The resulting dishes "always have been artful, always entertaining, always fresh...disarmingly successful."
Couple such critical acclaim with a wonderful Elliott Bay and Olympic Mountain view, an award-winning wine list and a bar that specializes in the unusual and you have the reasons for this Pike Place Market restaurant's success.
In a Trip Advisor review, I focused on the floor manager not acknowledging our anniversary at any point --not responding to table request, no mention at all. That's not what should be the focal point, but it does go to some real deficiencies with Place Pigalle. From the seated floor manager (looks lazy as you enter) to the lack of coat space (when the hooks were full, the fellow just shrugged his shoulders) to a kind of factory pace of food delivery-- it all adds up to the place just not delivering. And it used to deliver. My pork chop was quite fatty, my wife's duck we think had the same sauce as my pork (sweet in a masking kind of way) and the apricot torte was just unappealing. Our server was a nice fellow so wouldn't fault him, but there are too many places that try harder and deliver more in Seattle.
Always delicious food and intimate space to dine. A favorite place to go.
Lovely evening with a table overlooking Seattle harbor lights. I enjoyed bouillabaisse with local fresh fish; great take on a French classic. Friend had black cod which she enjoyed as well. Apple, blue cheese, and endive salad starters with creme brûlée for dessert. Will definitely be back.
The escargot and oysters were delicious. I had the duck. It was sickeningly sweet with maple syrup. My husband had the lamb chops which were ok for $40??? Our friend had a dried out pork chop, and his wife had an ok serving of black cod. For dessert we shared crème brulee which was possibly the best I've ever had.
For years one of my go to favorites. Always tasty good quality food, attentive service, cozy ambiance.
The drinks were delicious. My girlfriend had a glass of smooth Cabernet and my classic Manhattan was also wonderful. The onion soup was delightful. My girlfriend had the black cod and loved it. I had the pork chop and it was cooked to perfection. Great views there if you can catch a sunset.
Perfect location with great food and good service!
Always outstanding! Never miss this restaurant whenever I am in Seattle.
Great dining experience at Pike’s Market!
Was delicious. The wait for food was a little long but it was so good that it was worth the wait. Also as more people came in the noise got increasingly louder.
Love this little gem. Cozy and a beautiful view, deep in the heart of the Pike Place Market. Food never fails and neither do the surroundings!
Wonderful dinner at a classic Seattle institution!
The service was impeccable and the food was delicious! Well worth the cost for a special occasion dinner. I can’t wait to come back for lunch!
Really outstanding meal from front to back. We started with the calamari which was delicious. Our salmon and pork were truely special. And for desert we shared the chocolate pot which was perfect. Really great place, quiet with great view and the service was really outstanding. Highly recommend the place if you are looking for a great French meal in Seattle!
Cants say enough about our recent visit to Place Pigalle. remember it from many years ago. Went back and it's only gotten better! The food was excellent: Boulliebaisse,Steamed Mussels, Oyster stew.
What a view of Elliott Bay and the ferries. Not pretentious, or arch in any way, just right! Our Host Tina was amazing. Generous, kind, great storyteller and historian who could answer all of our questions about the history of the place and the Pike Place Market. Feel lucky to have met her!
Will go back when next in Seattle.
I booked this restaurant as an annual celebration with my wife for NYE at 730. I booked it so far in advance they had not determined to have a fixed price menu yet. When they did I accepted it. When we arrived precisely on time, we were put at a back table. The one couple in waiting before us but not for the 730 seating sat by the windows in one of the three view tables. We were given a choice of menus as not enough people had booked their celebration. Upon seeing the salmon offering we ordered the same. My wife’s food was half cooked even after specifying her preference and enjoying a extra long wait for service. And funny as it is, our portions were half of the other diners at the table next to ours and not presented as we had seen. I assume they ran out of the fish and did not want to tell us when they gave us each a half portion. Since we stayed beyond the other couples time and through dessert, we assume we should have been shown a better time. By the time we left they were beginning to shut down. Oh wow, they added so much to our holiday celebration?!? thankfully my wife never blames me for my effort.
Great food, charming atmosphere, wonderful attentive service.
Great little restaurant tucked behind the fish throwing. Nice wine list, delicious food, and great view.
It is a small, intimate and romantic restaurant with fantastic views of the waterfront. It is for adults that want a quiet intimate atmosphere to their evening. We save Place Pigalle as our special "go to" place and it never disappoints us. The menu is exceptional and the service is beyond outstanding. Just the right attention to the details. Could not say enough glowing things about Guy, who was our server. He made the evening a memorable occasion. Thank you.
What a gem of a restaurant! Great food, wonderful staff and tucked away in Pike Place Market.
Always a dreamy pleasure. In a city full of shiny and new, a real classic shines through. It’s like a secret little corner of heaven tucked away in the market
Excellent in every way, as always. We were not in any hurry and one of our party was quite late (due to Washington State Ferries) but we got all the attention we needed and had a splendid holiday luncheon, a tradition that might be moved to Place Pigalle permanently! David was awesome!
Had a wonderful, relaxing dinner. Food was very good and couldn't complain about a thing.
From start to finish the staff make you feel special.
Every time I come over from Port Townsend, I try and have dinner there. I probably get there about five times a year. I always ask for a window seat when I make the reservation. This Saturday night all tables were full. Ok fine, I get that. She tried to seat us at the table right next to the door when other tables were available. We finally got seated and yet before ordering, a window table opened up. I jumped up to ask the waitress if we could move. She said no, she had already given the table to another person. That persons party wasn’t even there yet, which is posted against the rules.
I told her that I didn’t think that was right but she just smiled and repeated she had already given the table away.
It was supposed to be a special birthday event with my sister who had flown in from Alaska. Those kind of things don’t ruin an evening for me because the food and service is usually fabulous. But if she had ended up being my server, she would not have gotten a tip.
Started our life in Seattle at this iconic restaurant and 20 years later it is still one of our favorite spots !!
Wonderful, as always. Great views, great food, excellent service. This is where we go when we want to give ourselves a treat.
As usual, the food at Place Pigalle was delicious, the service attentive, and the view magnificent.
Duck, duck, duck
Place Pigalle is a favorite spot for both business and intimate dinners. The menu is small but varied which means the quality and presentation is superb. I’ve had their Wild Salmon, duck and rabbit roulade: all excellent. The wait staff is usually quite good- knowledgeable, unobtrusive, yet anticipatory and attentive- classic fine dining. In our most recent experience, the waiter was friendly, gregarious and entertaining- almost too much so. He seemed to barge into our quiet, intimate conversations to inquire about how we were doing- sort of railroading our conversation like a bon vivant. We think he meant well but it was a bit much after a while. Still love the place and highly recommend
I hadn't been here for several years, but the food and entire experience was just as good as it used to be if not even better. The host was particularly friendly and helpful.
Always enjoy meals here and a quaint, classic spot. Our server was good but only one handling the whole room and at times he was rushed and we had some gaps in service but we were not in a rush so not a major issue.
The fresh oysters are always great here and should be since they are in the heart of the market.
Don't want too many folks to discover!!
One of the best waiters I have had in a long time. I think his name was Joe, but was fantastic in every way. Very knowledgeable about the menu, had great recommendations on the food and wine and was overall delightful. He really loves his work and it shows. Made our experience really memorable. Outside of that, the food was fantastic and the setting is very charming. Not what I was anticipating next to a tourist hub.
Bouillabaisse was excellent
Not the same as I remember from past experiences. The food was unremarkable.
Our time at Place Pigalle was spent with good company and great service. We ordered the calamari and warm beet salad as a starter and appetizer. The flavors are magnificent! I was disappointed in the salmon dish (a Chef's special that was started pan seared and then finished in the oven, topped with crab.) This felt void of any seasoning or flavor and after the first two courses being so thrilling, this was an unworthy finale. I would return to try a different entree and for the wonderful, attentive service we received.
Great food, they took care of us and even gave us dessert for our anniversary.
Excellent service and food—old timey, but not out-of-touch.
It was great!!!
A hidden gem amongst the clutter of Pike's Market. Great tasty food, fresh ingredients, pleasurable staff. cozy feel and a view. What beats that? Not many places around this area.
