P.J. Clarke's-Lincoln Square
There was no rush to get us out and I appreciated that.
PJ Clarke even in basement is noisy!
It is a place for young 30 somethings and not for quiet meal and conversation. Families with rowdy kids were downstairs. Food was good.
We were seated quickly which was wonderful as we were on a tight schedule due to theater tickets. The waitress attended to us right away as far as taking food and drink orders but then we never saw her again. A food runner brought our meals but did not offer ketchup, napkins, another round of soda and beer... we had no water even though I asked twice. Overall, the food was good, the service was mediocre and I would have loved another beer or at least some water. It was an “ok “ experience- nothing special.
Great location. Varied menu. Friendly service. Lively atmosphere.
So loud we could not hear each other
We went there for drinks and some food after a performance at the Met opera. Very convenient and good.
The waiter was terrible. He paid us little attention and got our order wrong. He did talk to another table for a long time.
Classic New York experience, executed perfectly by the friendly and efficient staff. The pub burger is terrific
Had brunch there on Sunday. Breakfast food was lukewarm. Potatoes were dry. It was as if food had been prepared day before and was ready to cook that day. Prices were very expensive, probably reflecting the convenience to Lincoln Center. Bar drinks were very good as was the service.
We have always found the restaurant to be friendly and the food very good. Their prices are reasonable. Its a great place for comfort food. Highly recommend the baby back spare ribs and you cannot beat their hamburgers.
Perfect! Great service, food and for the location very reasonably priced
Our server, Amanda, was outstanding - very friendly, very helpful, and when she saw that my burger had been very undercooked for my tastes, immediately jumped on it and got me a new one. Really a great representative for your restaurant.
Great mussels! Can’t beat the location when going to the Met.
The server was excellent. The drinks were mostly ice and rather expensive for the size of the drink. The food was okay. I ordered a club sandwich that was mostly crust and not much more. The presentation was great and looked like a lot of food but once you started to eat it you realized that there was not much there .
Great drinks and food.
Lunch prior to the opera at the met.
My friends, who had never been there before, were very happy with their dinners. I ordered the chicken paillard which was tasty but the chicken was not "paillarded." It was an enormous, thick piece of chicken. It should have been half the amount of chicken pounded thin. The restaurant seemed noisier than usual. My friends and I were shouting at each other. But, I will keep eating there because it is close to Lincoln Center venues.
Very good service and convenient to Lincoln Center. Great, unpretentious variety of meal options pre/post show! Moderate prices!!
The fish and chips had way more batter than fish!
The chicken pot pie was bland.
Best thing was the key lime pie which was scrumptious.
Service was good but the chef could be better!
Bustling and a bit noisy, very convenient to Lincoln Center. Basic foods all good and quickly served.
It’s best if you have a reservation for this restaurant because the lines are long to be seated without one. The menu is varied. My lobster Cobb salad was tasty with enough lobster to justify the cost. Having a pepper allergy was treated importantly brought over by the manager. However the chicken pot pie was very Liquidy. The fish and chips were very crusty. Food service was adequate.
Great for pre theatre near Lincoln Center
Dinner before theater at Lincoln Center’s Vivian Beaumont Theatre, so very convenient place to grab a bite. I do love lobster roll and the entree was very fresh, very tasty. They also had Sancerre by the glass which was cold and crisp.
Easy, predictable restaurant to have dinner when attending Lincoln Center performances.
Ordered chicken pot pie, not good.
The menu selections are perfect for a variety of preferences. You cannot get a better location than across from Lincoln Center, especially if you're seeing a show. It's always such a positive experience and I always look forward to returning. I recommend that you make a reservation in advance, if possible. No matter where you're seated, you'll enjoy the atmosphere of PJ Clarke's and the food is very good... no matter what the selection. If you like bread with your dinner, don't be afraid to ask. The wait staff only bring if asked. ENJOY!!!
Service was unusually horrible! Waited for forever for a hamburger and a salad while tables all around us were being served - particularly galling since they all were seated long after we were! Waiter couldn’t have cared less! Captain bought one coffee as an apology! Amazing!!!
Always enjoy eating here. The seafood is fresh, the drinks are perfect, and the service attentive, kind, and very efficient.
Pedro was an excellent waiter!
Good place to go before an event at Lincoln Center.
Food just OK. Service was good. Not a good value for your money, but hey it's a great location.
Nice atmosphere and decent service - a little slow but attentive when they were engaged. Food is standard fare; we had lamb burger and caesar salad. Cheesecake desert was great. Reasonably good value. We would go again.
We stopped in for lunch after the taping of a day time talk show. There were four of us and we ordered three different items. Two people ordered the same menu item. Everyone loved their lunch. Our wait person was excellent. She was very cordial and efficient. She refilled our water glasses and offered refills of our other beverages without being asked. We were able to enjoy a leisurely lunch with friends.
Good food, family friendly, great portions yet not expensive which is hard to find in the Lincoln center area. I’d def recommend :)
Great food & grub as always!
My friends and I have been here several times. Most of the food has been superb. Service has been outstanding. However, I believe it's overpriced. Here are some comments on food we had this time.
- The "Proper Fish & Chips" were the best we've ever had--and we've been to London! The batter is as light as air, and the fish was SO moist!
- Fish tacos: Great combo of mahi-mahi and yummy stuff. The server warned me that she has gotten complaints in the past that the fish was dry. I appreciated her honesty and fair warning. I got them anyway, and the fish was not dry at all. Maybe they got so much negative feedback that they addressed the problem. Which is great.
- Bluecoat gin with elderflower tonic! Best G&T I've ever had.
- Cosmo: if you don't mind a sweet cocktail, it's really delicious and refreshing.
Not so great:
- Lobster roll: It was $32.50. For that price, it should be pct. But the dressing was runny, and the lobster was tough/overcooked. Flavor was good, though. The bun was as it should be, a really soft potato roll. But the softness of the roll made the toughness of the lobster very noticeable.
-Cheddar tater tots: they didn't seem very potato-y. Texture was not of shredded potatoes, which provide all those nooks & crannies for the frying to be crispier. The texture out side was curiously smooth and not very crunchy, and inside the consistency was too even. Instead of shredded potatoes, it almost seemed like polenta or something. Not what we expected.
This is a very attractive restaurant & the food is very good as well as the service. And it's so convenient to Lincoln Center Performances.
Great food, great location for people seeing a performance at Lincoln Center. A little expensive, but I don't eat there every day :-)
I had the Deluxe from the Raw Bar. All tasty, all fresh.
Great place to grab a dinner near Lincoln Center....cold beer and lobster rolls! What could be better?
