P.J. Clarke's-Lincoln Square
This was our first time at PJC’s. Was bummed that they were out of the Country Chicken Pot Pie but the Roasted Chicken Breast with Brussels and potatoes was delicious! Enjoyed the Calamari appetizer as well. Great selection of wine. Our waiter was very attentive and noticing our outfits, asked if we were out to see a show, which was nice of him to inquire about our plans for the evening. We will be back!
Busy place right by Lincoln Center. Food was good, service was ok but a little rushed and lacking.
I came here for brunch/lunch with a party of 9. It was what I expected - a casual place with good service and good food. The noise level on the main floor was on the loud side but that was fine because we were a large party. The menu offered something for everyone. The entire party enjoyed their meals. This restaurant is especially convenient to Lincoln Center. I’d like to come back and try dinner.
ordered the classic breakfast. Had asked for sausage , got bacon. Also had asked if they did soft boiled eggs. Was told they could. Got 2 cold hard boiled eggs instead. Also toast was cold. Husband had French toast that he enjoyed. Server was personable - don't know how my order was so screwed up.
The staff is fantastic, very friendly and nice... even when you show up after the opera at midnight.
Much too noisy. The wait staff was good...she tried. My main course arrived before I finished my salad.
Was a busy night with the Met having a performance, but PJ Clarke's should have been able to handle it. We were 4 adults and 5 kids. Once our waitress realized this, she lost all interest in providing us the service we have gotten in the past. In fact, we saw her to take our drink orders, to take our dinner orders and then when we had to run her down to pay our check (after someone from the kitchen actually stopped by to ask how our dinner was). Food was all good. Kids were entertained and never knew this was occurring, but it was noticeable and disappointing to all of the adults at the table.
I went here by myself on a Saturday evening prior to attending a performance of the New York City Ballet. My waiter was excellent. He did not rush me through my cocktails nor dinner and did not at all ask me why I was dining solo. I had the Faroe salmon. It was delicious and just the right portions. I also had 2 Manhattan cocktails. They were wonderful and the bartender did not skimp on the alcohol. I would definitely return to PJ Clarke's and recommend it.
This used to be my favorite restaurant of all time. On our anniversary date we decided to go to P.J. Clarke’s, but were very disappointed after. The table was booked for 7:30pm, but when we came in we were sat at the random table and shortly another couple was sat right next to us, but so close that it seemed like we were all having dinner together. We asked to move, just because we wanted to feel like we are on a date, and there were plenty of vacant tables in the back of the restaurant so we were able to get a table that was just for two. But because we were sat at the different table our appetizers got served to the previous table and people sitting there happened to order the same thing so they ate it. Overall, after all the years of going here and enjoying the atmosphere and service, this was a very disappointing experience. I would still suggest the restaurant to my friends because the food is amazing, but I am not planning to go back for a long time.
Love the food and location. The waiter was terrific
Following a performance at Lincoln Center - we had a very bad late-night dining experience.
The hostess did not know what she was doing and it caused delays and a logjam at the entrance.
This resulted in Open Table reporting that we had not honored our reservation.
The Martinis were not cold and the french fries were not hot.
The restaurant was half full but everyone was jammed into just part of the space, resulting in high noise level.
The waiter had too many tables and service was therefore slow, even though he was really hustling.
All in all - a bad experience. We will not return.
Food was cold. Service was slow. Still enjoyed the food, but there are better restaurants for the price.
I've eaten at this PJ Clarke's several times and each time vowed to return. The wait staff is attentive without being overbearing. I've had steak, lobster roll, pot pie, all superb. Also, they make very good drinks and the tables are not so close together as to be uncomfortable. I'm looking forward to my next meal there. They have a banana cream pie (accompanied by glaceed slices of bananas) that is indescribable!
This is a great spot for lunch before a Lincoln Center matinee. Food choices were perfect and the service and attitude of all the employees was outstanding. Will definitely go back.
We've gone to this place a few times before heading to a show at Lincoln Center. The food is usually good.
One person in our group ordered the fish & chips, and it was absolutely tasteless. We asked the waiter what fish they used, they claimed it was cod, but it was tasteless. The tartar sauce also had a slightly strange flavor.
I wouldn't NOT recommend going there, but wouldn't order the fish & chips.
We love the burgers and the margarita's and we shared the most delicious cherry dessert that was like a sweet and sour souffle. It is such a good value and only steps from Lincoln Center so we come here often.
food was good. service wasn`t bad either except we waited very long for desert and decided to cancel it because we were pressed for time . it is a bit tight and very noisy but overall it is good if you make your reservation way ahead of time.
Service was excellent. Spinach and Feta cheese omelette was outstanding. A heap of Arugula was on the plate without dressing. The veggie omelette was very good, too, but again, a heap of plain Arugula on the plate. Balsamic vinegar was brought to us after asking for it. Fish and Chips was alright.
Pedro our server went out of his way to make dinner one of the best.
Service was very good and food was good as usual
Lunch before show at Lincoln Center. Delicious food and attentive service made this an enjoyable visit.
Very pleasure. Old world pub decor with excellent service.
Just terrific service from our waitress, and warm welcome from the staff at the door — plus food was delicious
My turkey burger was overcooked and there wasn't enough aoili - some should have been provided on the side. The fries were terrible - cold and hard!
We came for Sunday brunch. Nice selection, reasonably priced very attentive service.
Not nearly as expensive as many of the other options near Lincoln Center, but the result is food that is just middle-of-the road. Nothing our group of 4 had stood out at all, but one big caveat: none of us had the burger, which we've heard good things about from others. On the positive side, the drinks are very good, with generous pours and an interesting small batch gin & tonic menu. Also, love the across-from-Lincoln-Center vibe.
When you're headed to an event at Lincoln Center, there is probably no better place for a quick and reasonable meal. Service is efficient, and the food consistent. Reservations are highly recommended.
Great Lincoln Center gem; I usually visit for lunch before the ballet. Meet lots of interesting people. This time was there for dinner; it was really crowded.
Staff is very attendant. If anything is wrong with your meal, etc. they jump on a solution immediately.
Very good food—-good variety on menu. Attentive, professional service—-Made sure to get us out in time for the ballet. Located across the street from Lincoln Center.
We stay at The Empire Hotel and often go to concerts at Lincoln Center. We think PJ Clark’s is THE BEST
For pre-concert dinner...staff is unfailingly helpful, service is quick and the menu has lots of delicious options.
This is my go to spot before lincoln center shows. This time tho very disappointed by the food and service. Hopefully it is an isolated incident.if i want pressed for time, i would have sent back the burger it was cold and the fries were cold. I had to track down the server to get the check after waiting for decent amount of time.
Cold food and inattentive, enough for first timers never go back.
We only had 45 minutes to eat because we had tickets for the opera. They rushed our order for us and were very accommodating.
The prosecco and trout were excellent. My fiancé had the steak and brussels sprouts. I would definitely go back!
One of my favorite NYC institutions. Great fish taco, my kids loved their food and whole experience. Oh and right next door to Lincoln Center!
Super friendly staff that made sure we ordered our food in time to both enjoy it and catch our show.
We went to P J Clarke’s after going to the movies. We had a reservation for 7:00 and the place was hopping. So if your planning on going make a reservation. We had Buffalo wing which were great. The tomato soup is the best I’ve ever had. Then we had Fish tacos, delicious.
Super convenient to Lincoln Center. Prices were comparable to other Manhattan restaurants, which is to say they were very high. Food was okay. A 6 oz. coke was $4, a 1000% markup on the supermarket price; a glass of prosecco was $13, water was free though.
Loved the mac and cheese appetizer - that was fantastic. The burger (Cadillac) was really good. The fries left something to be desired. Seemed under cooked and not seasoned but I still love the place.
Mediocre food with no attention to detail. Bland and overpriced.
Went with a party of 9 and the staff was more than accommodating. Great atmosphere with tons of energy.
