My husband and I went to Plan B for our anniversary dinner and were so disappointed. The noise level was obnoxious. We thought we would be having a fine dining experience, and it was more like a sports bar. We could barely converse with each other. Our waiter was sympathetic and very nice. Not his fault of course. Also, my ribeye was overdone and tough. My husband had the lamb, which was good. If you’re looking for a lively bar scene, this is the place. Do not recommend for dinner.

Our first time here. Very impressed by the service and the food quality. We had the Rack of Lamb and the filet mignon cooked to perfection. Chris took great care of us even though they were very busy.

specials on top of menu options made decisions difficult. creative appetizers set high expectations for entrees. Exceeded. rack of lamb and veal — delicious. definitely repeating. this is an entirely new and greatly improved Plan B.

This was our 2nd time here. 1st time was fro Valentines day and was pretty good. Celebrating an anniversary and specified in the reservation (Restaurant didn't acknowledge). Baked bree came out cold (took a very long time to come out), but when we told the server he brought another. Sauce on the prawns was amazing. Potatoes weren't good. He ordered branzino. It was tender but very small. We ordered 2 desserts, tartan and lava cake. Tartan was not good & not warm. Lava cake was good. Different experience than our 1st time. We were waiting for our server A LOT & they weren't super busy. They were very attentive to another table behind us. Just felt forgotten about. Likely will not go again.

My reservation was for 515. Walk in diners were turned away on a Sunday evening. By 6 o’clock the place was packed. I had a lovely fresh gazpacho and a filet mignon with cauliflower au gratin. It was all very delicious and beautifully prepared.. I don’t know what could be done about the noise level, but it was really loud in there. I liked that the maître d’ greeted us as well as said goodbye. In addition to tables There is a bar for drinking or dining. It is the best food I know of in my neighborhood. I look forward to eating there again.

Excellent food and service. Great place for a special night out. If you like muscles, this is the place for you - they are delicious! The hostess was super friendly and accommodating and the wait staff was exceptional.

My wife and I tried Plan B for the first time yesterday. We were greeted near the door and shown to a table (even though we were about 15 minutes early). Our server (Rodney?The check identified him as “Chris,”)was at our table within 5 minutes, and taking our drink order. My wife had a Cosmo and she said it was the best she’d ever had. We found out as we were leaving that our server actually made the cocktail. We chatted with our server about menu options and he was very helpful. We started with a bowl of chilled cantaloupe soup which was simply fabulous. Following the soup , we selected one of the numerous available options of mussels. Rodney’s (Chris’?) recommendation was the one cooked in a coconut sauce. It, too, was fabulous. Finally, we had the Filet Mignon off the ‘specials’ board. We added some mixed vegetables. The meat was in a delicious sauce and cooked to perfection. I don’t know how the chef prepared the vegetables, but they were fantastic, too. We washed that down with a delicious glass of Peju Cab. Another recommendation from Rodney. It was busy, but the ambiance was perfect. We were not rushed, nor were we left to wait for long for anything. It truly was a wonderful evening and we will be back to Plan B before long. Totally recommend.

My wife and I decided that the last minute to try this restaurant which we had never been to before we were pleasantly surprised by the decor and the food the service was a little on the slow side but the restaurant seemed to be unseasonably crowded my wife had a salad and I had an onion soup for starters both were excellent and then I had an open face burger with French fries and she had salmon both were excellent and we would return again

Hands down our favorite restaurant. Small staff with very little turnover speaks volumes. Attention to detail, from flowers on the tables to butter served at room temperature (sooo much easier to spread on locally baked bread). Quick to accommodate special requests and quick to fix the *very rare* mistake. The quality and flavor of the food is consistently outstanding.

Family celebrated my youngest adult son’s birthday. The staff was the most efficient, caregiving and pleasant I have had in a long time. Everyone. The food also was phenomenal from the duck to swordfish to lamb chops. Perfectly prepared and presented. We brought our own birthday cake and the staff was very accommodating in helping me present it. We will definitely be back to this smaller neighborhood restaurant that is a true gem in Sacramento. Thank you Plan B for a memorable evening.

Love this place. We knew it would be busy when we got there but the food and drink are always great. The owner and manager both stopped by the table to check on things and remember you if you are a returning customer.

We found Escargot!! It was not the usual drowning in butter, it was on the plate with a mix of pesto, garlic butter and puffed pastries bread. They made a great caesar salad we got extra anchovies fortunately they were available a great salty treat to a great caesar. The mussels were amazing with the heavy cream, shallots and cilantro, I had to order extra bread to soak up the juice! Looking forward to coming back.
