The resulting dishes "always have been artful, always entertaining, always fresh...disarmingly successful."
Couple such critical acclaim with a wonderful Elliott Bay and Olympic Mountain view, an award-winning wine list and a bar that specializes in the unusual and you have the reasons for this Pike Place Market restaurant's success.
This is one of my favorite places downtown. Small place with views and great food.
Delightful greeting , generous team , thoughtful, seasonal and regional food was extremely delicious ... a smash hit !
In general the food here is innovative typic french bistro style menu. Unusual selections like Duck confit and rabbit not the best rendition. No one can fault the view, if you get a window its amazing.
Wonderful food and great ambiance. Amazing bartender lady.
So great that this classic spot continues to thrive. I think their menu is better than ever! And tonight's views..!!
A small intimate restaurant hidden in the middle of Pikes Place Market. We we greeted quickly and warmly and seated right away. The waiter was very personable and helpful with the menu selections and the wine pairing to go with it. The food was perfectly prepared and brought to the table in a reasonable time. It was a wonderful dining experience and I am looking forward to returning in the future. Because of its popularity and the small size of the restaurant, I would most definitely recommend reservations.
The rabbit roulade was amazing. The chef came out and talked to us: he told us that the restaurant gets fresh rabbits from a local farm (and also other produce). The bitter greens and beans could have been a main dish!
Tiny but welcoming space with great food and service
We’d been to the restaurant several years ago and we’re still talking about the food. You did NOT disappoint:)!!! Views were awesome. Service was fabulous. Food was incredible!!! Will def return for dinner whenever we get to Seattle. We also referred several ppl from our conference as well. Thank you!!
My friend and I decided we needed to celebrate our "stupid" birthdays which are close to each other. So we went out for lunch at Place Pigalle, ate yummy food at a table with the most spectacular view of Elliot Bay, the ferries, ships, and the waterfront imaginable. The bartender created made-to-order drinks for each of us (mine was with coffee, Baileys, Tia Maria, whipped cream, hers with hot chocolate and "adult beverages") Anyway, this was a perfect lunch on a beautiful, sunny October day in Seattle. Who can ask for more?
We brought a friend to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving. She had the Dungeness Crab and Canadian Salmon; I had the freshest oysters from Willapia Bay and the Lamb Steak: it was perfectly medium tender. Other friend had the. Steamed mussels with bacon and Duck Breast. We enjoyed some special wine that we brought from Portteus Vineyards in Yakima (corkage fee $30). The wait staff was outstanding — Guy was very attentive and thoughtful throughout. First rate food and service.
Small and wonderful restaurant. The location (Pike Market) and view (Puget Sound) are unique. The food is consistently very good. Have enjoyed this place for many years.
Place Pigalle is old school Seattle French awesomeness. I've eaten here a few times, and it's always been good. The service is warm and professional, and knowledgeable about the food and wine (and pairing!). We ate here in early October and had a meal that was nearly perfect. Every dish was excellent, and the dijonaisse calamari was perhaps the best calamari we've ever had. You may ask, what made it just "nearly" perfect? The espressos were only warm, not piping hot. Having just returned from Italy, we noticed the difference, but this is nitpicking what we remarked on as an extraordinary meal. The front of house also really took care of us nicely.
I have been dining at Place Pigalle since the 80s; it never fails to please! The menu has kept some dishes over the years (the mussels) but also changes to reflect the seasons. Everything is beautifully prepared and delicious. The service hits that rare mark where you never lack for anything, but it's not intrusive. Looking forward to our next visit!
Phenomenal but expensive. I would go back. It's probably worth it. The food was amazing. It's also in the center of the market. I just wouldn't be able to afford going very often. Special occasion.
Delicious and creative food. We had octopus and sausage stew which was unique and delicious. Also, the pork chop was tasty. Small, local place with great ambiance.
Celebrating a new promotion. Outstanding service at the bar. The cocktail was excellent so much so that that I had a second.
- Not entirely expected but it would have been nice to have a vegetarian option on the menu.
- Certain dishes were overpowered by a single spice.
- We celebrated a grandmothers birthday there, we let them know but no acknowledgment was made; we didn’t expect a desert or anything over the top but just a nod to her day in some way would have made the service special, average otherwise.
I love this little restaurant tucked behind Pike's Place. Lovely views of the harbor. The food is beautifully prepared and the service is impeccable. It is not cheap but it lives up to its price.
Great place, small and intimate. Excellent waitstaff, food and wine list.
Well the thing is, we’ve been there before and had great service. This time, he just kept disappearing for long periods of time and then was oversolicitous upon his return. Even though I let him know it was our anniversary, he just thought being schmoozy and vague would get him 20%~ I absolutely
know what it’s like to be a server, etc., and he had exactly 2 other table and was not slammed, so what was he doing? I had to go find him to get our bill. So tired of crappy service in this town. 🙁
We had a wonderful dining experience while celebrating my daughter’s college graduation on Saturday evening. From appetizers to dessert, the food was great. The service was amazing and not intrusive. The wine selection were good and priced well.
The only reason I gave the food four stars is that the pork chop was tough to cut. It was juicy and flavorful so don’t be afraid to order it.
There was no rush to finish. We had a amazing time and got to watch the
lighting show over West Seattle. That view cannot be copied.
We will be back for sure.
Two cioppino; both luke warm. One rigatoni was ok but not hot or that tasty. Not a remarkable experience. Thunderstorm and lightening made for an interesting display; apparently unusual for the area. Nothing compelling to want to return.
We visited Friday night, restaurant was very busy. Only one waiter was taking orders for entire tables. There were two waiter only serving food or taking out dishes. I think he was trying hard to take the order from all customers but I think the restaurant needs another waiter who can take order. We waited quite bit to order, served food. Food were Ok not very special to us.
It was sunny outside and we were able to sit on the patio which was amazing. The fish guys were loudly cleaning up from the day at the market behind us which added to the ambiance, but may or may not be what you were looking for. 🦐
we were so sad. one of our favorite restaurants. the service had to be begged for - including the menus. two out of 4 dinners very poor, one sent back.
thats our last visit. very unhappy.
Perfect day for lunch at Place Pigalle. First time for my friend, who loved it, and I am never disappointed.
We enjoyed a wonderful anniversary dinner at Place Pigalle. We chose Un Plateau de Fromages as our starter and it was fantastic. I had the salmon special and my husband chose the Tuna special. The salmon was perfection, the tuna was too salty for our taste. Lovely place for a special celebration!
Wonderful meal. Really enjoy going somewhere with a unique menu. Service was very good, helpful in understanding the unique menu. It has been a while since we ate at Place Pigalle, but we will be back soon.
Service was top-notch. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening
Delightful gem that serves local and seasonal dishes. It is one of my favorite spots that offers a comfortable and relaxed experience.
Worried that this was in pike market tourist area. But this restaurant turned out to be fantastic.
The food was excellent. I started with rabbit and duck liver salad. Blew me away.
The bouillabaisse was next and the ingredients were excellent. My wife enjoyed the salmon, I had to help finish it.
Some sort of chocolate mousse to finish with remainder of a very good red wine from Washington.
The view from our small table was great through the small windows. Our great waiter told us the interesting story about the name Pigalle. Not inexpensive but well worth the money.
EXCELLENT IN EVERY WAY
Wonderful Food and drinks. Always the best. Have been going here since the 80's and never disappointed.
We came here for my fiancé’s birthday and the food was so so so good! And our server was exceptional! His name is Guy. My fiancé and I loved it. We got an outside seat with the view of the sunset. We truly had a wonderful time. Thank you, Place Pigalle!
Service and gratitude for being a customer is at an all time low. Worst service we’ve had in years. Food was good, but the wait for it and the insane plating of other tables before we even saw our first order from the bar or the kitchen was so disappointing. We made the reservation for our anniversary, told them that on the phone- no mention of it- even after we told the server- no special sentiment at all. Rather to the contrary, felt as if we were being ignored. We’ll never go back.
This is one of my favorite spots for lunch in the city. The view is amazing and the food is the best. It makes me think of long European lunches where you never want the meal to end.
As usual, wonderful ambiance, excellent cusine and attentive staff. Asked and waited for a window table which was worth the wait
I was told about this place by a coworker who lived in Seattle for years.. I was skeptical at first but WOW. I’m not usually one to leave reviews but after a five day trip I can honestly say it was one of my favorite parts of Seattle.
I highly recommend, especially as a date spot. Food is on the pricier side but everything we had was phenomenal, service was great, and the views are amazing as well.
