P.J. Clarke's-Lincoln Square
We came with 2 kids, 8 and 12, and were seated in the basement. The noise was excruciating. A crying kid echoes 10 fold. And the food was mediocre at best, although the service was great!
We had a very good meal, went here before going to Luncoln Center. Great choice amd recommend it. We will return
Skip The Burger!!!
I ordered a PJ Clarke Burger ( medium rare) with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion and it was absolutely tasteless.
The inside was perfectly rare, but the outside was a mousy colored grey.
I may be wrong, but I think the burger was steamed rather than grilled.
Food was very good pub-style. Service good but not great. Kind of noisy but as expected.
We booked PJ's for a late night celebration and the entire staff was most accommodating. The food was great, the service wonderful.
Had reservations after the theatre at Lincoln Center. Were lucky enough to get three seats at the bar. Fun bartenders, great meal and lively conversation with the staff and guests. We enjoyed sitting at the bar to meet new people and get ideas for the local see and do.
very slow service and the food came out cold. disappointing as I have been before and the experience was better.
Very convenient for dinner before a concert or show at Lincoln Center.
Location was great for the Met. Waitress was lovely. Good was excellent and price was quite reasonable.
Burger is delicious and cooked to perfection! Great for pretheatre
Pre opera supper. First time at Clarke’s, though I’ve been a Met subscriber for 30 years. Oysters were perfectly chilled and delicious (if a bit pricey). Cadillac burger very good, although the roll couldn’t stand up to its contents. Dessert (sticky toffee pudding) was terrific. All in all, good food and adult beverages well served. We’ll be back.
For NYC, the quality of the food was not worth the price. It was like a very overpriced Applebee’s. The service was super slow. We waited close to 40 minutes after ordering for our $18 burgers. Will not return.
Great option for pre theatre dinner. Warm, friendly and lively atmosphere, with classic pub food, salads and seafood options. Attentive service, which is important for an evening curtain time at Lincoln Center.
Great and classic!
Food was great and served in very good time. Excellent for before or after a show at Lincoln Center!
Having booked a reservation in advance for 6 people, I thought we would be seated upstairs. When I was told we would be downstairs, I explained that we had visitors with us from England and that we wanted a view of Lincoln Center for them. I was told that it was not possible, although there seemed to be tables available that could have been combined for us. I was told it would be closer to the restrooms - hardly the reason for our reservation! Our waiter was friendly, but after he took our order, we had trouble finding him and waited a very long time whenever we asked for him. 4 people had coffee, but were never given spoons, so they had to use forks to stir their coffee, again because the waiter was not around. No one ever came to offer refills of the coffee, until a bus person came to clear and we asked for more coffee then. I have had many better experiences at PJ Clarke's, but only when seated upstairs.
Great food and exceptional service...and a real NYC experience
Great service, and they accommodated our party (that grew from 10-12) without any problem! I was looking forward to a great burger, but it was a bit disappointing with a half inch of peppercorns on top (figured it would’ve been coated in peppers if anything), and not much other flavor - needed to add ketchup, which, unless you love ketchup, shouldn’t be necessary on a $20 burger. Ambiance was fine, but we were below street level, so no windows. Next time I’d request a table upstairs.
Our waitress was superb!
Very convenient to Lincoln Center, which is about the only reason to go here. The food is good but everything is pretty expensive (can’t get a glass of wine for less than $14) and the tables are on top of each other which contributes to the noise level. Service is friendly and attentive. Two of us each had 2 glasses of wine and shared 2 appetizers-pretzel dough wrapped franks in blanket and chicken wings-the bill was $94.
It's really just an overprice fancy burger place. Order came back incorrect and rather than remaking it they slapped a piece of cold cheese on the burger. The least they could have done was melt it. $14 bucks for so-so-so tater tots was ridiculous
Very convenient to Lincoln Center. The burgers and beers were delicious
Our food was delicious and perfectly cooked. Our server Harry was excellent. Definitely a go to place when attending a Lincoln Center event. (Reservations are a good idea)
Just a terrific staff. The Best to All. Friendly waiters and stress the requests of all
Nice atmosphere .
PJ Clarks is a great spot for good food and great service especially before or after any event at Lincoln Center. When I have tickets to anything there I make a reservation! That being said, without a reservation this place is CROWDED and the waits can be long. The mac and cheese if fantastic as a sharing appitizer or a small snack. My second favorite is the fish and chips. They make their own tartar sauce and man... it is fantastic. We usually pass on dessert but if you like desserts the one we tried was the bread pudding and in a few word... WORTH THE CALORIES!
Horrible service. Not accommodating of little kids.
Grandkids going to the circus
We had the best experience! Jennings was the best server we had on our trip to the city! He was full of great suggestions and even better service. The food and atmosphere were also great at a great price point also!
Mom's 79th! Friendly awesome staff Best waiter good great Cant say anything negative
The service and the ambience was awesome as always. I usually have the classic Clarke's Burger. It's always a good choice. This time it was not up to the usual standard. Maybe, the fact that the restaurant was very busy had to do with this. It was really a surprise. PJ's has always been a number one restaurant.
Our server was terrific. Onion Rings arrived cool....he took care of it immediately.
Steak was great - grilled to perfection.
Overall, a good experience.
We went there for Christmas dinner. I have been there once with my husband and had always wanted to go there with a group. We were disappointed to see that the special menu was all seafood as 4 of our party of 6 don’t like seafood and one was a vegetarian. We were also really shocked that the only vegetarian options were salad and soup. This is 2018 and there were no vegetarian entrees?? My son had to come home and eat again because bread, salad and soup weren’t enough. Also, our waitress was not pleasant. We live here in the city and I’ve had friendlier and warmer servers at the diner. She never wished us a happy holiday, she was short and when we asked about vegetarian options she bluntly said “Nope. You’ll have to get a salad.” She didn’t even offer to go to the kitchen to see if anything could be specially made. The burgers we ordered were cooked as ordered and they tasted fine but for those prices, nothing special. We didn’t order the pretentious and expensive desserts. Instead we went somewhere else. Nice lookin place but never again.
Great place, especially nice to sit by the windows. Very courteous staff. Felt welcome and accommodated to a table of our preference without any hiccups. Did I say courteous staff! Our waitress Wiktoria was lovely.
Had a delicious lunch with fabulous service. Our server, Shay, was amazing!
I love that it is across from Lincoln Center. The bartenders are excellent and the staff is attentive.
Exceptional staff, food and drinks; very work a visit anytime.
French fries were underdone. Arugula accompanying omelette had no dressing. No bread served with omelette. Redeeming feature was the server who was prompt, efficient and kind.
I called the restaurant directly to reschedule the time. They were very accommodating.
We selected this place for it's proximity to Lincoln Center. My eggs benedict were served over the hardest biscuits- the home fries were adequate but not favorful. My plate was significantly chipped- which further contributed to the lackluster experience. My daughter ordered the burger and was satisfied. The staff were wonderful! Friendly and competent.
Our table was ready before our reserved time. The food was delicious. We were able to share without any problem or added price. Great experience.
