Food at PJ's does up and down...lately mostly down. Drinks at the bar are excellent, but...the food? Urp. Overcooked burger, soggy fries, greasy appetizer (short rib egg rolls--big mistake). We only go here because of the proximity to Linc. Ctr. No other reason to go.
Quiet place for an evening week diner, very good service, good food, good value for money !
Overall experience in this careful pandemic driven atmosphere was great for a reasonably quiet business lunch. What was not appreciated was the staff members shouting out to each other from across the room Thankfully, they stopped and apologized when asked. Shouldn't have had to ask.
Less than mediocre burgers, so we tried the fish ‘n chips. Everything was so bland. Won’t be back
This is a great restaurant especially if you are headed to Lincoln Center, since it's right across the street. Our dinner was very good and our waiter was great.
We always enjoy PJ Clarke's - friendly staff, good food, great location, reasonable prices.
Food was disappointing and expensive…portions were small and food was slightly below average. Wait staff was friendly, efficient and very helpful.
Excellent hamburgers, as usual.
Our server Michael took really good care of us. We got all that we asked for right away. The food was good and the drinks were cold. Thank you.
Good food. Great location. Menu is back with some old favorites. All I want is the cappuccino machine to work!
Early dinner before show before Lincoln Center
Ran out of several menu items. Food quality poor
We walked in right as they opened, so the staff was still getting situated, but our server was very friendly and pleasant. My husband LOVED the burger and it was cooked and prepared exactly how he wanted it.
It was a very pleasant experience. Selena was a wonderful hostess and our waiter was very nice and efficient. The food was good and was as expected. I like to eat at PJ Clarke when I go to the Met.
Coming from Denver. Here with my granddaughter & her fiancé. We see an opera tomorrow & 2 on Saturday. I suggested PC Clarke for dinner because of a good experience two years ago.
I enjoy the ambiance of PJ Clark’s…. very New York. Service is great and it’s a perfect location to meet up with friends. With that being said it’s not cheap and although the Béarnaise was very good I felt the quality of my Newport steak a bit underwhelming. My friend on the other hand loved her fish and chips. Would I dine there again….yes!
We were indoors, but freezing. Ate with coats on. Crispy Chicken sandwich was inedible. Waiter looked at it to clear table and didn't ask if everything was ok. I didn't want to make other diners uncomfortable, so I said nothing.
Entrees were served before we finished our salads…..just left them on the table…..it was a beef stew and was just Luke warm.
Birthday! So lovely and our waiter was so lovely
My friend and I each had the fish and chips. Cooked perfectly with a lot of "chips." I've been to P. J. Clarke's many times and will return. Great for pre or post Lincoln Center.
It would be great to report that there was a reasonably priced choice for dining in the Lincoln Center area, but this place fails to supply even the simplest of dishes satisfactorily. The fish and chips were super greasy, the chicken pot pie was under-seasoned and even the hamburgers were not cooked to the requested temperature (medium rare showed up practically raw).
Service was pretty good and the desserts were very good, but that's not enough to recommend this restaurant.
Airways dependable service and great food. A classic!
If we come back to New York we will definetly repeat, the food was amazing and the staff very nice and aware.
We made a reservation here because it was closer to where we live and had a menu similar to Rosie O,Grady’s (which we love). The staff was attentive the place was nice. But the two meals we chose were poor. The cod was oily and the chicken pot pie was bland. We won’t be returning.
Everything about our visit fell flat. The food was overpriced and bland. The crunchy chicken sandwich was dull, dark meat chicken. Not much we’d recommend from our lunch.
The staff went above and beyond on Christmas Day.
The food was great, the service was lovely and during a time when we are all needing to be patient and flexible - everyone made Christmas memorable.
Will absolutely be back.
Almost like the most famous PJ at 3Ave. Same good food, same good service
My friend and I had the wonderful chicken pot pie which the server had recommended. We wanted to have dessert but the options were limited so we skipped it. The restaurant could provide more options. Other than that, we had a great experience and will certainly return again.
Good location and good food. Had lunch here right before Christmas Eve met performance.
Parents were in town for Xmas. Dinner after opera.
There seemed to be some mix up with the order. Our entrée took 30 minutes to be served.
We were there for a long time, and it was nice that we didn’t feel pressured to leave. Our attending waiter was mediocre as far as service; he didn’t know if certain items on the menu were available; he didn’t offer us water at the start of our visit; he didn’t have the table cleared before he brought dessert; he didn’t correct the bill before presenting it; and more. He may have been new.
I found the food a few steps down from previous visits: some of it was extremely salty, plating was common/ uninteresting, fried items were greasy. I hope they get it together soon. I always enjoyed going there….I will probably not return until I hear some good news.
Always a nice place to visit the atmosphere is very good, the food this time was a little disappointing- Fried Calamari was poor
Awesome!! Best burger in town!
Hardest part of the meal was getting to the table. Hostess had some trouble organizing all the dinners.
I got fish and chips; there weren't a lot of options for vegetarians. I do eat fish, but eat a lot of salmon so avoided that. I was looking for a veggie burger, but didn't see one (maybe I missed it); that would be a good addition. I got the fish and chips and it was good.
There weren't a lot of dessert options. I came with two children and they just wanted some strawberry ice cream, but there was only a brownie sundae and an apple dessert so we went to Starbucks for hot chocolate and scones.
Overall, I enjoyed PJ Clarke's; we went to Lincoln Center to see the Nutcracker and it was easy to walk over with a 5 and 6-year-old, so that was nice. The atmosphere was great, service was great and very friendly (we were seated right away and asked several times if we needed anything more). And I was pleasantly surprised at the price, which was very reasonable for NYC. I would take the children here again if we were nearby.
We had the best waiter in the world who made the best cosmos. The burger was delicious but the fries were not at all. But overall it was a good experience.
