made ingredients (bread, butter, cheese etc) Definitely go try it!! The chef has changed so don’t trust the latest reviews as its a completely different place now!

    This was our 2nd visit to Plate no 6 On arrival we were shown a table. It took 15 mins for food menus to arrive. Our waiter apologised and said he was “distracted”. Odd. We asked for a jug of water and a drinks menu. Both didn’t arrive and nobody came to see us or take an order. We left - there were 2/3 people in the bar area. They apologised but made no attempt to persuade us to stay. The original waiter was no longer there. Clearly something wasn’t right. It’s a shame as we are locals and Windsor doesn’t have enough original places that will attract people to come back vs one visit tourists.

    Food was very tasty but very small. Average presentation. The sharing platter consists of 3 prawns for 12.50 that's expensive. What do you do? Split the last prawn? Could at least give you 2 each. Service was appalling, almost laughable. I think the chef new as he could see our table from the pass, so he gave us free desserts. I like him, but not enough to go again. Oh... music was good. Old funk and soul.

    Lovely as always! The whole menu is perfect for sharing and we went with a vegan and they were happy too, although I do think they could offer a couple more vegan choices as it was a bit limited. The food is mediterranean influenced and although quite small the restaurant itself is perfectly formed with a laid back, grown up vibe. Great for date nights, with a friend or smallish groups. We paid £260 for 4 of us with a bottle of wine and 4 cocktails Windsor had been lacking decent, independent restaurants for a long time but in the last couple of year's thankfully several have opened up but this is one is still definitely one of my favourites.

    This was our first visit to Plate at No. 6, and we loved it. The decor is simple and comfortable; the staff were very friendly and efficient; the food was delicious, and the Rioja was special. The only slight disappointment was the coffee; the double espresso had a great taste but was barely luke warm. We mentioned this when we paid, and were given an explanation but not an apology. The decaf flat white tasted good, but had far too much froth on top. It is a measure of our overall enjoyment of this fabulous place that the coffee was the only thing not completely perfect. We will be back.

    Second time at this restaurant, the first time was fantastic, this time sadly the service was sadly lacking. While the waitress was lovely and super friendly there seemed to be a huge problem actually getting our food. It took almost an hour to get our food and two tables that arrived much later than us were both served first. Scallops were cold, truffle mash was more like thick soup. Very tasty, but disappointing vs the price point.

    The food was all delicious. We had scallops, smoked bruschetta, black ink gnocchi, and beef tortelinni. We couldn't fault the taste of any of it. The food was served at just the right temperature and the service was efficient. The restaurant had a nice ambience. The only criticism is the front door. We were sitting directly beside it and it wasn't weighted in anyway. This meant that several times during the meal, the front door was flung open hitting the side of my husband's seat and bouncing back. Luckily he was sitting still at the time, had he been moving he would have been taken out by the door!

    Tricky to review Plate no6 such were the extremes. Arrived for a 2:30 lunch only to be greeted with the news that some (it turned out MOST) of the dishes were off the menu. Did we want to stay? Mutterings of ‘bad management’ from the under pressure but willing staff. A scrap of paper listed the items not available, it ran to 2 pages. After a 4 hour car journey we weren’t in a position to be choosy. We shared the tiger prawns starter and had tortellini ragu for main. And a glass of Italian red each. So despite all the shortcomings, the food was magnificent. And the staff were humble, apologetic and respectful.

    Super place. Made even better by brilliant bar and restaurant staff. Friendly, accommodating and helpful. Lovely food, and reasonably priced. Great atmosphere. Fab cocktail menu. Only slight negative would be ridiculous price of the wine.

    Lovely location just moments from the Castle. Around 30-40 covers. Nice decor and good atmosphere. Staff were very friendly, knowledgable and prompt. Food was exceptional. We had the Octopus for main which was cooked perfectly and presented wonderfully. We followed this with a Tiramisu and Apple pie. The pie looked perfect and was easily the best Apple pie I’ve eaten. Would happily recommend.

    Giving our friends from the North a tour of Windsor at this time of year was tricky because of all the Christmas parties block booking the larger restaurants, but being a more intimate venue and still not so well known yet, Plate at no6 found us a table at the time to suit us and it is in my opinion the best place to eat in Windsor right now. Food was remarkable, love the sharing plates so you don’t feel overwhelmed with quantity it was all beautifully presented and clearly cooked with care and attention to detail. Everything tastes fresh and the quality ingredients shine through. Well done Plate, only my second visit but I’m going to be a regular. Thanks for serving Cava, way preferable to Prosecco and the cocktails were killer.

    This is the third time I have been here over the past year and the food is really delicious. It’s a sharing concept and it works well with a few friends. The menu is small but I like that. I will definitely be back.

    The food was terrific. Unfortunately the service was very slow, and not very well done. We did not receive refills of drinks, we had pre-ordered food for our group of 6 and no one had the information, and our check was incorrect.

    Really enjoyed- its something just a bit different (Mediterrean Meze sharing starters). Our food was delicious and there is a great wine list (though they ran out of both Rose wines). Lovely to be in The Lanes area too, rather than the main drag of the High Street. Will definitely return.

    Overall we felt like a nuisance. Gruffly told by some bloke in there to grab a seat anywhere when we arrived. Had to get up & ask for a menu/drink after we sat down as the chef & waitress were having a chat. Had to ask for the menu to be explained as it was hard to work out the premise based on the Tapas style menu. We opted for the Brunch Menu to share, they didn't have 2 out of the 9 items, and 1 of the 3 desserts was not available. Food arrived, some was tepid, 1 was hot, had to ask for 1 item to be reheated. Patatas Bravas was chips covered in a bland pink sauce(!?) We didn't stay for dessert.
