A bit noisy
Server was not good at all.
Must have been new or short staffed.
Cocktail was not correct. Waited so long to get his attention. Drank what was served.
Main course come while we still had appetizer and dirty plates.
Waited over 20 minutes to pay bill. Tried to give server my CC when he dropped off check.
Felt sort for the server. Appeared others were helping him.
Food is consistently very good. Service is always great.
We have been to the Plantation Restaurant many times in summer and winter since its opening and have never been disappointed. The staff is always exceptional in service and the food fresh, delicious and creative.
Great as usual!
Plantation was fabulous! Hadn’t been there in a few years and had heard it was not so good anymore. We were all pleasantly surprised- we ordered 2 appetizers- rock shrimp and tuns nachos. Both were great! Tuna was very fresh. I had crab cakes for dinner- they were amazing! 3 crab cakes came on a bed of fresh spinach with tomato corn salsa and crispy shoestring potatoes on top. Yum! My husband had scallops and our daughter had shrimp scampi with bucatini and zucchini noodles. Everyone loved their dinners. We’ll be back!
Nice nostalgic place but way overpriced service service is slow and understaffed. Food was pretty good. .
Food was ok I wouldn’t say great. Prices little to high for a bar like atmosphere.
Thought it would be more romantic to take my wife. But it was loud and were seated right next to the bar.
The four of us were seated in the upstairs dining room. Our table was located in the center of the room. The wait staff was attentive, but we could hardly hold a conversation with the other couple with us due to the noise level. There were times we just stopped trying to communicate with each other. One table in particular seemed to be having a contest to see who could talk the loudest over the others,
Great appetizers. Live music andlve th decor!
Last night of vacation.
Food excellent, service good, but salad and dinner served at the same time.
Always impressed with the staff. We go there with our grandchildren often ages 5-3, 5 of them in total, in different groupings and the friendly willingness to accommodate each time is as good if not better than the food and the food is Top Notch. We usually are seated upstairs which is great since they gave rest rooms up there as well and with little ones it really helps. This time, Francesca was our server and she did all she could to help while serving us professionally. She even got a crayon drawing from our youngest grandchild as we were leaving. Thanks for another great night at the Plantation.
I hate to say anything bad about a beach restaurant because i know the challenges however it was a less than average meal and service. The upstairs room was very very loud. Sorry, it just wasn't good.
Food way overpriced and quality quite mediocre. Based on the Yelp reviews we expected this expensive restaurant to warrant the prices. Unfortunately, the restaurant turns out to be a Big Fish in a very Little Pond in this vacation spot. Not worth the $75 per head.
Birthday dinner. Beautiful ambiance. Food was ok.. calamari appetizer was sparse and tiny. Other area restaurants make it much better. Tuna was raw (ordered medium-rare) I couldn’t even cut through the tendons. Was quickly remedied and was brought back out medium. Better than raw I guess! Waitress was a bit scattered and had chipped nail polish which was surprising for a place that nice.
Overall good food experience, delicious key lime pie and a decent size martini for the price.
Good service with good food at reasonable prices. Versatile menu to please everyone
Went with 2 friends Mon night for dinner at 7:30 pm. Restaurant very busy. Live music playing & patrons, including our group, were yelling across the table to each other trying to have a conversation. I ordered salmon entree with polenta & arugula salad. Salmon was over cooked & dry. Polenta tasteless. One friend got Thai beef noodle salad that she said was delicious. Other friend had salmon but asked to sub risotto for polenta. Smart. Waitress very harried—had too many tables & service suffered as a result. Did not expect this experience on a Mon night despite it being mid-August. Also quite pricey. Have eaten here a few times before & it was ok. This was the worst experience I’ve had there. I won’t be hurrying back any time soon. Very disappointed.
The noise level was unbearable! This is not the place to go if you want to enjoy dinner and conversation with friends. The price point was very high but the quality was very good. Service was fair. Valet parking was not there after my dinner. I was told to get my keys at the counter. Very disappointed with valet.
I have had dinner at Plantation Restaurant in LBI 3-4 times now, but this last visit was disappointing. The upstairs seating area is not as nice as downstairs, & there are steep stairs to climb. Our waiter forgot multiple things, & the food & cocktails came out missing ingredients, & generally not as described. The food was also kind of bland to be honest. Never had any complaints before, but this visit was very disappointing. The food and service need improvement.
My wife and I wanted to have a romantic date after having company for the weekend. We had been to The Plantation last year and liked it. When we arrived we were seated in the bar side and it was quite noisy at first. We could hear several loud conversations going on around us, but had trouble hearing the specials from our server. Eventually, the noise level dropped, and we both enjoyed our meals, We enjoyed our visit and would return to dine again in the future.
First time here - celebrate wife's birthday. The waiter was personable and attentive.
Tables too small and too close.
Menu, food, service, live entertainment were all of the highest quality. Would dine here frequently (if we could afford it). Will definitely be back.
We went here for my birthday. The shrimp scampi was great. I wasn’t too impressed with the mixed drinks but the service was great!!!
Have had a house in LbI for 15 years. We have found over the years it has been hit or miss with the food. This year we found the menu to be more concise and the food was outstanding. From the appetizers , to entree and dessert.
We will def be back !
Plantation is our go-to restaurant on LBI. The food never disappoints. The staff is always friendly and fun. The rock shrimp appetizer is yummy. Our daughter is a vegetarian, and they have a quite extensive vegetarian menu. My husband and I both had specials which were amazing (although very pricey!!). Always a fun dining experience.
Great service, great food.
Waitress at times ‘disappeared’. Food was mediocre, but pricey. The table beside us was so loud you couldn’t think. Went home with a headache.
It was overpriced & very small portions.
The salad was very tiny.
Our server was outstanding, unfortunately our food was cold and the air conditioner vent was dripping onto our table which was so slanted that the plates were sliding.
Too noisy, although food was good. Overpriced. Decor leaves much to be desired.
Food was well prepared and presented. Noise was very high, found it hard to carry on a conversation in normal voice levels. Manager was attentive and friendly. Server may have been new.
We ate on the left side of the bar downstairs - far too noisy. Shrimp scampi was a bit watery, and the scallops seemed a bit undercooked.
Food was good, food presentation very good, service was attentive. Too noisy.
We were in upstairs room with about 8 tables and it was very noisy. Prices were on the higher side
I recommend for a night out of dining.
Better than expected
We have dined here before and enjoyed ourselves. The one comment was that our soups and pasta dish we’re lukewarm. We didn’t complain but hope this info is helpful
With the new restaurants coming to LBI, the restaurant seems tired. Menu hasn’t changed and the service isn’t great. Food comes out at different times and the drinks have no flare.
Our waitress was Amazing. She was friendly and very knowledgeable of food & drinks.
Wrong food served
Waitress nice but not knowledgeable
