Everything was fantastic. They ran out of the dish my wife ordered but she moved to the sea bass. The manager there Beth is always awesome. We sat in bar area/booth and it was noisy.. our fault not theirs.
Scallop ap was amazing-some of the best we have ever had. Same goes for the asparagus side. Main courses were just as delicious. Expensive, but worth it. Waiter was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Food and service was excellent. Someone else's food came to the table and was on our bill, but it was promptly corrected.
Cost seemed a little high.
Attentive waitstaff; Sunday supper is a great value, however 2 of our 6 guests received medium filets when they had requested medium rare, filets were tough, and we had to request steak knives; and sundaes looked to have been sitting on the counter as they were half melted. Previous Sunday Supper visits have been outstanding.
Made a reservation for my husband's birthday. We were seated at a middle table rather than a booth. When I asked about this I was told the restaurant was full for the evening. Throughout the course of our visit there was five empty booths around us the whole time. All of the food was underseasoned. My daughters pasta was undersauced. The whole experience was underwhelming and honestly, disappointing. Will not be going back.
Dinner was great as usual. Birthday desert was delicious!
Great bar and place to meet friends; the food is a bit high priced for what it was. It was good but not equivalent to the cost.
Great happy hour specials! Must try the Parmesan fries!!!
It’s not cheap, but the food and experience are amazing so worth it when you want to treat yourself!
Our steaks were done perfectly and so very tasty. The loaded mashed potatoes were excellent. Made for some great leftovers. We would definetly eat there again.
Food is really good. The mashed potatoes are a MUST. A little pricey but overall a good place to have a business meeting or a night out.
We were seated promptly and all of the wait staff did an excellent job. They were attentive to our needs while still being respectful of our privacy.
Great service but cost is prohibitively high for the quality of the food can definitely go to restaurants with better quality food and more reasonably priced
Our server was mindful of my father’s Alzheimers and allowed my parents to have a happy celebration for their anniversary,(they even cut his meat in the kitchen so my mother did not have to be his caregiver!). I’ll be forever grateful for the kindness we were shown.
Excellent food in a quiet, intimate atmosphere. Excellent t service. Very little waiting.
Usually it’s pretty good but not this time. The steak on the salad was supposed to be a filet cut but it was very tough. I’ve never eaten a filet that tough before. My wife’s seafood salad was not good as well. Very little crabmeat and seafood wasn’t seasoned. Key Lime pie was excellent. The server was very good. Very Disappointed this time.
I got the horseradish crusted filet, with sides of mushrooms and loaded baked potatoes. Absolutely fantastic
This was an amazing date night! The dark lighting set a soft mood! Our waitress was so kind, and explained the menu! I would definitely recommend!
Good steakhouse vibe.
It was highly recommended by locals a d I’ll be honest it was some of the worst food I’ve had at a steakhouse. The service was less than attentive to our table which is hard to believe with limited capacity. I won’t return nor will I recommend this restaurant.
Our second time to the Pittsburgh Blue in Rochester for dinner. Each time it has been outstanding in all respects. Great food, well prepared to our specifications. Excellent, professional and friendly service. Sides are definitely for table sharing. Asparagus perfect, hash browns were actually beautiful! Steaks perfectly prepared and very flavorful.
Also, just came back for a 4:00 late lunch today. Again, outstanding service and food. Portions of the happy hour selections were generous. We will be back and highly recommend.
Everything was excellent! Our server was very nice and attentive! We’re definitely coming back!
Thank you! Ella & Terry
The food was beyond amazing! I would recommend Pittsburgh Blue to everyone!
Cheesecake is amazing, not too heavy, got to have the strawberries and strawberry topping, steaks cooked perfect, server was spot on
Staff was awesome. Food was awesome as well!
Friendly attentive waiter.
Great atmosphere
Lively bar
The food was overpriced and nothing special. Seafood salad had two shrimp and a tablespoon of crab meat . The rest was lettuce, tomato, and boiled egg.
Only recommendation-smaller portions for the individual serving side dishes and charge less or add to the main course.
Always a great place to eat! Would recommend to anyone looking for a great place to eat.
I chose Pittsburgh Blue for my husbands birthday knowing he enjoys prime rib so much. Its an hour drive from where we live so I was hoping we were going to like it. From the moment we walked in the door the hosteses were pleasant and cheerful
And very welcoming. The Waitstaff were professional, knowledgeable
of menu, took great care to check up on us. Food was amazing! Best prime rib my husband has had.
Atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed that dining tables were well spaced apart so conversations could remain private and not feel all clustered together. Only trouble, dining area was just a little too dark it was hard to read some of the menu.
Overall the experience was top notch. The price of the meal was well worth the quality of food and service we received. We have no troubles paying for a great meal and to be able to relax and thoroughly enjoy good food and conversation. It was a true treat so thank you and please keep up the high standards both in staff and food. Both seem rare to find these days.. The Houghton's will be back and will highly recommend to our friends.
We felt special from the moment seated. The server was attentive and gave a sample to my husband for Rye, which he wasn’t sure about. Sunday night supper was a great value and delicious - we chose shrimp cocktail that was the large and scrumptious and our steaks were cooked to perfection. We each tried different desserts to be able to try hot fudge sundae and creme brûlée - both a tasty way to end the dinner! We will be back soon!
Food was excellent, just not a warm as I would have preferred. Service was excellent.
The steak was cooked as ordered, Pittsburgh medium. It was excellent. We did not get our entire order at the same time. Seating area was kind of a cold ambience. And the music was a depressing music. However the food was terrific. Prepare to spend a lot of money though.
Dined with two friends starting with appetizers and adding as we went along. No one was starving so we didn’t order multiple entrees, an order of crab legs, 2 apps and 2 sides in the end, and wine. Waiter was helpful but not intrusive and not offended by us not ordering full meals. Crab legs were amazing, as was lobster Mac, asparagus, pork belly app, and Parmesan fries. Excellent wine list; standard highway robbery in terms of prices but if we weren’t willing to pay we would have had our wine at home.
We so wanted to like this restaurant as it is located in the hotel in which we were staying. Dined twice at the Pittsburgh Blue and the food on both occasions was subpar and very pricey. The prime rib was inedible, like chewing rubber bands. How can you mess up mac-n-cheese, absolutely no flavor with the exception of a large dose of oregano? Understand restaurants are going through rough times but cutting down on quality is very disappointing. Don’t even get me started on their price gouging wine list, they were out of so many wines we finally asked, “What do you have?” The restaurant is very pretty and they did great at social distancing.
Pittsburg Blue is in the Hilton Hotel.. It's decor is modern, The music and noise levels are excessive.. The bar is open to two entry doors and the cold draft Minnesota produces.. The service was good.. The steaks were below mediocre . We like to celebrate on special occasions several times a year . We have been spoiled by a steakhouse in Minneapolis . It is the standard that all others are measured by.. With downtown Minneapolis being akin to a war zone we opted to try Rochester's newest finest steak house.. It simply loses in comparison to other venues and the quality is not there..
Waiter was attentive and responsive in addressing an undercooked steak, though not his fault. Restaurant tried to make it right the best they could. Loved the loaded mashed potatoes. Would recommend restaurant recognize celebrations as the occasion is asked about in the reservation system. Not sure if they do anything for birthdays or not. Experience was good overall, though bummed about my birthday steak.
Server was polite and helpful and food was hot and very good when delivered but it took an hour to get it for a party of 4. No offer for a complimentary dessert or beverage for the delay.
I had a reservation but could not have a booth even after one came available because a walk in made a stink over it.
The atmosphere and service was some of the best my wife and I ever experienced. Was disappointed with main dish ( sirloin steak). Cooked medium as we asked, but charred to much on the exterior to enjoy as it made the tender meat tough, and detracted from the seasoning used to flavor it. The Chicken was cooked to perfection.
Overall was a pleasant evening for my birthday, but not one we would repeat.
Server was excellent, food out outstanding. Will go back if we are in town again.
