Pizzeria Via Stato
Ruben was a great waiter and the food was delicious! The chicken Mario is fabulous and the overall service is good! Can be a quick meal if that is what you want or can stay for a full evening of dining!
OK I have lived in Rome for most of my life so I know about Pizza. The pizza at osteria is great. Just the way I like it with a very thin crust like they make it in Rome. This last time it was particularly good. Thank you Chef Edith. Can’t wait to come back.
Visited for lunch. Great pizza and the limoncello martini was fabulous. Good service and a reasonable wait.
Very good food and cool atmosphere
If you're looking for a casual Italian restaurant with pizza and a small selection of Italian entrees, this is an awesome place. The food is awesome and so is the service. This time we had JT and he was fantastic! Would recommend it to friends and plan on hitting it the next time we're in Chicago.
We were there for my sons third birthday. Great food for him and us.
Service was very poor. We had to ask multiple times for items. Our waiter took forever to come ask us if we needed anything and didn’t follow up on how our meal was. The hostess was outstanding however.
Terrific food & outstanding service.
Pizzas were fantastic !
Long wait for service. Poor service from the host desk and the server. Food was very good. Just not worth the price because of the poor service.
Nice ambiance, food was dissapointing. Pizza was meh. Salad was the best part
Not bad but pizza wasn’t the best
The pizza was good. The waiter brought us 3 wine samples so ask to try a new wine if your not sure what to order. We had bread with garlic and oil, grilled octopus and the veggie pizza. All good. The only downside was we were sat next to the door leading out to the patio. It was very disruptive and we should have asked to move as there were plenty of open tables. The host staff should seat that table as a last resort.
Food was pretty good. We sat outside and service was very slow! The waitress was super friendly though.
My wife and I went here before a musical. We went her to try out a new place and we were not disappointed. From the mushroom pizza to the chicken parm that we shared, the food didn't disappoint and the wine selection and the mixed drinks are awesome.
Food was great as always though the service was unusually slow. Dining outside on summer evening was fantastic.
Fantastic lunch special !! Excellent service !! Food delicious !!
We live a block away so we visit multiple times a year but sometimes they get overwhelmed and cant deliver the typically good experience. This was one of those times - took forever to get a waitress, loyalty points not recorded, seated by a service door to the patio which was constantly banging / letting out the aircon.
Advertised as "Just Bring Me Lunch, Pronto," but it was actually quite slow. Currently a LEYE summer scratch off points promotion but never received my points.
Excellent value during happy hour. Several beverages were only $5. Specialty pizza was very good. Waitress and other servers were friendly and able to recommend dishes based on our questions.
This used to be my go to place, took many of my friends over and recommend it to all my friends and family. I returned to Pizzeria Via Stato on Saturday to find that the service and quality has changed drastically. Our server informed us that the Prosciutto Americano Pizza had been removed from the menu, but the chalk board in the restaurant was still displaying this item. I ordered a wine from the menu, our server came back to notify me, that they did not have the wine I ordered. The ricotta cheesecake now is half of the size it used to be. I ordered the Quattro formaggi and I was very disappointed, it was very greasy.
It is very clear that this restaurant has changed owners or management recently, and the new management team has a lot of room for improvement. I will not return to Pizzeria Via Stato.
The service is what made it an amazing evening... Margo ( I believe) was an attentive, helpful waitress who made us feel valued. She credited George as her partner to make the experience happen.
The food is good but the service and staff are amazing!!
We had a reservation for 9pm. Once the hostess seated us with menus, it took 10 minutes until someone (the hostess) came to bring us water. It took 25 mins for someone to come over and take our drink / appetizer order and another 15 mins after that until our (1) drink was delivered. The pizza is so good, but the service is just terrible every time we go there.. there seemed to be plenty of waitstaff and there were plenty of tables still open, so they weren’t full by any means. If this had been the first time, I would have given it a pass but over the past few years, I have gone at least a half dozen times and each time the service seems to be even worse.
We had a party of 10 for pizza and drinks. Our table was up against a register/wait stand..., and just across from the sole bathroom (more in the hotel next store). Service was very good and the pizza (the important part) was good but not great.
Very family friendly and delicious. Our kids love it!
It was a pleasure to sit outside in this perfect weather night, enjoy salad, pizza and chocolate. See you again soon.
The pizza was good, the service was slow. They also only had one bathroom which had a constant line.
They have the best thin crust pizza; we love the Margherita. Also love the octopus appetizer and the arugula salad. Service, as at all LEYE restaurants, is terrific.
OpenTable reservation took a bit to transmit to restaurant.
About what you would expect. Pizza is thin, myself and the girlfriend finished both. Decent atmosphere, somewhat reasonably priced for what you get.
The grill octopus and arrugula salad are amazing. It is a great date night spot.
The service was terrible this time around and the octopus was very mushy and fishy- not good at all. It’s too bad, because we really enjoyed the food and service on our previous visit. Will be a while before we think about returning, too many other options in the area to try.
Came late. Not as good as usual. Used to be my favorite place, now not so much
The pizza there was great, the best in Chicago. I am a big fan of thin crust pizza
The restaurants smelled terribly, we almost walked out after going in, but we stuck it out anyway. The waiter wasn't really attentive and it took wayyy to long to get the awful charcuterie board that could not have taken more than 10 minutes to throw together. Oh, I guess though it may have taken someone some time standing next to a toaster waiting for the bread to toast..... yeah the charcuterie board had this crappy white toasted bread, unappealing grapes, jelly that definitely came out of Smuckers jar and some cheese and meat that looked like it came out of a single serve plastic container from Jewel. Don't even get me started on how absolutely unsatisfying this pizza was. I will not ever be back.
This is one of my favorite places. Even though my friends and I don't come here so often, we appreciate how good this place is (we actually went back there today again).
Thank you to Dario, who is always providing an A+ service!
Chicken Marsala was terrific—-but veal/risotto wasn’t Debra was outstanding waitress Always enjoy OsteriaViaStato
This is a cute old world Italian eatery with I think a proper dining room and a bistro section; we had pizza on the bistro side. The pizzas are very tasty and the service is good. It's a good quick bite and it works well if you need some flexibility, like in our case because we were on our way to theater or a concert.
The sangria was delicious. There was a party in the lobby of the adjacent hotel which had a band. VERY LOUD. Food was ok. Nothing extraordinary.
Did not have high expectations going in but still disappointed.
Pizza was soft/uncooked in the center. Veal meatballs came to me cold. Not just not hot, not even warm. Cold. And once re-served to us hot, they were mediocre at best. Roasted caprese salad is hardly roasted at all, name is totally misleading.
Restaurant does not have properly protected entrance so cold inside on a day with 12 degree wind chill.
Our server was the exception, gave him large tip!
This us a perfect example why we have not been to a Lettuce Entertain You establishment in years. Thought they deserved another look. Looked and done, they failed the test. Fortunately there are so many other amazing options in Chicago, so to those we go!
