This restaurant is a bit more upscale than most on LBI but not overly so - still very casual. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food was very good. And loved the chairs - so comfortable! There is a large bar in addition to the dining room.
Everyone's food was excellent. My friend and I shared two entrees and the kitchen plated our halves ( of scallops and crab cake) beautifully.
Everything was great. Good service. Excellent Food
The food was very good. We were in a very tight spot tho and my husband is tall so it wasn’t ideal for him. Our waitress was nice but kept attending to all other tables around her and never us. Never got asked if everything was ok, more drinks etc. We were there for the pre fix menu during restaurant week so prices were decent. I would go back for the food but hopefully next time service is a little better
Will definitely return!!
Always a winner! Our "go-to" restaurant year-round on LBI!
Service was special. We love their New Enland clam chowder but on this day it was way off. Thin and salty but that was the first time we ever had a negative comment about it. Will return.
It was our first visit to Plantation. We tried it because it was part of restaurant week. My husband ordered the mussels in white sauce for an appetizer. It was delicious!! I had the mixed greens with goat cheese salad. Would have preferred the mussels in hindsight! We both enjoyed our dinner...portions were a little small but being we had appetizers, dinner and dessert on the fixed menu for restaurant week, we were ok. I ordered the pecan bread pudding dessert with salted caramel and bourbon ice cream. Best dessert ever!!! Had a great waitress and overall excellent service. Menu is a bit pricey but food is very good.
My husband and I go quite often. It’s a great local place with good food and drink. The waitstaff there is professional and courteous. Great place!
We had a great time. The food was very good and our waitress was wonderful. Will definitely go again.
Went for New Year Eve. The only negative would be that we barely finished our appy & they were at the table with our dinner. The appy plates were still on table & we had to move them so the dinner plates could be set down. That was a little rushed.
We had a wonderful evening with friends. Food was wonderful and presented well.
Our evening was made special by our server Andrea. She was attentive, professional but also so kind and friendly that she very much enhanced our experience.
$18 burger and fries very average, $40 strip steak grissal, lump crab cakes seemed to be not to lump but ground, pasta dish very average. 2 beers and a coke came to $180. That's over the top for a very average meal. Friendly and attentive service. Steady decline in what was once top 5 choices on LBI.
Dinner was average at best. Food was not hot and although in the off season wait staff left us feeling rushed. Needed to deflect their “will there be anything else” line several times. On a positive had been there for apps and drinks before and it was good. For the price, this place should know better
Such great wait staff and front desk help. Food is always good. They really try and make it a good experience.
Had dinner last Sat night 6:30 reservation and had a very enjoyable time. The table I requested was ready for my arrival. Service was very professional and pleasant at all times. The food was excellent and fairly priced. This and the Black Whale are my favorite restaurants and I am a local. Will go back in the very near future.
A relaxing atmosphere, friendly efficient service, great food, and awesome desserts.
The food and service was excellent!! It was our second time here and we'll definitely be coming back!!
The food was great however I wish they could do something about the noise level. We sat in the room off the bar and it was very difficult to hear the conversation.
Went with my daughter Saturday. Everything was excellent, waiter was very professional and courteous. We both had the beef cooked to perfection and the sweet potato soup was incredible. One of the best places on the island. I am a local, not a tourist. Give it a try, you will not be dissapointed. Bob
All around awesome place to eat!!! Best meal I had the entire vacation.
Started with an amazing Martini with blue cheese and bacon stuffed olives.
We were there for an early lunch on a Saturday and ordered "light."
The Caesar salad with scallops was very fresh and filling. My bacon wrapped scallops and short rib wontons combined for a delightful lunch choice. We will definitely be returning when ww are hungrier!!
Very noisy bar scene service was terrible waited 45 minutes to actually get our food will not return to this one!
My husband and I had yet another amazing meal at The Plantation while on our "minimoon" after our recent wedding this past week, which is not surprising as The Plantation and Chef Jeff's dishes have yet to disappoint our palates! We tried an assortment of Apps (Tuna nachos, short rib wontons, scallops & a pork belly slider that were ALL out of this world). Our main entrees (scallops over a bacon and pea risotto for myself and medium rare ribeye steak for my husband) were cooked to perfection and the flavors amazing. We managed to find some room to share the pecan bread pudding with homemade bourbon icecream for dessert and it was Oh so worth it! Phenomenal job all, service and food were perfect and we were raving about everything!
Lively and noisy room, big, well-attended bar, but conversation not a struggle.
Prompt and attentive service, good beer, yummy local scallops on risotto.
Live music from Allison and her keyboard was an unexpected but welcome surprise
for Wed-night off-season!
Awesome food , great server , will be back, thank you.
Hadn't been to plantation since it changed from The Owl Tree. Will definitely be back.
Some of the dishes we ordered were great; others were not. One diner found the chicken quesadilla to be inedible because the barely-any-chicken was ground up into tiny pieces. Our biggest complaint was that it was so noisy we could barely have conversation at out table for four at 6:30 p.m.
Always a great time at the "PLANT"!!!
Chelsea greets us at the door with a warm smile. She's the BEST!!!!
Waiter Scott & waitress Lacy are our favorites!!! Friendly, courteous & attentive people!!! Food is awesome as are the cocktails. We come here EVERY week!!!
LOVE THIS PLACE ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Food and service is good, but for the price charge, underwhelming. Would not visit again.
Great food but service a little sketchy....fun environment- nice bar....incredible bread pudding desert
Excellent food, presentation and service. Will definitely visit again.
Apps were good. Nice presentation. Main course too. Good flow to dinner. Never felt rushed. Nice serving staff. Very attentive.
First time here. Service was good but food was mediocre at best. I had chicken w/bbq sauce, collards, cornbread and I ordered a side of whipped potatoes. The chicken was moist but I took the fatty skin off and there wasn't much bbq flavor. The collards were so tough they were impossible to eat. They had bacon stirred into them but they had not been cooked with the bacon the way they should be. There was nothing "whipped" about the potatoes. They were lumpy as could be. At best I might call them smashed but even at that the lumpy bits were too undercooked to eat. Cornbread was sweet. Nothing special, especially since there was nothing really to eat it with. Waitress brought me another side (grilled asparagus) but it was just as bad or worse than the collards - tough and woody - very undercooked. Horrible.
The fried calamari appetizer was okay but the cocktail sauce was not good. Husband had clam chowder and he said it was terrible. He didn't say anything at the table but when we left he said his salmon entree was overcooked. He said the only good thing about his meal was the 2 or 3 raviolis underneath the salmon.
Funny thing is that they are a sister restaurant to Tucker's Tavern and Tucker's is hands down the better restaurant.
At Plantation - $100 including tip and no drinks, after I asked them to remove the extra side dish which was $7, for very mediocre food - I don't think so. We won't be back.
I only get here once or twice a year, but it's a great place with good food. Love the clam chowder.
The noise level was unacceptable and made it very uncomfortable !
Our dinner was not only yummy but delightful! Upon arriving for our reservation we were unhappy with the seating, but the manager that evening, Chelsea, was fabulous. She was quick to fix the problem and made sure our time there was beyond pleasant. I can't say enough good things about her, her service, her attitude, her passion for the job.
Our waitress Kimberly was exceptional. She assisted with our choices and saw to it that our dining experience was superior. Her knowledge of the menu and contagious smile made the evening all the more enjoyable.
We had the scallop entree on the menu as well as the scallop special. DELICIOUS! The clam chowder was to die for as were the pork dumplings and calamari. For desert we had the bread pudding and the key lime pie which I would highly recommend both.
Bottom line, the meal was great, the location noisy but pleasant, I would reccomend going to anyone as it is well worth the trip!
We went as a dinner date to celebrate end of great vacation. Goid drinks and good food. We enjoyed our dinner.
Generally a good setting. On this ocassion the bar on the second floor was loaded with an over enthusiastic crowd. Since we were seated on the second floor it was an overwhelming noise level where we could not here one another. Management acknowledged the noise level but did nothing to alleviate the burden. After several lunch and dinner trips, I find this to be disappointing. On this night, Plantation was a Bar that was serving food.
From the moment you walk into Plantation, you feel transported to another world! The decor. lighting, and overall ambiance remind you literally of a home you might find in Savannah, Georgia. The PEI mussels were incredible, and highly recommended as an appetizer. I had the grilled salmon with kale ravioli, which was cooked perfectly and the perfect portion size. My partner had the diver scallops (locally caught - 6 of them included for the entree portion, this is also an appetizer choice). Following a low-carb diet, we requested that the risotto be replaced with collard greens and thick-cut bacon, and the restaurant graciously honored this request. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a romantic meal with high-quality food. I think this restaurant is more suited for adults than young children/families.
