About Pizza Nova - Point Loma
Pizza Nova has been locally owned and operated since 1990. We are a family restaurant providing a comfortable setting overlooking San Diego Bay. The Point Loma location has proven to be a destination point for many of the tourist who visits San Diego. The restaurant offers a full bar as well as a rotating selection of craft beers on tap. All the pizzas are baked in a wood burning oven. The dough is hand stretched in our exhibition kitchen. A lot of our loyal kitchen crew have been with us since the mid 90's. Pizza Nova is well known for our garlic rolls which are served complimentary. Check out our menu. We are more than just pizza pasta and salad.

Pizza Nova - Point Loma Ratings and Reviews
To start, as my my group & I sat and settled in the server brought us complimentary garlic bread balls. Absolutely scrumptious and we were starving so it was a wonderful surprise. Pizza was very delicious and with a salad I couldn't have been any happier. They had a decent selection of craft beers and a view of the harbor. Overall very satisfying experience.
Pizza was to dense, limp in the center, no matter what toppings we had ordered. Good flavor and fresh ingredients but not what I had expected. Mac and Cheese was wood fired but hadn't stayed in the oven long, the top wasn't even browned could have had the same result if they had put it in the microwave.
Our dinner was great - one suggestion regarding Open Table - our reservation did NOT make it over to Pizza Nova. The hostess was gracious and found a table for us, however. If Open Table's software can be configured to interface with Pizza Nova, then we wouldn't have had this situation. The hostess said "this happens all the time".
This place was amazing! My party and I showed up roughly 15 minutes early for our reservations and we were promptly seated. Fresh bread was then delivered to our table and it was heavenly. I have no complaints! The staff and food was wonderful, the view is breathtaking, and the environment was perfect! Definitely reccomend!
The restaurant has a great location, right on the water. Our party of 8, though, ended up in a back corner, half of us facing a blank wall, the others barely able to enjoy that view, so that was a little disappointing.
The food, though, was great. The pizza was delicious (had the white pepperoni pizza), the lasagna was good, ceasar salad was tasty. It's a solid value... not cheap, but not expensive. Our total was about $200 for eight of us with two pizzas, a couple entrees, appetizers, and a couple desserts.
Service was very solid... friendly and efficient, though the drinks could have been refilled a bit more quickly.
We'll go back, for sure.
The food is good and the waiters are really friendly, but it's hard to get their attention for refills. They come by to check on their table once, but never ask to refill drinks or if we need something else. This won't stop me from coming here even though every time I go the staff isn't so helpful until you hunt them down. I recommend getting the best salad!
This restraint had a great atmosphere with a great selection of wine and beers. Almost every seat in this restaurant has a view of the harbor outside and it's amazing. The only gripe I had about this place was where we were seated in the restaurant: right in front of a half-open window leading to the kitchen. It was quite noisy on the kitchen side which in turn cause the sound to travel to my table. It wasn't so pleasant, but something that could be overlooked when with good company.
Food and restaurant was great but our server was slow. I understand as the night progressed and the restaurant got more busy she had more to do, however, it is not acceptable to leave your table for a good 20 minutes after you deliver the check. Don't you want to be paid??
This place is an upscale bar that sells food. I don't drink. I do appreciate good food. I love coming to Pizza Nova. Good soups? Check. Good salads? Check. Solid pasta dishes? Check. Good pizza? Check. Good sandwiches? Check. A place to take prospective in-laws? NO. Friendly, appreciative service? Check.
I've had the pizza (Argulua and pear was great as was my husband's pepperoni) but their chicken wrap was outstanding. Not a dry tortilla type wrap but a very thin flatbread and delicious. My husband has also had their cobb sandwich and it's great. Right on the water with a nice view of the Marina. Service has always been very good too. Love it that they take reservations.
There are a number of new-style pizza places these days, and over time I think Pizza Nova's food has actually improved. The garlic rolls that they serve can't be beat. They offer some pizzas that you don't find elsewhere, like the goat cheese-pancetta and the smoked salmon Piizza Nova. Both were just perfect. Morgan was our server, and he was excellent. We never felt pressured and he easily fulfilled any requests that we had. I have been to Pizza Nova many times, and came away with an even better impression. You can't beat the view of the marina either. We brought out of town guests with us and they like it, too. Will definitely return.
Pizza Nova used to have 3 locations. Our neighborhood spot closed a couple of years ago. This was our first visit to this location. There is parking. We were seated promptly. The food is hardly haute cuisine, but it's well executed and served hot. Our server was attentive, without being intrusive, and kept our iced tea glasses filled. It's like seeing an old friend, and we'll be back.
I booked here for my sons birthday lunch with his family a month in advance. A few days before, someone called to answer the questions I had. We got there, we're seated right away. Our server brought snacks and drinks immediately. The whole time our service was excellent! Great food, great service! I will definately go back.
My 18 year old daughter is a wheelchair user making it difficult at times to find comfortable seating in restaurants. Pizza Nova, however, was very accommodating. We had requested an accessible table when we made the reservation and they had a perfect spot. Plenty of room and a great view of the marina. Beyond that, the service was spot on. All of our needs were taken care of immediately, the food was delivered hot and quickly. And the food excellent. We had the Caesar salad to start and shared a pepperoni pizza. Both of which were very well prepared and tested great. This is a really nice, casual spot for the family or a day out on a date.
Last minute dinner. Booked reservation on Opentable for 9:30PM, arrived at 9pm, they sat us within 5 minutes on a saturday night. Pizza was good, dough/crust was delicious. Our waiter was on point with excellent service (didnt catch his name, guy with a shaved head and glasses). Will return when im in the area.
Have been going here for five years now while on vacation in SD. The salad and rolls were great, not the best pizza we've had here though might have been what we chose service was kinda clinical and slow but we had a young child and he didn't behave that great and it was tolerated I appreciated that very much
This is one of our regular choices when we want well-prepared, tasty, reasonably priced food in a scenic friendly neighborhood restaurant. Definitely a San Diego experience, part of a small local chain. Service is always friendly and efficient. Good beer and wine list, great free garlic rolls, tasty California-style pizzas and pastas.
