Plant City Indoor (Double Zero & Besina)
Named for the 00 grade of flour used in traditional Italian pizza, Double Zero features creative plant-based and vegan Italian dishes and a wine list featuring organic and bio-dynamic wines. The warm, open dining room is perched on the second floor of Plant City with panoramic views of the Providence River and skyline and features a wrap-around bar overlooking our wood fired pizza hearth.
Named for the Spanish words for kiss and kitchen (beso + cocina), Besina offers Mexican-inspired plant-based cuisine crafted with love and intention. Centered around a wrap-around island bar with an extensive trove of tequila and mezcal, the window-lit dining room offers scenic views of the Providence River and skyline. Food and staff were amazing! Coming back again soon.
I was a little disappointed in the variety of the ingredients on the Mexican menu. The appetizer was very similar to the ingredients in my entree. The food was fresh however so I may go back and give it another try. The server could have been a bit more helpful and knowledgeable regarding the menu also. If you are vegan then this is probably your best bet in the Providence area.
The service was horrible and it was the third time this has happened. We waited forever to even be greeted or acknowledged that we were there. The food came out before the meals. We drive an hour to visit this location and were very disappointed w/service.
Food was delicious and service was friendly and relaxed! Very enjoyable lunch! Fun to look around the small market on the first floor.
really amazing Vegan food
I would recommend it to anyone on a plant-based diet or hoping to start on one.
Some of the best vegan food out there. Highly recommend.
Needs more menu options - a side salad or steamed veggies to go with an entree seems a given. The bolognese was too watery and didn’t stick to the pasta but had good flavor - maybe serve with a spoon? The margherita pizza was just a smear of sauce and some dollops of cheese with basil placed on top as an afterthought. Crust too thin(and i like thin crust pizza) and sauce too bland, needs sliced tomatoes on top perhaps. Disappointed although the venue is really nice.
The pizzas were amazing, highly recommend. Our server was attentive
This was first time out to eat in Providence since COVID restrictions. The service, food, and ambience was exceptional. Their was a great crowd, and unlike a few other re-entry restaurant experiences that I have had outside Providence, the service and speed of delivery and cadence was on point. Highly recommend.
What a horrible experience. Drink service was ridiculous and waiter asked if we wanted the check after appetizers, we were planning on having dinner! We were so annoyed that we skipped dinner and went home.
There’s nothing to say. Got seated after waiting a while and then continued to wait another 25 minutes for nothing.
Servers walked by, looked right at us but.... well, nothing.
Not even water was offered.
We left after another table that came after was served before us.
Beautiful place. It was great to be able to order anything on the menu and no worry about any dairy being used. Pizza was amazing and the eggplant parm delicious. Can’t wait to go again. Service was a little slow but that is a problem everywhere right now.
We had a reservation for 3 for the inside restaurant at Plant City (standard seating).
1) We had assumed we would be able to eat at either Besima or Double Zero. We must’ve missed it on the website where they say you can only choose one.
2)When we got there and were asked to decide on which restaurant or menu, we were put on the spot. We decided on Double Zero. Hostesses pressured us to take the pizza bar seats instead of a table, which we did, and we immediately regretted it.
3) Didn't receive service for the first 10 minutes while waiting at pizza bar, finally got some waters. Waitress apologized.
4) Food was tasty. The eggplant dish had good flavor, but the eggplant itself ranged from lukewarm to freezing cold. As if it had been taken out of a fridge, heated up for a few seconds, but not heated long enough. We let our server know. Wasn't taken off the check. Strawberry shortcake had good flavor, but shortcake was stale.
5) We only received one round of drinks. A second round was not offered even when it was clear we had empty glasses.
6) Overall, it was amazing to see such a successful vegan restaurant/food hall. The food was good. Though I would say were expecting more from our experience. It was a confusing and not relaxing experience. There is too much pressure put on the diner when they arrive to pick a restaurant/menu. It felt like we were being herded to where the hostesses wanted us to go. So while we went in with a great attitude and excited for dinner, after we arrived we became much less enthusiastic about our experience.
Service was a little slow but waitress was pleasant and the food was good.
Raw zucchini lasagna was the best vegan meal I have had! Yummy! Pesto pizza and chopped salad were terrific.
My favorite restaurant. Excellent food and service.
Great staff, was seated immediately and the waitress was nice. The food was top quality and dessert even better. Will come back again!
did not know that we could only order from besina OR double zero. making an online reservation is confusing and makes it seem as though you can dine at both restaurants when dining indoors. was extremely disappointing
Traveled from out of state (90 min) to finally try this restaurant. Worth the ride. I am dairy free and my husband has no food allergies. Loved that the menu reflected food allergies for each dish! No over thinking the menu, except for deciding what to have for lunch! We both were blown away by the flavor profile of the dishes we ordered. I also tried a brunch cocktail, coffee milk. A must try restaurant for every type of eater!
My husband is vegetarian so it was great that he could choose anything on the menu for a change. We ate indoors and had to choose Mexican or Italian. We chose Mexican. We had the nachos to start. Lots of beans, lots of chopped tomatoes, a few pickled jalapeños, a little guac and vegan queso. It was good but I missed the cheese! I’m sure if you are vegan and never get to order nachos it would be a big treat. Very ample serving. We then split the Pastor taco with
Jackfruit. Chili. Pineapple. Pickled onion. Lime cashew crema. It was gluten free and soy free. It was very good. The atmosphere was very nice. Not overly formal. Nice place for a casual first date or dining with a group of friends. Service was very good and our food came out quickly on a busy Saturday night (despite reviews saying otherwise). Overall it was very good, not amazing. But if I was vegan I might have found it more amazing. I’d go back. Peaked at the Italian dishes - mostly saw pizzas that looked good, some salads and pastas.
The food is good but nothing spectacular. We were seated upstairs and that night had to choose between the Mexican or Italian menu. I didn’t like how we had to choose. I wish each individual person would be able to make their own decision. We decided on Mexican and enjoyed the guacamole and chips. The service was very slow.
Beautiful interior/exterior. Friendly staff. Delicious & creative vegan meals, great drinks. Centrally located in PVD, usually plenty of free parking on nearby streets. The place is always poppin! Highly recommended.
Great atmosphere…excellent food and flavor for vegan menu
The food was so creative and delicious - how nice to be able to order from the whole menu rather than looking for the few vegetarian options!
Wait staff seems very young and potentially understaffed. Our waitress never really checked on us. We were incredibly disappointed in the pizziola. Basically a quickly blanched head of cauliflower. Our cocktails were also very imbalanced. My Lady Whistledown was way too bitter. Our other meals at the restaurant have been spectacular. Bummed this happened on our anniversary
Fabulous food with variety & great desserts
I was very disappointed in our experience! 3 out of the 4 meals we ordered were cold. I told the waitress and she just took my plate and didn’t say a word- not even an apology. I thought she was going to get me a new hot meal, but instead just a check. When I asked if I was charged, I got a snarky reply.
To be honest, the regardless of the food temperature, it’s not that great of food. And with such terrible service, it’s hard to recommend this place to anyone. Very disappointed.
Cannot believe everything listed is vegan! So many options and such great food. Everyone should try Plant City
I brought my partner ,who is vegan , here on date. I personally am not vegan and was very skeptical about what i was getting myself into, but honestly i was blown away by how delicious the food was. Great place, definitely will be visiting again.
Amazing vegan food. A must for anyone - vegan or not.
Delish! Our server Lucy was super awesome. Wonderful dinner overall.
Great family dinner experience. My teens enjoyed the mocktails. Karson, our server, was attentive, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We enjoyed the ambience upstairs. We look forward to returning to experience the outside seating area.
Awesome plant based food. Burritos were amazing.
Food was delicious as always, but it took an extraordinarily long time to come out, the main courses came out before the appetizer, and the server couldn't answer menu questions about what particular ingredients in a dish were.
Great food, ambience and service—highly recommend!
Plant city was amazing! The eggplant Parmesan and Truffle Pizza were both absolutely delicious. I can guarantee we will be back again for sure!
Loved the food and service. Amazing menu and will be back again!
Food was great, dining area was beautifully decorated, staff was very friendly and upbeat, cutlery had no water mark's on them. Service was quick, menu was short and easy to read, great for indecisive individuals, such as myself.
I loved it! First time eating vegan out! Amazing food at Double Zero! The service was really slow and the bathroom was needed to be attended to. But I understand they are short staffed at the moment! I’m recommending it to all my friends!
This was my first visit to Plant City. My nephew and I were celebrating his college graduation ceremony. We will be back!
