Great food with novel twists on French classics. Beautiful view, very professional service. Amazing duck’
I have loved Place Pigalle for such for many years. Salads, their signature muscles, bread, and pate are my go-to's. On this occasion we took a business associate there for dinner. We were very disappointed. For most of the evening there were glaring ceiling spot lights, making a negative impact on the ambiance. The seafood soup was luke warm and the mushrooms accompanying the salmon were overcooked in an obscene amount of butter. I would still recommend Place Pigalle for lunch and will return. But not for dinner.
Small French bistrôt with classic cooking, fine wine list, harbor and Mountain View’s, friendly and welcoming staff. Reservations recommended.
The headwaiter was so rude and unfriendly. We eventually walked out and won’t be returning. As locals living in Seattle this was very disappointing
This small, fantastic French restaurant is nestled behind the fish vendors in the iconic Pike Place Market with tremendous views of Puget Sound and the sunsets. The food is ever-changing with a nice mix of local ingredients with great French preparations. The daily specials are always great, and always include local fish and local raised meat. The wine list is broad, special and something for all tastes and price points. Try the calamari and the crème brule....obviously not together!
My husband and I go to Place Pigalle everytime we visit Seattle. Delicious shellfish and beautiful view of the pier. The staff are always amicable and pleasant. Always worth every penny.
The service was good and the foods was amazing. Great place to bring a date and enjoying your dinner with a amazing view.
Service was average. View is great. Scallops were good but not great. Salmon was excellent as was the vegetable soup and warm beet salad. Tables for 2 are generally quite small. Bathroom is tired and no seat liners.
The food was very enjoyable, the service not so much.
Delicious food in a very romantic setting with gorgeous views of Puget Sound (if you're lucky enough to be seated at a window table) -- our server was wonderful.
Is there anyway to give Place Pigalle more than 5 stars??? I've always had 5-star service and food, but this time they managed to out-do themselves. The octopus was the most tender I've ever had. The Bouillebasse had an extremely generous portion of crab and the salmon was buttery and rich. Guy provided animated, friendly service and expedited our meal due to theater tickets. Shane makes the best Corpse Reviver No.2 in town and I've tried a LOT. This secluded spot in the market is a hidden gem. You must try it if you're downtown.
Lovely intimate and classic spot for a delicious dinner with terrific views of Puget Sound and the Seattle waterfront.
Portions were generous and menu selections terrific for seafood lovers.
Staff were all friendly, attentive but not invasive.
The wait staff was the best. They were very friendly and informative, definitely made me want to come back!
We had a wonderful lunch at Place Pigalle as our Valentine’s celebration, 4 days after the 14th for two busy business people!
We were seated at a small table, yet within 10 minutes the larger corner table next to us vacated and our server asked if we wanted to move : yes please!
Looked at the reserve wine list and the bottle of Chablis 2013 I ordered was sublimely rich and deep amber colored, and went wonderfully with the menu.
Having read the restaurant history, my lady ordered the mussels (laced with bacon) and I the calamari dijonnaise for starters. Both were delicious, the calamari being the best I have ever had in 23 years in PNW.
For entrees the bouillabase was also delicious, and the rabbit was succulent. All dishes came with simply amazing sauces. The chocolate (pot au crème?) dessert we shared was also delicious and being very full at that point not quite finished!
Our server was attentive and friendly and never pushy, offered more bread, kept wine and water glasses topped up, as we spent over 2.5 hours enjoying each others’ company, the amazing view (snow, sleet, rain … and then blue sky sunshine) and the wonderful ambience. We’ll be back!
Valentines Day is notorious for less than ideal service and food, but Place Pigalle pulled it off very nicely.
Perfect. Perfect Perfect.
Whenever my wife and I go to the Pike Street Market, we eat at Place Pigalle, and we have never been disappointed
Actually the best meal I’ve had in a restaurant. The entire experience was memorable. We will return!
Excellent small restaurant with a nice view. Very cozy and authentic. Bartender was great guy and food was great
I happened upon this gem at Pike Place Market, was in the mood for Bouillabaisse, saw it on the menu, and gave it a try.
I was not disappointed.
It was a Monday night, and the small charming dining room was not crowded.
I started with the LaSalle cocktail, which is fresh grapefruit juice, gin, Aperol, elderflower liquor, and rhubarb bitters.
It was super-delicious.
I ordered the Washington Pink Lady apple and Belgian endive salad with bleu cheese, candied walnuts, and fresh herbs. It was so good!
Then I had the Northwest Bouillabaisse. It was loaded with clams, mussels, prawns, salmon, and a huge amount of Dungeness crab, in a delicately seasoned tomato broth.
It was perfect, exactly what I hoped it would be.
I paired it with a very good dry rosé.
The service was excellent as well.
I'll be back, and I highly recommend Place Pigalle.
Great food, lovely ambiance , and outstanding service. Hidden gem in the Market.
It took awhile for a server to come to the table but once the server was there we felt acknowledged. Great wine menu!
First time trying this restaurant. We were not disappointed. Tried the calamari to start based on other reviews - fabulous. Beet and arugula salad was wonderful too. Some had salmon prepared differently and someone tried the bouillabaisse. Everything was so good. The service was excellent. Will go again!
A really special dinner - great food, wine, view. Happy to have this gem in Seattle, it’s one of my favorite places.
It was my first time eating here and it was fantastic! The escargot was delicious and the fish was even better. The service was great, I will definitely be back!
Good food and wine - nice atmosphere. Quiet so could easily have conversation with our friends.
A SEATTLE classic!!
A fantastic Seattle spot! Gorgeous view, wonderful food, excellent service and a quiet (small number of tables) atmosphere.
Oooh! The pate was delicious! My husband I shared a green salad. He had a bowl of the onion soup - which was a little thin and light on onions - and I had the pate with accompaniments. Generous portion with very tasty capers, cornichons and greens. Perfect winter lunch!
Great service, yummy food, fantastic view - all at the wonderful Pikes Place Market! Thank you!
Hands down one of the best places to eat in Seattle. If you are lucky, Guy will be your server.
We were on New Year’s Eve; Great food; great service; we will come back
We are from Las Vegas and our daughter goes to college in Seattle. Every trip we make, we include Place Pigalle! It’s our fave for many reasons! Thank you 🙏🏼
We just love this restaurant! I always want everything on the menu! It has never disappointed. We now have an annual tradition where we have lunch at Place Pigalle on New Year’s Eve day to celebrate our anniversary. This year was our 35th anniversary. Usually, our kids are with us, but this year they were elsewhere, but they surprised us by contacting the restaurant ahead of time and made arrangements to pay for our meal. It was a truly lovely surprise and we felt so proud of them, and our meals were awesome. It was the perfect way to end 2017 and ring in the new year!
Place Pigalle is a nice place at the market. The food is good, pretty genuine French/PNW, with quality local-sourced ingredients. We had escargot, a salad and rabbit, all was very good. The service was excellent, which made for a nice time. Cocktails were good. It was pretty expensive, though, even for Seattle, so that reduces the overall score. Try to go when you can get a table by the window, which makes for a better experience, because the view is spectacular.
Absolutely wonderful. The food was excellent as was the service. I’m going back once a month to try everything on the menu!
Amazing new dining experience for us! Started with great service and had wonderful food and view! Thank you!
We have been visiting Place Pigalle every time we are in Seattle. In the past severa years this was an excellent place. However, this last time it really disappointed us. Although it was December 24, they were open - and we expected the same excellent service and food as before. But this time the service was so-so (the server did not even know how to decant red wine) and the rabbit (we always liked it in the past) partially was undercooked. Maybe because of the day they did not have their usual staff (server and cook), but then why stay open if cannot prvovide good service and food?
Probably we still will give them another chance next time we are there...
My husband and I go out to a nice dinner twice a year, once for our anniversary and once before Christmas. We have been to Place Pigalle many times in the past and selected it again this year because we liked the food, ambiance, and the view. Our experience this year was not up to the normal Place Pigalle standard. Once we sat at our table at 7:30, we were told to order quickly because they were closing the kitchen because it was a slow night. We were expecting to spend at least a couple hours over dinner and wine, but felt hurried due to the kitchen closing. Our waiter even told us that he normally works the lunch shift and we very much felt like we needed to eat and be out of there in an hour. We ordered the mussels which were good as always. I had the cioppino was was excellent. My husband had the salmon special (for $40+) in a tomato broth. The salmon was dry and swimming in the tomato broth. It looked like they used the cioppino broth for the salmon, but it wasn't. It tasted like tomatoes out of the can. There was no depth of flavor that you would expect when paying over $40. We decided not to have dessert, so that the kitchen could close, but wanted to close the meal with a cup of coffee. We were served barely lukewarm coffee. Neither of us could finish it. We left the restaurant at 9 pm, having spent over $200, trying to have the experience that we thought we came for. We would have liked to enjoy our evening by lingering over a glass of wine, a delicious meal, a cup of coffee. . . We didn't get to linger over any of it. Two hundred dollars is a lot of money for us and we were disappointed that we didn't get the experience we paid for. Next year we'll be going to Matts at the Market.
