P.J. Clarke's-Lincoln Square
We arrived at our reservation time. We were shown to a table with the sun beating down and against a pillar. Now this was at a time plenty of “good” tables were available. When we asked to have our table changed, we were asked if we wanted to sit downstairs. It was an acceptable option. That said, we could have been offered a better table upstairs. The food and service were very good to excellent. Food prices are appropriate for the area.
This venue is great for its location, right across from Lincoln Center. It is often quite busy and may necessitate a wait, even with reservations. Even so, our family had a good time celebrating my nephew's college graduation and our overburdened waitress did as well as she could with our large party. The food was good and we would go there again.
Took over 30m to get our food and the server didn’t even seem to think that was an issue. Plus it was so expensive for bar food.
Had a reservation. Food and drinks were too expensive for ordinary pub grub.
It's a convenient place to meet for drinks before a show at Lincoln Center, but the food was lukewarm and flavorless.
It was nothing out of the ordinary. Exactly what I expected
Food was good service could be more thoughtful. I don't like when a waiter wants to remove plates before everyone has finished eating
Great service, nice food. The bar area is very loud so they sat us farther back. Missed the scallops on the menu.
Great and easy if you're going to Lincoln Center. Not the best quality food and the prices are a little expensive, even for the neighborhood.
Overall OK. Good food, good service, nice staff. Nothing too special though. Overpriced but what do you expect in NYC? Convenient location to Lincoln Center was why we were there. Main improvement would be to lower to noise level, especially juke-box blasting songs at high volume which made conversation difficult if you were nearby. It was kid-friendly, which we appreciated.
Our fish tacos were dreadful. Dry almost no MahiMshi, and no sauce, until we asked. Noise
was unreasonable. Price, for what we got, was excessive. Last time we visit
Love the food, great service, waitress was very polite and food came out fast.
Small menu. Overpriced. My husband’s chicken paillard was very tasty for the most part. Two nice sized chicken pieces. One piece was excellent but the other was not as tender. My fallafel burger was mediocre at best. Should have been on a heartier roll. Iced tea is served in a tall, slender glass with too much ice so not much to drink. At least refills are at no extra charge. Overall, completely underwhelmed.
A snack 2 different soups promptly served generous portions but not very distinguished. Complacent not hostile service.Great location for Lincoln Center.
The service was horrible. Waiters are not interested in serving and it wasn’t even that busy at the time we went. The food was not great. We ordered wings and steak entrees. Steak was blah. Sides were missing. We had to find someone else to help us. Dessert menu is a joke. They will bring you whatever they want instead of the actual dessert you ordered. I would never go back and pay so much money ($200 for 2 people) for crappy food and crappy service. It’s a shame because the location is great for pre show at Beacon and Lincoln center.
Outstanding food as usual and always impeccable service by Juan! I love this place and it is a great location in NY.
Waitress rarely came by table and; when there was a problem with one of the items we irseres, she did not offer to replace it. I had to find a manager.
We love P.J. Clarke's. The wait staff couldn't be friendlier or more considerate, and the food is always good. We usually have a young child in tow, and he loves it too!
My husband loved the steak frites. The banana dessert was delicious and big thanks to the server who double checked to make sure it had no cinnamon.
Very nice and warm place, good food and perfect service. There was a loud chit chat noise but it was worth and pleasant dining there. Maybe a little too much expensive if compared to European standard, but the food was delicious and the beer was great. Quite recommended the COUNTRY CHICKEN POT PIE.
Great location and convenience, nice service, but a so-so burger and unmemorable ambience.
Restaurant staff is outstanding. Food is good, made better by the excellent server we had. I was with a friend from SFO who had never been to PJ's. She loved it. A consistent restaurant with a soul and an old-time NY feel. It is a great refuge from places like Hudson Yards.
Loved the service and great music!
Family night out for dinner, cocktails, and the NYC Ballet began at P.J. Clarke’s conveniently located mere steps from Lincoln Center. We were cordially greeted by staff who showed us to our reserved table even though we were quite early (thank you!)
Our waiter, Tice (spelling) introduced himself promptly and took our orders. My younger daughter eats vegan, Tice made some suggestions that the kitchen offered for vegan diners. (PJs doesn’t offer much at all to welcome vegans). Their bragging about the freshness of their oysters is well deserved, I always start off with 6 on the half shell when dining here. I’ve had many meals here and most have been fresh, presented well, and tasty.
One awkward note- timing: I had only consumed half of my appetizer when my entree came to the table, hmm. Never happened before, so we chalk that up to things that might happen in a restaurant that is serving such a large number of meals at dinner, frankly I am amazed that things go as well as they do here. (Compliments to the manager, chefs, and waitstaff)
All in all, P.J. Clarke’s is a sure bet for an agreeable experience pre-Lincoln Center, I highly recommend giving them a try when you’re in the area of one of their locations.
Good service, loud, fun, overpriced, great location.
Ordered a starter salad and a burger. Both items came together. Server took burger back and explained kitchen would remake. When burger was delivered, both burger & fries were cold. Our reservation was at 11:30 so it wasn’t as if they were busy.
My girlfriend and I were going to see my fair lady at Lincoln Center. The location was perfect and the service was amazing the food was delicious perfect in every way
Waiter made sure our food came on time to enable us to go see the Opera on time.
My daughters and I were going to see My Fair Lady @ Lincoln Center. Food and service were excellent. We always eat here when we go to any shows at Lincoln Center.
One of my "go to" restaurants in Lincoln Center. The burgers are always a delight and cooked perfectly!
Had a great lunch of lobster roles. Highly recommend
Great food, but service for this woman eating alone was sub-par
Friendly & courteous as usual. Our hostess Jackie was particularly nice.
Our server was great; very friendly and accommodating.
Made an early reservation (5:00) ahead of show at Lincoln Center. Was staying right at the Empire Hotel which is like 9 steps away. Split a filet and Caesar salad with my daughter and felt very well attended to even as the place got busier by the minute. Perfect spot ahead of a Lincoln Center event.
We had a late dinner after a show at Lincoln Center. There were 7 people in our party. We were late for our reservation, but the staff were very accommodating.
Excellent restaurant. Love going here for the wonderful food and service. Great location. Highly recommend it. I usually get the seafood because it is done so beautifully.
Delicious lunch well served
Food was bland and overpriced. Chose it because of its proximity to Lincoln Center. The place seems to rest on that. The mahi mahi tacos has no taste. The chicken was a bit undercooked with chewy skin left on. The burger was okay. Wouldn’t have minded paying so much for the meal if it tasted good. Service was a little slow but friendly. Desserts were quite good. Cappuccino and espresso machine was broken. Would not go back
