Took a friend out for a belated bday to Plant Food Wine on a Thursday night at 8pm. It was fairly busy and crowded with the usual young attractive hipster clientele you expect from a Abbott Kinney restaurant bar.
The staff was attentive and waitress was very kind, down to earth and casual. We decided to sit at the front near the entrance which I don’t recommend. After our meal we ventured out to the back patio and although much louder it was a much better ambience and definitely more of a romantic setting. Since I was with a pal the front was fine.
The menu was set up as a tapas style and
offered unique seasonal curated dishes that ended up like hors d’oeuvres, so if you are 2 hungry men be prepared to drop a little more money at this establishment.
The food was amazing, every plate was unique and every ingredient was fresh well thought of, complementing to its neighbors. All 100% vegan offering that resemble cheese, carbs and animal proteins but without you feeling it was a trendy mimic but more for the taste and amazing textures.
We shared everything a must of ordered 8 plates all about 4 bites each ! But the experience was more of a delectable taste test than a sheer volume meal. It just left you wanting more. I also ordered a $65 bottle of wine and desert and I left paying 260 (20 %tip included). I left feeling enriched from a tasting experience I never experienced before.
I was totally satisfied. Will I return?? yes perhaps after grabbing better valued wine
down the street at another bar before dining.
Would I recommend, yes absolutely. Specially if you want a romantic date with a
Vegan or someone who just loves food. I actually saw couples leaving there
to practically make out waiting for their Uber! The last time I saw that was in Soho in the 90s!! Haha showing my age.
Great food, expensive. Beautiful patio area.
The food was outrageously expensive for what it was. Wasn’t that great. Odd place.
We have been here three times before. The food is as good as ever, and the concept is as fresh as ever. The cheese plate is great, as is the gnocchi.
Flavorful dishes, beautifully presented. Patio ambience showcases the best of Southern California.
Beautiful back terrace - delicious food
Server was a bit on his own but we all
Amazing foods, decent portions and prices relevant to the exceptional produce being used. An expensive wine menu would be my only negative. Its cosy in the courtyard and beautiful ambiance
Food is amazing! Udon noodles were perfection! But be careful of critters on the outdoor patio. It’s Venice though so critters are a part of the territory. Despite this I’ll be back!
To be honest, I wish I got more food on my plate. It tasted good, however, the price did not match.
Service was AWFUL. We had at least 3 different waiters concerned about our water but our server missed food from our meal, brought things out slowly and not all together, the place was loud and hot and it took forever to get the bill. The food was mediocre at best. Would not eat here again.
Our anniversary dinner at PFW was very special. The food, service and ambiance was all exceptional.
Fantastic service, creative dishes, and an amazing ambiance. 10/10
I love this place. It's got some of the best tasting vegan food in LA. It also has great servers. And the outdoor ambience is delightful. For those who prefer indoors, it's very modern and elegant. It's not inexpensive, but this is a great place for a special treat, especially for gluten free people, who can choose from 5 gf desserts.
I've said it once and I'll say it again. Best restaurant in LA. It's my absolute favorite. Food, ambiance, service, and overall vibe is ideal. Every time we go we get something we haven't tried before and we are blown away. It's incredible.
Terrific service from everyone. Great wine suggestions. Lovely back patio. Food was incredible - so impressive by the vegan creativity and absolutely delicious. We went for my birthday and it was really fun. Get dessert too!
I was there two years ago and the place was great I was excited to go back but it was so dirty they were stains everywhere. Wait staff was laughing and chat it up. Idk. I usually don’t write reviews but was bummed. So so dirty. Omg.
Went for my daughter’s birthday. The ambiance was really wonderful and the tasting with the wine pairing was delicious. There was only 1 course I didn’t like - the potato dish. Everything else was great and every wine was fabulous. A very relaxed, delicious meal with beautiful surroundings.
The food was amazing...the patio was quiet and pretty, the service was just ok considering there were only 2 other tables filled on the patio. The bus-boy was much more attentive than the waitress. The menu was a little pricy, considering its all vegetables!!! $10 for a thick slice of bread! Maybe the small plates/high prices made this Sunday brunch on a beautiful CA day not busy at all. There are so many choices on Abbott Kinney with lines out the door.
probably the best meal I had in the last years and I am not even vegan. The raw zuchinni lasagna and the dumplings are outstanding. And the atmosphere is lovely, recomment siiting in the garden on the back. Service was also great. Expensive, but worth it if you are a foodie.
This is probably the best plant-based meal I've had. It was a pleasant surprise. Can't wait to go back.
Our dinner and experience was an absolute delight!
The only item I could see an improvement with would be the wine menu...not a fan.
This place is outstanding! I went twice during my trip to venice it was so good. If you are plant based even better, but if not it is just as good!
All good , and Alejandro is a magnificent manager.
He is warm, generous and responsible.
He welcomes feedback and he acts on it as appropriate.
We had. The beat server! Honestly it made our experience unforgettable!
My family has been going to Plant Food + Wine since it opened and the creative and delicious food has always brought us back. Recently, the new manager, Alejandro has put the restaurant in even better shape. He understands the importance of both making the diners’ experience wonderful and welcoming in addition to great food.
Eggplant dish was over priced for the few skinny pieces of eggplant and the long beans had no sauce were very dry. Carrot cake tasted like I was eating a dry biscuit.
Tried the guest chef tasting menu ~ interesting flavors and ingredients. A fun play with Chinese cuisine!
A gourmet meal that is also healthy and plant-based. Wish I lived in the neighborhood, I would be a regular.
Outstanding food, wine and atmosphere. The outdoor patio is great. I am not a vegetarian and I thoroughly enjoyed this place.
Amazing food, ambiance, presentation.
A must try for vegans and meat eaters alike
Food was great along with the service.
Food was incredible and a beautiful setting. Even my non vegan friends were loving the food.
Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. Amazing service.
Great atmosphere in the garden in back! Server was attentive and friendly on what seemed to be a fairly busy evening. As a non-vegan, I still found myself enjoying the menu options. Nothing blew me away, but I would eat again. I found the prices to be a bit high for some of the portion sizes, however. The most expensive dish on the menu, the gnocchi, was much more the portion size of a shareable or appetizer. The spicy udon was out of this world delicious, though!
Our experience for a family birthday dinner at plant food and wine was a pleasant experience. There were fabulous fresh flavors that were unique yet had a familiar tone. There is a cute atmosphere on the inside as well as a very cozy outdoor patio. Nice fireplace inside and plenty of heaters on the patio. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating, and they all seemed happy to work there. I was more than I'm impressed with the overall experience at plant food and wine. Definitely check it out for a variety of events and fun times, it's a perfect place.
I celebrated my 21st birthday at Plant Food Wine. The night exceeded even my highest expectation. The waitresses were knowledgable and positive. The chef even came out to check to make sure everything was perfect. 11/10 would recommend.
My husband took me here for Sunday brunch. Absolutely gorgeous backyard, excellent service, and the food was not only lovely in appearance - the flavors were beyond. Also, the Pomegranate Mimosa was wonderful. We will be back asap!
Was great. Nice ambience.
