Pizza was eclectic and delicious. Service was shoddy at best. The hostess was an inexperienced 3rd grader and the waiter was not up to the caliber of Nancy Silverton. Don't expect it to be what you see on TV. My bad, I expected more. Drinks were good.
Mozza is awesome. World class food and wine list. Service at the same level.
an amazing discovery and we definitely be back. The pizza was probably the best I have ever had
Second time this week. Pizzas are unbelievably tasty- the dough is first class.
Very reasonable for the quality of ingredients and preparation.
Bravo. Go here.
Awesome!! So happy the olive oil gelato is back on the menu!!!
We loved everything about this restaurant. We would go back in a heartbeat
It is unfortunate to write this review but this was not good. I have been to event dinners here and they have been very well done but this was just bad. I booked the reservation for a friend's birthday and that was noted in the reservation. We had been on a run of elegant dining places and wanted a nice neighborhood place with good food and service. Our first server who took our drink order was charming and helpful but it stopped there. We ordered an appetizer, salads and entrees. My salad was delivered 10 minutes after my friends. Then entrees came quickly so I only ate about 10% of my salad. I order the chicken and it looked well prepared with a good outside sear and rub. But it was not done by the bone--quite pink and bloody and had hot and cold spots throughout. Fortunately a day later I did not get sick from underdone poultry. We mentioned to the waiter that there were problems and I was not looking for a credit but he really could have cared less that there was a quality failure. This restaurant can do a better job but boy oh boy this was bad and unfortunate for a small celebration--go back --may be only for pizza but it will be awhile.
The food at Mozza is so good and simple that I didn't care that the waiter was not great or that the place is noisy. My taste buds are so happy with the pane e bianco, mozza caprese, meatballs, chopped salad, sauteed broccoli, and butterscotch budino that I forgot they made us wait 20 minutes for our reservation.
I went here with family who were visiting as a goodbye dinner. The tables are very close together, so you constantly feel in the way of waiters and other patrons moving around the tiny dining room. It is very dark and very loud...so loud that it was hard to talk across the table. Then there was the menu (very limited) and the small portions. Nothing was amazingly tasty or memorable. I was underwhelmed and won’t go back. They do have a nice wine selection.
Every bite was a new discovery in authentic Italian food made with the freshest ingredients. I can't wait to go back.
Food was delicious especially the pizza with Burrata.
Sit at the bar and enjoy the show. The best pizza ever.
We did not have a good experience at Pizzeria Mozza. Our reservation was for 6:30 for 6 people and we were told to wait 15 minutes for a table that was finishing their meal. We opted to sit (without waiting longer) at 2 tables near the front door which was not ideal. The kids were getting hungry and weren't willing to wait past the 20 minute mark. The waiter who took our order but was filling in for another waiter. There must have been some miscommunication as our order took a very long time. The pasta and appetizers were good but the pizza was soggy in the middle making it hard to pick up. Also, this is fine dining Italian so expect good quality dishes but not as much quantity in the pasta dishes. It was not a good place to bring our kids ages 12-17 who ate at McDonalds afterwards next door. If the service was better and it was just the adults, I would have given it a higher ranking.
Second time this month. Outstanding appetizers, pizzas and desserts. Great service too. One of the best spots in Newport.
Dinner while vacationing in Newport Beach area-service was friendly and excellent. Garlic Bread amazing! They accommodated our vegan diet well. Would recommend.
The Burrata appetizer was amazing. Large Italian wine selection. The pizza was a little soggy and the lasagna was a little over cooked and mushy. However, the Meyer Lemon Gelato Pie was very good. Overall, the food was good but personally, I think the pizza at North Italia is better.
Excellent as always. Best pizza in Southern California
as always, the food was a1 the service was good. the pizzas were terrific
Our server/waiter was not personal and friendly.
The place is tight and noisy, my husband got elbowed 3x.
The food was good though but We can dine and have good service at other restaurants too.
I just love everything about this restaurant never a bad experience
We had eleven people and it was amazing, good job. The food is outstanding. Thanks
We loved the food. Chose a pizza and a salad and lots of aps to share. Everything delicious. Will definitely be back.
Very noisy restaurant.
Amazing food an environment. Defenitley recommend going!
They charged $60 to uncork 2 bottles of wine that we brought. Thought that was very higj
Always good pizza & other menu items in a fun environment. We sat at the table but there's also the wine bar or pizza bar seats that are fun too. Full bar and good wine list as well. Very consistent for a date or with a couple friends. It gets a bit crowded if you have larger groups but otherwise highly recommended.
It’s a little pricey, and a little “newport” (of course)....but...it’s one one of, if not_the_ Best pizza ever. I’ve had a lot of Neapolitan pizzas, in Italy and around some of the high rated local places like Michaels in LB. this rivals them all. Great dough, great ingredients.
Also try the barrel aged Negroni :)
Went for Valentines with my beautiful wife. We had a wonderful time, but went early. It gets noisy and crowded. Always a fun place to go as a couple or with friends.
You never leave disappointed!!!! Still by far my favorite pizza!!!! Love everything about the place!!!!
Best pizza dough ever! And the butterscotch budino with the rosemary cookie... I love Mozza for many reasons, all delicious. Can’t go wrong here
There aren't enough food superlatives to describe Mozza. I saw Nancy Silverman on Chef's Table and wanted ever since to go to Mozza. I love authentic Italian with rich, seasonal flavors balanced to perfection and I was thoroughly satisfied in every way. The service, the selection, the wine, ambiance, and the mushroom pizza - mamma mia! It was to die for. The chop salad was crunchy, super fresh and a nice mix of bitter, tangy and savory. Nothing was heavy yet everything was substantial and bursting with flavor. Go, go, go and enjoy a wonderful dinner.
Pizza, salad and wine was delicious. Service was great. Ambiance was negatively impacted by music and volume of music. You can do much better!!
Excellent as always!
Always great food drinks and atmosphere!!
Brussel Sprout Pizza was delicious with the signature blistered crust. Great place to celebrate a birthday as well as dine with friends and family. Our waitress made very good recommendations for the crispy cauliflower appetizer and Nancy salad and the service was also very good. We all enjoyed the night.
Excellent - the best Italian food I've had in a long time. All of their ingredients are fresh, service was great/personalized - I would go back all the time if I lived closer. I would highly recommend (make sure you make a reservation in advance)!
A bit noisy. We go often, the food was not it’s best this past time.
