To start, as my my group & I sat and settled in the server brought us complimentary garlic bread balls. Absolutely scrumptious and we were starving so it was a wonderful surprise. Pizza was very delicious and with a salad I couldn't have been any happier. They had a decent selection of craft beers and a view of the harbor. Overall very satisfying experience.
The individual pizza had too much crust & not enough cheese & pepperoni
Waitress lacked attention to detail. Constantly had to remind her, but she was very attentive to other male wait staff.
Charlie our waiter was very outstanding! He managed to satisfy everyone in my party!! Charlie is the best waiter out of everyone at Pizza Nova :)
Pizza was to dense, limp in the center, no matter what toppings we had ordered. Good flavor and fresh ingredients but not what I had expected. Mac and Cheese was wood fired but hadn't stayed in the oven long, the top wasn't even browned could have had the same result if they had put it in the microwave.
Our dinner was great - one suggestion regarding Open Table - our reservation did NOT make it over to Pizza Nova. The hostess was gracious and found a table for us, however. If Open Table's software can be configured to interface with Pizza Nova, then we wouldn't have had this situation. The hostess said "this happens all the time".
The minestrone soup was very good. The Hawaian pizza tho was fair....it was too salty
This place was amazing! My party and I showed up roughly 15 minutes early for our reservations and we were promptly seated. Fresh bread was then delivered to our table and it was heavenly. I have no complaints! The staff and food was wonderful, the view is breathtaking, and the environment was perfect! Definitely reccomend!
The pasta and pizza were the best we have ever had!
The restaurant has a great location, right on the water. Our party of 8, though, ended up in a back corner, half of us facing a blank wall, the others barely able to enjoy that view, so that was a little disappointing.
The food, though, was great. The pizza was delicious (had the white pepperoni pizza), the lasagna was good, ceasar salad was tasty. It's a solid value... not cheap, but not expensive. Our total was about $200 for eight of us with two pizzas, a couple entrees, appetizers, and a couple desserts.
Service was very solid... friendly and efficient, though the drinks could have been refilled a bit more quickly.
We'll go back, for sure.
The online reservation system was not working, so our reservation was lost and was told an hour wait. We found another restaurant and will not be back to Pizza Nova.
The food is good and the waiters are really friendly, but it's hard to get their attention for refills. They come by to check on their table once, but never ask to refill drinks or if we need something else. This won't stop me from coming here even though every time I go the staff isn't so helpful until you hunt them down. I recommend getting the best salad!
Consistently excellent food and service. One of our favorite regular dining choices!
Mary Lou's is the best chicken Caesar salad you'll find in San Diego.
Lunch here us always a good value. Tasty as well. Sit on the outside patio.
This restraint had a great atmosphere with a great selection of wine and beers. Almost every seat in this restaurant has a view of the harbor outside and it's amazing. The only gripe I had about this place was where we were seated in the restaurant: right in front of a half-open window leading to the kitchen. It was quite noisy on the kitchen side which in turn cause the sound to travel to my table. It wasn't so pleasant, but something that could be overlooked when with good company.
Another awesome visit to a San Diego gem!!
Excellent Restaurant Choice. This spot has become a Point Loma local restaurant which delivers consistent great food and service for 2 to groups of 30. It's on the waterfront too! Love it!
Food and restaurant was great but our server was slow. I understand as the night progressed and the restaurant got more busy she had more to do, however, it is not acceptable to leave your table for a good 20 minutes after you deliver the check. Don't you want to be paid??
This place is an upscale bar that sells food. I don't drink. I do appreciate good food. I love coming to Pizza Nova. Good soups? Check. Good salads? Check. Solid pasta dishes? Check. Good pizza? Check. Good sandwiches? Check. A place to take prospective in-laws? NO. Friendly, appreciative service? Check.
After you muscle your way in thru the crowd, the food is worth the wait. Their BBQ Chicken pizza is the main reason we keep coming back, but their salads and other pasta dishes are consistently good!
The best lobster bisque and pizza rolls anywhere. Been coming here for 6 years. Now they even take reservations.
I've had the pizza (Argulua and pear was great as was my husband's pepperoni) but their chicken wrap was outstanding. Not a dry tortilla type wrap but a very thin flatbread and delicious. My husband has also had their cobb sandwich and it's great. Right on the water with a nice view of the Marina. Service has always been very good too. Love it that they take reservations.
There are a number of new-style pizza places these days, and over time I think Pizza Nova's food has actually improved. The garlic rolls that they serve can't be beat. They offer some pizzas that you don't find elsewhere, like the goat cheese-pancetta and the smoked salmon Piizza Nova. Both were just perfect. Morgan was our server, and he was excellent. We never felt pressured and he easily fulfilled any requests that we had. I have been to Pizza Nova many times, and came away with an even better impression. You can't beat the view of the marina either. We brought out of town guests with us and they like it, too. Will definitely return.
Pizza Nova used to have 3 locations. Our neighborhood spot closed a couple of years ago. This was our first visit to this location. There is parking. We were seated promptly. The food is hardly haute cuisine, but it's well executed and served hot. Our server was attentive, without being intrusive, and kept our iced tea glasses filled. It's like seeing an old friend, and we'll be back.
I booked here for my sons birthday lunch with his family a month in advance. A few days before, someone called to answer the questions I had. We got there, we're seated right away. Our server brought snacks and drinks immediately. The whole time our service was excellent! Great food, great service! I will definately go back.
Love Pizza Nova. All of the food is fresh and delicious. This location is perfect for those looking to grab a bite near downtown or the airport. They have great beers on Tap.
Food was ok. Would have to go back a few more times and order something different. Love the area.
Food was very good. Hostess was very nice. Waitress was efficient but not welcoming, she was just doing her job. A smile would been nice.
My 18 year old daughter is a wheelchair user making it difficult at times to find comfortable seating in restaurants. Pizza Nova, however, was very accommodating. We had requested an accessible table when we made the reservation and they had a perfect spot. Plenty of room and a great view of the marina. Beyond that, the service was spot on. All of our needs were taken care of immediately, the food was delivered hot and quickly. And the food excellent. We had the Caesar salad to start and shared a pepperoni pizza. Both of which were very well prepared and tested great. This is a really nice, casual spot for the family or a day out on a date.
Last minute dinner. Booked reservation on Opentable for 9:30PM, arrived at 9pm, they sat us within 5 minutes on a saturday night. Pizza was good, dough/crust was delicious. Our waiter was on point with excellent service (didnt catch his name, guy with a shaved head and glasses). Will return when im in the area.
Food and service was good especially the Maine Lobster Bisque
Excellent, excellent, excellent like always, this is a Great place.
Really good food, service, all is just exvellent !!
The service and the food was good especially the Lobster Bisque Soup. It was awesome
Went to the Point Loma location with family and friends and for what I thought was just a pizza place I was pleasantly surprised. Can't wait for the Newport Beach location to open - wish one was opening in Torrance.
We were extremely disappointed in the food. No one enjoyed anything they ordered. The food was of poor quality and did not taste good.
Have been going here for five years now while on vacation in SD. The salad and rolls were great, not the best pizza we've had here though might have been what we chose service was kinda clinical and slow but we had a young child and he didn't behave that great and it was tolerated I appreciated that very much
We had great service, great food and a fantastic view.
We have been coming to PN for years. The Pt. Loma location always has great food, friendly wait staff, a nice harbor view at reasonable prices. Highly recommended. The best lobster bisque anywhere.
This is one of our regular choices when we want well-prepared, tasty, reasonably priced food in a scenic friendly neighborhood restaurant. Definitely a San Diego experience, part of a small local chain. Service is always friendly and efficient. Good beer and wine list, great free garlic rolls, tasty California-style pizzas and pastas.
