What Insiders Are Saying
No, Pizzeria Mozza is not the best pizza in LA. But that doesn’t mean it’s not still a good restaurant.
The best pizza anywhere in the world. It is our favorite restaurant in LA. Great pizza, salad and dessert.
Takes 15 minutes to show table that has already been setup. Why bother sweating out in traffic to make reservation on time. Otherwise, food and service are first-rate.
The food was beyond salty up to the point where we lost all taste capability for hours after and felt sick. We gas few appetizers and pizzas.
The noise level was unbearable - people were screaming at each other in order to have a conversation.
Overall bad experience especially in a place that claims this pricing level. I am a regular customer next door at Mozza Osteria where the food and atmosphere is amazing. Pizza place five thumbs down.
Fantastic pizza! Prices have gone up but it's still outstanding
We booked dinner reservations weeks in advance, because we wanted a special place to eat, prior to going to a special music concert, that we had eagerly looked forward to. The restaurant and the concert were perfect, making for an epic night. Absolutely loved it!
Amazed every time we come, how incredible the simple tricolore salad is and how phenomenal the pizza is. Starts with the crust which is flawless. And then their homemade sorbet, gelato and other desserts, most notably the budino. Just all so good.
Get the garlic bread!!!! It was magnificent and the best garlic bread I have ever eaten in my life and I will go back because of how amazing it was!
Go to the sister restaurant next door - Osteria Mozza . The management is actually friendly - we showed up late for our reso, plenty of empty tables but were told they wouldn’t even put us in line again as we were a “no show”. Went next door and the manager took us in right away even though they were slammed and apologized for the rude behaviour. Great food. Great people. Amazing server. Made it a great night.
We had a great time. Our server was helpful and we had the best Margarita I’ve ever had!
The server was extremly rude, and you could tell he did not want to serve us.
I love Pizzeria Mozza. I have been coming here since I can remember when I moved to LA in 2001. Every year for the past 10 years my husband takes me here for my birthday because it's my request. . . I have to say this time the service was not great. our waiter seemed "annoyed" we weren't ready to order, he abruptly told me " sorry that pizza is off the menu" ... even thought I've ordered it every-time I'm come to Mozza for the past 10 years... and he did't check in for about a good 45 minutes... we had to ask him for espresso and dessert... not the service at Mozza I remember. The food was still as I remember, which will fortunately keep me as a customer. . . for now.
Always the best!
You can not go wrong with Mozza. The food the staff everything about this place is A+++++
Have been going about once a year with the family for the past eight years or so and always have an enjoyable meal. Meatballs, chicken livers and olives as appetizers went over well. Half of 4 different pizzas came home and reheated well the next day. You can’t go wrong with any of the desserts. Service has always been friendly and efficient. Seating was a bit tight but not a problem. There’s free street parking nearby on Highland.
Love this place. And it’s great that it’s open late. Service and food is always perfect.
interesting types of pizza, more whites than reds. good character and taste. small enough so 1 per person makes sharing easy. chopped liver appetizer was too salty to eat. eggplant and hummus appetizer special bordered on flavorless. get the peanut butter sherbet: excellent. chocolate gelato: eh. really attentive and friendly servers.
Amazing food, atmosphere and service! Our server made great recommendations and will definitely be back!
Cheerful attentive service the restaurant was too noisy to enjoy a conversation with my companion. I enjoyed the size of the pizzeta. Except for the noise level it was a pleasant experience
Our waiter , Juan , was amazing, profesional and very knowledgeable . Food was outstanding but we did miss the mussels !
The pizza was not as hot so I think it sat out a while and I think they forgot the sage on the mushroom with sage. My friends chopped salad was completely different than last time. The pieces were too large and not flavorful. The roasted cauliflower was excellent and the meringue and berry desert was delicious
Always the best food and service. We are never disappointed.
Don't waste your time or your money.
What a disappointment! You can find better pizza in any corner in Manhattan. I made a reservation for pizzeria Mozza weeks ago and I was so excited about this place after watching the Netflix documentary, I drove 5 hours to LA! To start the hostess squeezed us in a table, literally!! Their lack of space is unbelievable. Our waitress an Asian lady was stuck up, we are Mexicans and we speak English with an accent but she seemed to have a problem with that. She never gave us a recommendation, or ask us if it was our first time there, she was just rude. She took our order and left. Another guy brought in the food and asked us if we need anything else, we never heard back from our waitress again. The hostess came to our table to squeeze a couple of guys on the side and that's when we saw the waitress again, she was so chatty and charming with the guys, giving them recommendations and ideas on what to order, flirting with the guys and even telling them about how she was going to buy a Tesla car, which one do you recommended bla bla bla, she talked to this guys for at least 9 minutes straight, while I was trying to get her attention to get more water. She never looked at me back. I mean if you are working as a waitress stop trying to impress customers saying that you are buying expensive cars, is just ridiculous!!! . l travel a lot and I am always recommending places but I am sorry I can't recommend this place, the pizza was not good at all, you can barely taste or see any sauce or cheese on it. The salad is one of the worst salads I had ever eaten.(Nancy's chopped salad) it was supposed to have some meat on it, I counted 7 pieces in total. We didn't finish our food there because really it was just not good, we left the restaurant and went straight to the Farmers market at The Grove mall to eat. Don't waste your time and money on pizzeria Mozza is not worth it.
A fantastic dinner, even though the 7.1 quake rolled through as we were sitting there. Great chopped salad, antipasti, pizzas and butterscotch budini.
We have loved Mozza ever since they opened and always take everyone there! The best of everything - service, incredible food, lots of fun always!
The food and the service were great! But, the distance between the tables is so narrow so, I couldn't move easily.
Crowded, but everyone very nice- staff and patrons included. The Nancy chopped salad is a must- pizzas were great and wine/beer selection and suggestions from staff superb.
We started with the chopped salad which was very good. The meats and cheeses were light, but incorporated well with the greens. The dressing had a slight lemony hint on top of the traditional Italian flavor. Next came the peppers with tuna. Very tasty and unusual, though a little pricey for just 5 small peppers. Then, of course, the pizzas were great. We got a blanca with fontina and added mushrooms along with a Prosciutto and arugula. The crusts were crispy and the toppings were spot on. Overall an excellent meal, but you definitely paid for it. Fine dining prices for a pizza and salad.
Very good but also very, very noisy.
Great food.... get the mozzarella insalate with the crunchy bread.... heaven. My favorite pizza is the mozzarella with squash blossom. The dessert with the Spanish peanuts is to die for. Service is good and the wine list top notch for casual dining. They know their wines. Love. Have fun!
Pizzeria Mozza is our favorite pizza in LA. It always delivers. Thank you for being different, amazing and consistent. We can't wait to see you again.
It’s been a favorite spot for our family since they first opened.
Had a farewell dinner for my Aunt and the food was amazing as always! One of my favorite restaurants!
The Best, tasteful, delicious!
And very beutiful place!
O will recomend to everyone!!!👏🏻👏🏻😱
Very Nice place And delicious pizza!!!!
This was our second time dining at this restaurant. We were able to sit at the bar and watch the guys make the pizzas. We ordered the pizza with the fennel sausage and the margherita pizza. Both were delicious. We ended our lunch with a scoop of their vanilla gelato. Can't go wrong with that! We had a terrific time!
First thing: the food was amazing. It definitely earns its reputation as some of the best pizza in the city. My boyfriend got a pizza with prosciutto and arugula and from his face you could see he was experiencing nothing short of heaven. And the prosciutto was stacked so high on the bread it was just glorious. My funghi Misti was good and so was our butterscotch dessert and wine, but nothing else quite beat the prosciutto face.
And our server was great. Very attentive, if he did zip off from one table to the next really quickly. Totally understandable.
Other than the food, only a few minor complaints: the tables were really close together and it was a little too loud to hear ourselves talk. I also wouldn't mind a couple more vegetarian options. And the cost makes it a bit of a splurge — we went to celebrate our anniversary. But worth it. Great night.
Lived up to the hype
We were stuck between a baby and the path to the kitchen, so the ambiance was a little lacking. Servers switched on us mid-meal, so we had some confusion as well. Get a good seat and their normal service and you'll be very happy with the food. Pizzas and salads are outstanding - haven't tried anything else yet.
Pizzeria Mozza is totally fun. Great food, great wine, great service all in a fun environment that is part trendy, part neighborhood and part date night! I meet there with my kids for Sunday Night Tradition!
