Had high hopes since a few folks recommended this place. Ordered a burger and they had run out of burgers, took forever to get drinks served, the one dish came out cold and even after being “warmed “ the mash was still cold. Also very loud and hard to have a conversation. Disappointed!

Food was good, but not many czech specific dishes. I suggest you add Chlebicky Czech Open-Faced Sandwiches as an appetizer dish and VEPŘO KNEDLO ZELO for a main entre. Also, where is the garlic soup? I am czech, 1st generation American and was sad not to see traditional czech dishes on the menu

We had been wanting to try Pivovar for quite some time, and now it's on our list of go-to places. We were early for our reservation so we sat at the bar for awhile and chatted with the bartender who shared his knowledge of various liquors with us. We shared the Czech Beer Cheese which included two types of sausage, beer cheese, fig preserves, and crostinis (generous portions so we brought some home). My husband had the Texans Pocket Schnitzel and said it was very crispy and not greasy at all. I had the Pork Shank - very tasty and more than I could eat in one sitting. The service at the table was friendly, competent, and unrushed.

A great spot in downtown Waco. Excellent food and well-made drinks. This has been needed in Waco for a long time. Definitely recommend if you’re visiting from out of town or a long time local!

We made 7:15 reservations for Saturday evening. The crowd was minimal for prime time Saturday, but we still had about a 10 minute wait before our waiter took our drink orders. After that, however, service was great. Food was excellent and cocktails were amazing. The live music was fantastic as well. We had a great first experience, and I would highly recommend it for those looking for something more upscale in Waco.

We had a great time here, service was friendly and efficient, the live music sounded great and wasn’t too loud, and the food was delicious! We had the Czexan Schnitzel and the Short Rib Goulash, would order both again. The brownie ala mode for dessert was also very good. Not a lot of beer choices but enjoyed the lager and the wine flight had a nice variety, plus the serving size was worth the price. Only downside was having to pay for parking.

Food was good, but pricey. We did get a special surprise treat since it was our anniversary. Service good but could use a little improvement - for example, plates weren’t given with our large appetizer platter and we had to ask for them. Hostess was friendly.

Our Saturday night dinner as part of a girls trip was fantastic! There was great live music, the wine was wonderful, the food was amazing. Get the brussel sprouts, streusel, and the salmon, you wont be disappointed. Our waiter was Ian and he was attentive, gave great recommendations, and was so cheerful.

My food was very good (schnitzel). My adult children had the burgers and they enjoyed them but they needed more sauce. My wife ordered the filet at medium temp. After waiting 35-40 minutes for our food, my wife's filet came out rare and cool to the touch (like it sat too long). I addressed this with the server who had the filet refired to bring to temp. When he brought it back it was the same. Although the server was very polite and apologetic, he explained that the cook was new to steaks. I get that everyone has to start somewhere but the lack of oversight was not good. For an expensive cut of beef ($32 6 oz), it needs to be done as requested. She couldnt eat it. Overall, it was a mediocre meal for a large price point. Please note, they were not busy or overwhelmed. Just a rough outing.

Arrived on time. Table was wedged next to pillar and so my chair couldn’t be pulled out. Service was good when she finally came. Food and drink were very good. Staff very nice. I was surprised by how nice and modern it was. Will go there again when I’m in town.

The beer is phenomenal along with the cheese board. The main course of schnitzel was just okay but came with mashed potatoes and no vegetable and lack of presentation made less appealing.

Their schnitzel is hot and flavorful and their mash potatoes creamy and silky. I've never had schnitzel before and thought I'd want white gravy on it like chicken-friend steak. But gravy would have drowned out the subtle flavors of this dish. I highly recommend their classic schnitzel.

We made reservations online and mentioned our anniversary in the “special occasion” box. There was a hand drawn sign and flowers waiting on the table when we arrived. They also gave us complimentary Champaign and dessert for the occasion. Our waitress was PHENOMENAL!! The manager checked in regularly to see if anything was needed. The food and drinks were fantastic. We will be back!!!

Waiter argued with us about how the waffle was described on the menu. We had to call the manager who later chided one of our party for wanting cheese in her omelet even though it wasn't on the menu. Then we showed her where the menu listed cheddar cheese on the omelet. Food came out 10-15 minutes before they were able to bring syrup, butter, salt/pepper and ketchup. My wife asked if they had fresh berries for the waffle. The waiter said yes but later brought her a bowl of melon. She immediately sent it back but we were charged for it. We like the atmosphere of the restaurant but the service was probably the worse I've seen experienced in many years.

The food and drinks have been delicious both times we have gone. I had the French 75 and the Pork Shank and it was phenomenal. The dessert was lacking a bit. The skillet brownie was not at the same level as dinner, it was a plain brownie with ice cream on top. The previous visit we had the chocolate mousse and left something to be desired. The Dessert menu could use some tweaking. The staff was top notch and each employee that came to our table seemed happy to be there. The atmosphere is beautiful! I took away a star due to cost of parking and dessert. I have no issues with paying for fine dining and great cocktails, my complaint is having to pay a high cost for parking. As a customer I shouldn’t have to pay to park ($22 for three hours) in the only parking lot designated for Pivovar. Left the feeling of being nickel and dimed due to no other parking options nearby. Most other restaurants validate parking fees for paying costumers and that wasn’t the case here.
