Pizzeria Mozza - Newport Beach Ratings and Reviews
We dined here with a group of 7. We were seated on their outdoor patio, it was nice and quiet. Our server was fantastic! He made food and drink suggestions that were amazing! I wish I could remember his name. We've never had a bad experience at Pizzeria Mozza. It's one of our favorites!
Mozza is certainly one of the best pizza places in the country, and the Newport Beach location is as good as the one in LA. The pizza crust is simply astonishing, the best I've ever had; and they design beautiful pizzas around it -- not too over the top, but creative, surprising, and totally delicious. The appetizers are also extremely good at Mozza, not to be missed. They've got a strong wine and beer list as well.
This restaurant used to be the greatest pizza and salads. Looks like The accountants are running the kitchen. Chop salad which used to be full of salami and cheese only 5% from a year ago. Had a very kind into life a waiter but barely spoke English very little knowledge of Italian cuisine. Please restore this restaurant to its former glory
Really enjoyed our first meal at Mozza last Saturday evening.
Servers were informed and friendly and seemed to have plenty of support.
Cauliflower fritti, chicken wings, meatballs, pizza and lasagna were served piping hot and delicious. Something extra about the ingrediants.
Went here for a lunch date. We had a prosciutto, arugula and mozzarella pizza. It was good, but for $24 I would say it was lacking flavor. The waiter was nice but a little pushy for our liking. Overall it was good but probably won’t be in a rush to come back!
This is the third time I have been to this restaurant in Orange County. The First time it was great. The past two, disappointed. The waiters would take off dishes that we were still noshing. The Pizza crust was tough eating, too chewy. Chopped Salad was dry. The Red Onions on the pizza were overly strong leaving you with an upset stomach.
The margarita pizza was bland and cheese was rubber. The meatball app was ok, but too much bread or filler mixed with the meat. Mushroom pizza was ok. Ravioli was one half, yes one half, of a ravioli with a giant ball of cheese on top. The capetto dessert was really good, just way too many peanuts. Service was nothing special. We've tried this place a few times and will not be back.
Being in the hospitality industry, I know that the first impression for any business is always a lasting one. I've been here many times before and have had many different experiences, but I always love to return for the great quality food. This particular occasion there was an EXCELLENT hostess who made that impression the minute I walked in.
Everything was great! Service was awesome. In town from Florida and looking for a good local spot and we found a GEM!! Pizza was GREAT, my wife ordered some beef steak and it was BOMB!! Appetizer was on point and the dessert just put an exclamation point on the dinner! We will definitely be back!
We had been there before and sat outside so it wasn't very noisy. This time the host wasn't very accommodating. We were offered a table by the front door which was very drafty. We refused it. We are seniors. My wife is 82 and did not want to get sick. Outside was unavailable. There were two tables for two side by side inside that could have been put together. The host refused to do it. There was a empty table in the rear near the bar. He told us it was reserved for some VIP's. Finally a table opened up in the small room. Extremely noisy. I doubt if we will be back.
We have been here many times. Never a disappointment. Jonny took care of all our needs and was very helpful. We did sit outside and for some reason the music was blasting which wasn't exactly bad but they couldn't figure out how to turn it down. Pizza is always incredible as are the starters, squash blossoms, meat balls, pane, burrata..........The pizza with the pineapple and jalapeno seemed to lack some flavor, it was just hot to the palate. Desserts, coffe and wine are always a joy.
I was visiting my daughter. I like the closeness of the tables. It makes for a more family atmosphere. The service was top notch. The minute you thought you needed something they staff was there.
The ravioli was daring....but not disappointing. The meal was a wonderful event.
The food and ambiance were great. Our food came out quickly and tasted amazing. Our server did seem a bit preoccupied and waked past us a few times without even checking if we needed anything. Overall, our experience was lovely and we will definitely be back.
I was very excited about going to Nancy Silverton's Pizzeria Mozza. It was our 32nd anniversary and there was no acknowledgement at all to this special occasion. The wait staff was very attentive. I did not give "outstanding" because we were served our chopped salad and within minutes later they brought us our pizza. Unfortunately, our pizza cooled as we ate our salad. The salad and pizza were prepared with quality ingredients and were very tasty. However, our pizza would have been so much better hot and I feel it was a big "negative" to the whole dining experience.
If you're a fan of pizza, you can't go wrong with Mozza. It's everything tha tis good and delicious in this world, all in one beautiful spot. Mario Batali continues to hit it out the ballpark with his Newport Beach location of Mozza and I already know I will be back in less than a week because the food was truly superb, but even more than that, the staff was nothing short of wonderful.
I appreciated the authenticity of the Italian food and atmosphere. The place was not pretentious at all. Pizza is legit Neapolitan style. I especially recommend the Bianca pizza. Simple but yet very tasty and delicious. The thin crust is unbelievably gratifying and satisfying. The tricolor salad amazing. The mini arancinis are so cute and small but packed with flavors.
