Pizzeria Delfina Palo Alto
In 2005, Annie and Craig Stoll annexed the space next door to their James Beard Award winning Delfina restaurant fulfilling a long time dream of bringing Neapolitan-inspired pizzas to San Francisco. The 600 square foot space was an instant neighborhood hotspot, and Pizzeria Delfina became the ""darling of the San Francisco food scene"" opening a second location in 2008 to popular demand.
In 2014, Annie and Craig expanded into the Peninsula with Pizzeria Delfina in Palo Alto.
This energetic, farmers-to-table restaurant serves up Neapolitan-inspired pizza complemented by a daily-changing roster of seasonal antipasti, piatti (small entrees), beer, wine and more. A family-owned business, Pizzeria Delfina is a neighborhood establishment through and through that continues to bring people together around fresh, handmade, delicious food in a warm, casual atmosphere.
Saturday evening 9 pm reservation they did not allow us to order any drinks past 10 pm because that’s when they “close.” They should not be listing 9 pm reservations if that’s the case.
Foods is ok but has a lot of room to improve its service.
We love the pizza and pasta there the sauce was amazing as usual and the service was great. Everything was just about perfect.
Lovely patio seating, fantastic food and wine, ok service
Always great service and great food.
casual lunch with a friend and had delicious food
Had a reservation but took 5 minutes for someone to even acknowledge that we had walked in. Super under-staffed for lunch -- one waiter for the whole restaurant it seemed. Took 10 minutes to get water, another 10 to order. Food as always, is good -- but was hard to enjoy because it became super hot inside during our lunch (they leave the doors open to the patio even when the AC is on, and it was 90+ degrees outside. I used to be a big fan but whoever is the manager for the lunch shift needs to shape up otherwise they will lose our business. This is the second bad experience I've had here in 4 weeks for lunch.
Went for graduation dinner with family. Ate at 5pm. Patio was pretty, cool and perfect. Pizzas were a huge hit with out of town guests. Everyone loved it.
Always enjoy our lunches/dinners at Delfina Palo Alto. Patio can't be beat.
lovely outdoors, good food, service is minimal but polite.
classic. my favorite. always the best. 👌🏼
Made a reservation through OpenTable, and then didn't honor it when I showed up because they had decided to close the restaurant for a private party. Did not call me and let me know so I could make other plans for my business meeting. Surly staff refused to admit their mistake and instead told me *I* was wrong even though I had the confirmation email and text message from OpenTable.
I just returned from Sicily and never expect to find a pizza that compares...but now I know where to go!!! Crust was amazing as were the topping!!
We had wonderful and attentive service and great food — the special pizza with artichokes and arugula was so delicious. Fabulous meatballs. Loved the peas
Amazing Amazing Amazing Amazing Amazing Amazing
Excellent pizza. I liked their selection more than I liked their outlet in SFO. The place was quiet on Wed lunch. I had Napoletana pizza without the anchovies and my friend had the pie with arugula & prosciutto. The slices we're gone pretty quickly. The appetizers & salad looked good, though we didn't try any.
Food and service were great, will definitely be back!
Ate lunch here 2 days in a row and was not disappointed. Clam pie with extra clams and anchovies stood out. Regazza and Tri Colore salads were well done.
Very good food, including great pizza. Service was awful. One person in our party got his pizza 30 minutes after the rest of us. No recognition of bad situation by our server.
Not up to rest of the Delfina restaurants standards. Service was polite but follow thru was bad.
The pizza was underwhelming (it barely had cheese). Not as yummy as the ambiance or price would imply.
Pizzeria Delfina is one of my favorite restaurants in Palo Alto. It is a go to for everything from special occasions to casual get together‘s with friends. Also great for a table of two or large group. Their pizza is amazing! As are many other items including the meatballs, the vegetables, the salad ragazza etc. they also have a solid wine list and some fun specialty cocktails. Typically friendly and efficient service. The back patio is the best.. highly recommend!
Superb pizza. Stopped in as I was on EST so it was early out West and I saw the reviews. I started with the Greek salad which was a 10; they grilled the romaine, which was perfect as it combined with the fresh tomatoes, olives, feta and a superb dressing. Perfect salad. Then the Margherita came; I have never had a better one as the red sauce and fresh ingredients were a great combination. As the reviews have said, this place is stellar. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed a wonderful business lunch with clients, had the pizza, meatballs, and also the chicken, all of which were delicious, as always. Thanks!
Although I confirmed our reservation via open table, when we arrived at Pizzeria Delfina they were not aware of our reservation via open table.
When I showed them the confirmation on my phone they found a table for us.
Other than than that the food and service was outstanding, love the Salad Tricolore and the Pizza Neapolitans.
