We love going to this restaurant, especially now during the pandemic where were able to sit outside. Overtime we’ve gotten very comfortable with the servers and enjoy the food quite a bit. It’s one of our favorite go to places right now!
Safety protocols were strictly followed by all restaurant personnel. Outdoor dining was very comfortable. Solid service. Great reputation for oysters and burgers is well-warranted. Both were delicious.
The Best. It is perfect.
This is the second review of PJ Clark’s and once again I feel they do not live up to their reputation. In fact, though I was promised a gift certificate for a disastrous past experience which I never received, my friend and I decided to give them another chance as they have a nice outdoor seating area and we live a block away!
We thought we were going for happy hour when we found out at 4:59 that it was over at five! We ordered an appetizer and a drink which was very slow in coming. It was cool so we requested that the outdoor heater be lit to find out that two of them nearest us were out of gas!
On a positive note, however, the chili that we both ordered was delicious -probably the best thing on their menu! The wine was a bit bitter-we thought it was perhaps not poured from a new bottle?
As this is supposed to be a quality restaurant, they really need to step up their game.
From the Delicious food (salmon, ribs, deviled eggs) to the top notch service (bartender Dan, friendly food runners), it was a great evening. We’ll definitely return! Covid safety measures in place.
Great, quick and easy
The cheese steak rolls were great but the fish tacos were so bland, totally not worth 20 dollars! We spent 100 for lunch, totally not impressed. The food was okay. Will not be back.
We were visiting Philly for a weekend getaway. Found this PJ Clarke’s near our hotel. We’ve been to one in NYC and we felt it was a perfect choice. We enjoyed our outdoor seating and meal so much we went back for our second night and sat inside by the huge open window. Wait staff was so excellent. Food and drinks were great. Highly recommend if you are on Old City and want a great meal. Super kid friendly too.
Always a good experience there.
Had a spectacular lunch, The warm lobster Cobb salad was spectacular at the service and ambience couldn’t of been better! Overall a great experience had a good value
Good beer selection, delicious burgers, nice manager and waitstaff!
Great atmosphere. indoor and outdoor seating. The fried calamari dish was great!
Lobster roll and ambiance was great. Will for sure be returning.
Fab restaurant, we sat outside tables were well spaced out and staff were wearing masks. Food was delicious
Didnt enjoy anything about it. The food was unsatisfactory, we had meat in a dish that didn’t contain meat. Everything we ordered taste like bacon, we don’t eat meat. We will not go back to this restaurant.
The oysters were great. Was disappointed in the burger. The bacon was a disaster and the burger was undercooked. The fish and chips were good.
Enjoyed eating on the patio and loved the lobster salad
Attentive service. Orders promptly taken and filled. Costs are larger than proportions-
Unfortunately, the entire experience was poor. Food was not fresh or as ordered, coffee was instant and though a meal and coffee was not charged-the server originally brought the wrong check! She was very apologetic about everything but it remains a not enjoyable experience.
Found this place last minute and liked the vibe. Good service, good food, but the best part was they have the best martinis!!
terrific! food was great and service was as well. Great staff
PJ Clark's is my go to restaurant! The food, service and ambiance has always been
a wonderful experience.
The food was served cold, and the quality of the Calamari was terrible , they sent us our new appetizers , manager and server was very nice
We had another awesome evening here with Dan as our server/bartender. Service was perfect and well paced, everything felt safe(plastic partitions between tables, masks). Dan helped choose the perfect type of wine. From the drinks to the food, everything was delicious! We look forward to returning- hopefully, we can find Dan bartending again!
Below average food and service for above average prices.
I ordered a burger and it came out very rare and raw on much of the inside. I asked for another that was cooked more and the next one came out the same. I feel sure our server noticed I didn’t eat the second one, but he said nothing. I ended up eating the sides I ordered and left. I have normally had good experiences at P.J. Clarke’s.
Update: The manager promptly replied to my review and I consider this resolved and I will definitely return.
I love this restaurant both times that so have went the food was exquisite. I had the opportunity to speak with Dan and discuss expanding menu options to include vegan options. He was attentive and encouraged my friend and I to return in a week for specialized menu options. Great atmosphere
Everything was amazing. The managers Dan and Matt were excellent. Food, ambiance, service, cocktails were all 10/10. Cant wait to go back.
We had a wonderful night, we were seated in the in the chapel room. Safe and comfortable. Absolutely love it.
Four at a nice outside table. When the food came, three orders were right, mine was not what I ordered. I did not get my meal until the others were finished eating. And there was no adjustment made on the bill or any offer to compensate for the problem. Disappointing.
Now that the restaurant is serving inside and out
The lessening of attention to details is evident
No silverware until food was served
Requested ice or additional beverage took too much time
The food when served was fine
There just wasn’t enough help
I loved it the food was devine
Service was so slow and I had to get up from the table several times to ask for water and the check.
Excellent service. Always a favorite spot
I absolutely love this place. I will keep going back again and again and again. Want to try everything on the menu!
I have been here several times and usually it has not disappointed. Today we had a horrible service experience. We ordered two salads and two egg dishes. It took more than 45 minutes for the food to arrive with zero explanation from the waiter and food arrived cold. We never received an apology for the food delay or from the waiter at all other than when we flagged him down to get the bill.
My son and I were recently in PA and looking for a special meal. The ambiance and service were five star, but the food was a little disappointing. He started with the shrimp cocktail which he said was delicious, he thought his skirt steak was just OK and my salmon and shrimp pepper appetizer was as just ok as well. We were looking for something with more flavor and something more exciting. We skipped desert.
We really enjoyed our night at PJ’s! The food, drinks and our server were all wonderful. Our table was well distanced from others and we sat outside. Our server was friendly and attentive. Food wise, we had the ribs, Brussels sprouts, the chicken pot pie and the sea bass. The pot pie came with a buttery crust and the pie itself had a lot of sauce and shredded chicken. The ribs were yummy as well and the fries that came with it were sooo crispy and delicious. My partner had the sea bass and really enjoyed the flavor combo of the fish, sauce, fried rice and onions all together. We had a couple of cocktails as well. My favorite was the vanilla breeze which was refreshing and well balanced which is saying something because I don’t usually like vodka drinks. All in all, we would definitely come back here for another dinner date!
Food is unattractive and just fair - selection very limited. Service is friendly but not efficient. Outdoor seating is very nice and as safe as can be expected.
General manager really know how’s to hook up a good date night spot. Good food and great environment
