Pizzeria Mozza - Newport Beach
Book your next event with us
Need to book at 7:30 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Food is amazing. Bread - to die for.... Have the Caprese Mozza, you won't be sorry!
Loved sitting outside even the traffic noise was bothersome, some times more than others. As always, wonderful pizza, great crust, and the tricolore salad were perfecto. Karin was our waitress. Good service with a nice personality.
Very poor wait staff service. Our salad took nearly 40 minutes & came out 5 minutes before dinner.
Service was terrible. Apps came quickly. Waited almost 45 min for 3 pizzas. Our server never came to our table to during that time.
The chopped salad and my cocktail the Rosita was a delicious way to start my meal! We then ordered the mozzarella pizza with basil .... one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had!!!! Service was impeccable!
The tomato sauce was nothing short of fantastic. The pizza crust was incredible. Good quality cheeses. Needs a total remodel. The tables were "sticky", the chairs were rickety, the outside bench is rusted and ready to fall apart, all of the outside vegetation (including herbs) is either withered or completely gone. Wine is overpriced ( in my opinion). Summary: food was very very very good, ambiance was very bad.
The service was terrible and the restaurant was only half full. They sat us right next to the bar and staff was repeatedly hitting me as they were retrieving drinks from the bar.
So, the food, service and Interior ambiance is exceptional. However, the Big detractor is the very limited parking, the ensuing wait fir the valet service AND the mandatory valet fee of $9.00.
If not fir the parking and valet fee circumstances, we would eat here once a week! However, due the the aforementioned, we only eat at Pizzeria Mozza a couple of times a year! It’s unfortunate as there are so many positives to this place!
The restaurant was fine. The service was lackluster. We didn’t receive much attention and were left unattended with dirty plates and old food for quite a while. One pizza came out and then the other didn’t come out for another 20-25 minutes leaving half the table finished while the other have hadn’t eaten. After waiting that long, the pizza was just okay. Not a ton of flavor.
The bartender was very friendly and helpful.
Always love coming here, but watch out for them marking you as no show for reservations. Watch out during slow times when a host/hostess isn't there. They may just seat you and not mark your reservation. Then later someone says you are a no show and you have to go back and forth with Opentable to prove you were there.
Great food and service! We had the fennel sausage pizza and it was excellent. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive.
Our waiter was great😎
Been going to Mozza since they opened
Always pleasant and welcoming.
Our waiter was very helpful, giving food and wine recommendations. Food was pretty good but not typical Italian food you would expect!
Fabulous food, great service. Many menu choices that it's hard to make a decision!
Pizza was quite mediocre... pizza outer crust was tasty but base of pizza was soggy and salami and sauce were not what I liked at all ... chopped salad was quite good ... fun atmosphere and service was pretty good ....
We were there at 1:00/PM for lunch. There were two other tables besides us who were there and they were in the middle of their meals. It took us 15+ minutes before we were able to grab the attention of somebody to take our order. The waiter was in a conversation with another worker and never turned around to see us. He said that he thought we were being taken care of by somebody else, but he and the guy he was talking to were the only ones there.
Horrible. Will not go again.
After a less-than-stellar experience at Pizz
We showed up early for our 6:15 Resy. And we’re seated right away. Jhonny our server was amazing, the whole experience from the moment we walked in until we left was excellent. Definitely, going to return.
Food and service are great despite the noise and unfriendly reception. Parking fee is excessive as you have no choice but to valet.
We hadn’t been to Mozza for several years and were pleased to find enhanced menu items. We had a reservation but opted to sit at the bar which seems a bit quieter for 2. The restaurant was very upbeat and our server was attentive and helpful. The food was the best we remember from Mozza and the green goddess salad was a work of art and delicious. We have definitely added this restaurant back on our list!
Awesome. Sat at the counter by the pizza oven. What a treat. Watching the team work enhanced the experience. Aldo was a great server and watching Dylan craft and plate the salads added to our enjoyment. I was really impressed how well everyone worked together and were cross trained. All were engaging and we plan to go back again next month.
Food was tasty but portions were quite small and overpriced.
Our server however was fantastic.
Valet Parking is way too expensive at $9, w/o tip?
The best pizza ever!
We've been here before and it's one of our favorites, but this time, it didn't hit the mark. Food was good, but we felt like we were rushed to order, eat, and leave the moment we sat down. Tried to get our waitress's attention so we can add more to our order since we were rushed to order with her standing there looking at us, we didn't know if we'd gotten enough, so wanted to get more, but she was long gone when we needed her and it was too late as we were told they needed everything to go into the system at once.
We had a reservation at 7pm. We arrived and they said they were triple booked and didn’t have a table for us. They said they had no idea when they could seat us so best fo just sit at the pizza counter since it was available. The ceiling above the pizza prep by the air conditioning exhaust is absolutely filthy. I have no doubt stuff is falling down onto the food. The service was only ok. There was no manager on duty and you could clearly tell. Someone needs to be in charge and be running the place.
We have not been back to the Newport Beach restaurant for a while. I've often craved the salume with fresno chiles pizza, but they have changed the recipe and the sauce, which was spicy and addictive is no longer on that pizza. My husband ordered the fennel sausage pizza. It was OK. When he added some salt it enhanced the flavor. The crust is uniformly good, but the sauces on the pizzas are not as good as they used to be. What has remained excellent and still a winner, is the Butterscotch Budino.
Waited at the bar prior to our reservation. They were a bit busy, so had to wait a little longer than expected. Andrew the bartender and the host were very accommodating to ensure our experience was excellent. Very pleased with the service!
My own creation
We loved Nancy's famous chopped salad, her Marguerite pizza, and pasta ragu! The pasta portion was small, I wanted more! I love everything about this place except the location. It's in the middle of car dealers. It doesn't feel special going inside because of the locations. Wasn't a big fan of the $9 valet either. The lot is right next to the restaurant and I still have to pay for parking?? That is what is keeping me from coming back.
Outstanding food and service
For someone of Nancy’s caliber I expected more. I had the Bolognese, I don’t mind small portions but you should charge accordingly plus certain pieces of the pasta where cold and there was very little Bolognese. The cauliflower appetizer was nothing special. I had three kinds of gelato Caramel being the best cookies and cream had ice in it. With so many choices most likely I won’t go back.
Sat in patio area very loud
Great place for a casual meal, but incredibly loud.
