P.J. Clarke's at the Curtis

My friend and I shared a turkey club sandwich - it was hearty and tasty. We also shared the beet and bean hummus, though my friend thought it needed a little salt, it was delicious.
Pleasantly surprised that it had good food. Initially we thought it might just be another bar type thing. Quality ingredient. Good drinks. Strategic location. Great service. The only downside is that the price is a little high compared to similar establishments.
High quality beautifully presented food. Fairly priced for the quality. Attentive and friendly staff. Always reliable... Been to the PJC in DC many times.
Drinks were small and expensive ($15 martini). Entree Salmon was tasty but the portion was small. Only 1 vege with it no Bread. Nice atmosphere but there are better places to spend your money.
I love PJs. The food, the atmosphere, the service - it's all second to none. It's a tough time for all of us - especially for the food service/restaurant industry - as we try to regain our footing with COVID concerns reemerging, but dining at PJs the other evening was a psychological shot in the arm (and that lobster roll I ate made my belly smile).
Simply put the service was poor.
Also noticed that the restaurant was half empty, which is rare on a Friday evening.
We made a last minute reservation for a larger party (10 people) on a Saturday evening and we’re surprisingly accommodated in our own separate room! The staff was very attentive, friendly, and kind. Our food was excellent and drinks were great! Part of the group even stayed after dinner to sit at the bar for some chocolate martinis!
Really cool atmosphere and great service.
We came for happy hour on a Wednesday(great food and drink specials!). It was crowded at the bar, but cleared out once happy hour ended. We had a bacon cheeseburger, salad and beers for dinner. Everything was delicious! Our bartender, Dan was great - very personable and efficient. The managers Megan and Chris were also really friendly and stopped to check on us. Everything was nice and clean - highly recommended!
Despite sitting outside, the food was very hot when delivered and exactly as ordered.
We got an amazing table on the terrace balcony with a view of the park! Service was great and food was amazing!
Our server DJ was wonderful. Our experience overall could not be beat!
Great time meeting friends at the bar for dinner! We had salmon, macaroni and cheese , hummus, deviled eggs, beer, wine. Everything was delicious! Service by the bartender Dan was great and he was very friendly. Bathrooms were nice and clean! Looking forward to coming back soon!
I am so glad we went back to PJ Clark’s
A whole new wonderful menu
Everything went exactly right and the food was yummy
They have a lot of new things
Definitely worth the visit
All was good except that first two preferences from the menu were not available and it was early in the evening.
The new pricing structure is unsustainable.
Good luck with your corporate accounts - because you have just priced-out a local family lunch. Too bad, because it had become one of our regular choices.
We were a party of four for lunch. When the entrees arrived for only two of us we came to learn the orders had not properly been placed by the waiter for the other two. We waited 15 minutes for the missing entrees and were offered no real acknowledgment other than "my bad" from the waiter. This was not handled as you would expect from such an establishment. Upon leaving the host apologized for the mistake that had been made. This was a business lunch and put a damper on an important meeting. While mistakes do happen, the way it was handled was unacceptable.
The service was great. Very attentive and friendly. The presentation /food lacked luster.
Martinis were perfect, food was excellent, very clean, server was great, and staff was super friendly. I will definitely be back!
Great server and very pleasant experience.
I went to treat myself out for dinner and left feeling like I was being pranked. I’ve been a fan of P.J. Clarke’s for a long time since living in NYC and this experience was certainly not like anyone I’ve had in NYC. My entree was treated like a joke and the effort to remedy the issues were treated as such too.
Everything was great, as usual. We sat at the bar. All of the staff were really nice- hostess, Manager. Food runners, bartender Dan. Our food was phenomenal- deviled eggs, sea bass, lobster salad as lad. It was all SO delicious and we finished everything. Beer and wine were good too. We’ve back soon!
Unfortunately the staff was completely maskless -- masks on the staff would have been appreciated and reassuring that customer safety was being respected by the restaurant. This staffing approach was jarring after encountering fully masked staff at the Philadelphia Four Seasons earlier this week.
Great time sitting outside AND dog friendly, huge plus.
Very relaxing and easy. Excellent food and service.
Good variety of food choices.
Empty in restaurant, full & noisy in the bar (which carried over to restaurant).
Awesome dinner, seated at the bar with large TVs to watch sports. All employees were really nice, service by our bartender, Dan, was perfect! The food(deviled eggs, salmon, fish and chips)was delicious. We’ll definitely be back!
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, friendly staff…highly recommended!!
Things would have been better if our waiter had more experience
He was congenial but the timing of arrival of food and the delay of cocktail dampened experience
We really want the restaurant to succeed but they need consistency
My martini had to be sent back because it was almost all water
So I exchanged it for wine which was forgotten for 20 minutes
The food was fine
I hope the management turns the restaurant around
Great Brunch! We ended up siting inside because of the heat--the wait staff was super accommodating!
Overpriced and food was nasty …………………………..,……… xxx
Food was excellent with the exception of the broccolini
Which wasn’t swimming in oil
The tomato soup and the black bass was especially good. The service was prompt but we waited an extraordinarily long time for our credit cards with bill.
The only criticism was that when my friend ordered a burger, the waiter asked if he wanted the fries. He asked if there was a substitution for the fries to which the waiter pointed to the other sides. So my friend ordered the broccolini and we were charged 8.00$ for that. This was a miscommunication. Apparently the burger does not come with fries. They are extra
We sat at the bar with Dan as our bartender for a birthday dinner. Everything was great, as usual. Food(deviled eggs, salmon, burger), drinks(wine, beer) were delicious. All of the employees were nice seemed to work well together- very nice managers as well! Will definitely be back!!
Outdoor seating is superior with great view of the National Park. Food was very good and very good variety of choices on the menu given the varying preferences of our group. Service was outstanding.
Delightful to eat outdoors, good service. Manager was accommodating, turned down volume of music at our request. I had shrimp cocktail, expensive. It was tough and dry, overcooked. Prices have gone way up since pandemic. Still, glad this place has survived.
The fish and chips and the roast chicken were delicious!
Great with food allergies. Beautiful setting. Good brunch /lunch. choices
We had a fantastic dinner on Saturday night at the bar with friends. Dan, the bartender was friendly, fun and took care of our group well! Other staff(manager, food runners) were also really friendly. Our food( deviled eggs, salmon, burgers, pork) was all fresh and delicious. Great beer and wine list too.
Overpriced on most everything on menu but food is good. The service was strange, appetizer brought with the main meal and had to ask for water and ketchup and splenda for something that should have been offered as part of the service. I sat outside but there was road construction so not very pleasant but that doesn't happen every day...
First time here. Went to PJClarke in NYC in the early 80's nearly every week--great memories of a different world.
We ordered from the cocktail list: a Paloma (grapefruit & tequila) and a Japanese gin & tonic. Both delicious and not ordinary.
We shared 3 courses like we always do:
Started with baked clams--delicious but not really enough to share.
Then chopped salad which was fantastic--almost gazpacho before the blender. Very flavorful vegetables.
Then the swordfish which was prepared perfectly with a sauce (we think mango) that was super light,
Great food, good service, nice Chardonnay by the glass but no wine list (the only negative).
