Perfect. The service was spot on, and every dish was perfect. I’ll move to Venice just to have this on the regular.
Went for the food, ended up enjoying the beautiful garden and ambiance of the restaurant much more. Nothing on the brunch menu was plated as beautifully as the photos, a bit more rustic. The cheese platter saved the whole meal, it was great. It took a while for the plates to come out and my salad was way over dressed but proportions were good.. I was too hungry to ask for a new one. My friend had avo toast she said it was fine, the toast itself looked really nice. All in all an enjoyable experience.
Great vegan food and very creative. The kimchi dumplings are too die for. Friendly staff, and overall great atmosphere.
Best food in a long time. Paris and Justin made the experience even better. Plant based wins!
Love everything about this restaurant!
Service was horrible. Should be called plant food and rude! Our waitress had an attitude for no reason. Seemed liked she couldn’t have been bothered. When asked for a refill of iced teas - she didn’t inform us that they charge you each time. Overall quality and taste of food for Sunday brunch was lacking. Burrito was falling apart and had zero taste. The only thing exciting about it was the charred bits on the outside of the tortilla.
The food was mediocre, I was expecting way more for the price paid. Also, the service is mediocre. Will not be returning.
Excellent and creative plant-based food and wine. Bit overpriced.
Food and ambience great. Service not great
Wonderful plant-based food, so delicious and tasty. And even healthy at the same time. Would definitely come back.
I have been waiting to dine at this restaurant for two years (since I live in Hong Kong it's not like I can rock up to Abbot Kinney and drop in)! Well, the wait was worth it. The ambiance is spectacular - having dinner in the garden is quite the experience. The food? Wow - all I can say is that every dish was a hit (except for the desserts, sadly). Service was tip top. My friend has a nut allergy and the staff was very careful and pro-active in suggesting the dishes without nuts. If I live in L.A. I will be back every week!
Tijdens onze vakantie gegeten in dit fantastische restaurant
Unreal! Cant wait to come back next time. Food was tasty and original
expensive for small portions; not great service but good if you need a vegan place; cozy patio in good weather and nice indoor space but a bit noisy inside
Upscale Vegan places are hard to find. This place is a gem. The food was amazing. Our waitress Sara was great.
We really wanted to like this place, but it wasn't happening. The backyard is possibly one of the nicest outdoor dining spots in LA and the service was top notch. Unfortunately, the food left us wanting. The hummus was good, but we'd have preferred the grilled flatbread with it instead of the crackers (didn't realize until it arrived). The polenta tasted good, but was just sort of a bowl of mush. The pasta with sweet potato sauce was surprisingly sweet and also kinda mushy. A+ for the ambiance and service. Notsomuch on the food.
Outstanding, imaginative vegan cuisine
The only thing nice I could say was the free toast at the beginning of the dinner.. Food was not what I would expect for a tasting menu on a special occasion. Some food was not seasoned enough. We kept seeing people come and go due to hostess not letting guests know there was only tasting menu that day only, which was distracting. Hostess who wore red that day smelled of alcohol which was not professional at all. We waited 20-30 minimum for the next course, sitting with empty plates in front of us. our dessert took the longest which the we noticed our server had realized but didn't apologize for it being late. On special occasion dinner that should of been amazing, we left feeling very unhappy. To top it off we were charged 20% gratuity even though it didn't state on the menu it would automatically be done. I absolutely tip 20% if the service was up to par but it wasn't and I didn't like being charged like that when 1. it was never stated on the menu or told before hand , but 2.Most importantly, the service was not good at all and we had to look for our server or even ask when the next course would come. It was definitely NOT like the first time we went last year. Extremely disappointing, especially on a special occasion and I no longer recommend this place and will not be going back. Such a shame...
The food was PHENOMENAL. Valentine’s Day tasting menu did not disappoint. The patio was full of string lights and was super romantic. Servers got a little confused and brought us 2 dishes meant for another table. We got the wine pairing but the pacing was off and our wine and food was sometimes staggered. But minor complaints.... this place overall delivered an EXCEPTIONAL experience and UNFORGETTABLE food.
Valentines dinner. They told us we had an hour and 20 mins to eat before vacating the table. It's not like we were late for our reservation. In order to hasten us out, they overlapped courses — I was still eating my main course when they brought the cheese plate. They brought us the wrong food on multiple occasions. They brought our champagne and cocktails at the same time and only after the first course had arrived. The food is okay.
This is an incredible vegan restaurant that we highly recommend. Normally we would give it a 5 star rating on all accounts, but we were sat in the wine room for V day. We did not want to make a fuss since they were so busy, but next time when we make reservations we will make sure they don't seat us there. The wine room just needs a little tender loving care to create the same level of impressive atmosphere as the garden and the inside seating. The wine room would also be a great place for a larger group that needs or wants private interaction or the opportunity to get more raucous. There is no music in the wine room, it feels isolated, and there are boxes just stacked in the corner. Because of the type of table, I would not sit less than 6 people in the wine room, because you loose the intimacy. Still love this place and will continue to frequent for amazing vegan food.
It was Valentines Day, with a special set menu. Some of the dishes worked (a very nice salad, for instance), but too many didn't (like gnocchi in a too-sweet tomato sauce). The wine pairing selections were mostly dropped at the table with no description whatsoever. Service was pleasant but felt too rushed. All in all, not very impressive.
The food took over an hour to come out...
Food needed to be properly seasoned and executed better, plus prices should be lower for vegetables. Service and food timing was extremely off.
Just amazing...the wait staff equal parts friendly and charming, the indoor space minimalist gorg (fortunately, a similar vibe to Axe, the previous eatery that once occupied the space), the food divine, the wine list impressive albeit a bit on the pricey side - at least with no 'house wine' option. The 'filtered tap water' was great so no need to order bottled water nor did they make you feel cheap for doing so, a nice touch -- and every dish (we all shared at the table) was absolutely awesome..and none of us are vegan. In short, we all highly highly recommend. Seating note, outdoor area is positively magical though when we were there, there was a private party occupying a good portion of it which kinda gave it a 'we can store you at a table in the back' vibe so we opted for indoors this time which ended up being really nice as well - and I'm usually an al fresco kinda gal. All in all, a wonderful experience.
quality goes up and down here. most recent visit was pleasant, no more. menu changes little with the seasons - is someone losing interest in the kitchen? wine choices somewhat mediocre.
Favs: Kimchii Dumplings, Kelp Noodles, and Tiramisu. Really delicious and great service.
Everyone would be vegetarian if they could eat here every day! Taste treats galore! You must experience this food!
After my first experience at Plant Food + Wine last summer, I was smitten—with the food, the service, and the ambience. The two times I have eaten here since have been subpar. I so want it to be great, but after tonight, I won’t be going back. Each plate delivered had a scant portion of ‘nothing special’ food. The entrees took about 45 minutes to come—and they were meh. The garden is so beautiful—if only the food and service were as divine.
Wonderful food and service.
Delicious food, excellent service and great ambiance.
Inventive and delicious. Can’t wait to go back
The food is ALWAYS fantastic! I love taking my non vegan friends and family and have them “ooo” and “ahh” over the beautiful and delicious plant based food!
Delicious food. Incredible vegan Caesar salad. Large portions at least for me I wanted to get dessert but was too full .Have to go back for their Banana Split, and the tea sounds delicious.will be back it was great.
New Year’s Eve ce
One of the most amazing vegan meals I have had!! Will definitely be back!
Not just a great Vegan resturant but a great resturant. My wife is a Vegan and I am not. I enjoy this resturant as much as she did. The food was all delicious and filling. The back garden seating is a little gem hideaway, perfect for an afternoon lunch or nice evening.
Love this place!!
We had a great group dinner the other night. Originally they had us seated outside at a communal table. When we asked to be moved to something more intimate, we were moved into this adorable little wine room, which had the perfect intimate atmosphere. I was the only vegan and I kind of pushed the restaurant on everyone. By the end of the night, and with a little help from the awesome wait staff, everybody was raving about the place. It's hard to say what were the best items, but I recall loving the gem salad, the deep fried mushroom dish, the pasta bolognese and the chocolate chip sandwich for dessert. And of course, I love the gluten and grain free fennel crackers. This is my third time eating at this restaurant and I haven't been disappointed yet. Thanks for making me look so good and for a great night!
Plant Food + Wine is an elegant vegan destination. Sitting on the patio is a lovely, tranquil experience and the food is excellent. Wonderful cocktails and a wide selection of food items, all hand crafted with love, make it a special occasion to dine there.
