Pittsburgh Blue - Rochester
Welcome to Pittsburgh Blue. You’re about to eat very, very well.
Great bar atmosphere & bar menu. Had a cocktail & appetizer. Friendly bartender. Moved to dining area for dinner. Classy, quiet & comfortable. Excellent server. Probably the best filet mignon I have had.
The food was excellent, the staff was great as well.
The restaurant was a joy to see.
First time at Pittsburgh Blue - highly recommend, appetizers were on point - had Calamari and Maple Glazed bacon. We all ordered steaks - all were prepared perfectly and were some of the best steaks we've had in Rochester. Sides were asparagus and loaded mash potatoes.
Was boring. Nothing really to recommend a return visit.
Great dining experience with very friendly and approachable staff. Waiter exceptional. Food well prepared.
Awesome experience, great food, fast service, nice environment.
Overall good experience. The food was not as spectacular as I was hoping! The wine was delicious!!
It just was not good. The wedge salad lettuce was brown. I ordered shrimp stuffed with crab and it was cold and fishy tasting. Not sweet like crabmeat is. I only ate half just to be polite.
Great service! Great food! And very accommodating to special requests!
I took my Family of 5 to Pittsburgh Blues on Saturday night. My Sons both ordered Fillet Mignon which were very good. My Wife ordered the Crab stuffed shrimp which was good. My Mother and I both ordered the Queens Cut Prime Rib which was unfortunately very tough and tasteless. I have been in the restaurant business for 25 years, so I write this not with the hope that I am given a discount, but rather the hope that you are aware. With the prices you charge, patrons should be walking away with a true dining experience feeling, rather than feeling they had been taken advantage of. While the majority of the Food was good, but it wasn't worth the $300+ bill that I received.
Consummate steak house experience. High quality steak and delicious sides. Friendly staff
Great place. The word around Rochester there expensive but my wife and I really wanted go and try it so we went for our Valentines Date and we feel in love with the place. And,it’s not expensive. Our server was really nice and took the time to explain the entire Pittsburgh Blue experience. They have a great Sunday special that my wife had and she loved it. I picked a steak it was cooked perfectly and tasted excellent. We will go back and we where only going to try it once. So if your on the fence about going pick a date night and give it a try you’ll be back.
I thought the prime rib was excellent but have a problem with the potato and salad not being part of the meal and not $10 each extra. That in itself will probably keep us from returning.
I could cook a steak better at home. Why it's better than Steak places in Rochester, it's defiantly not worth the cost. Service was very good.
We had a wonderful dinner, excellent service provided by the bartender to begin with as well as the hostess and all of our wait staff. The food was absolute perfection, as usual!
Paid for a ‘special’ that was just a reworded item off the menu and then given the run around when I asked on it. Steak wasn’t that special... save your money and find a better place, the food at outback is better
The service: amazing!
The drinks: oh so good!
The atmosphere: a little dim in the dining area, but nothing bad. Didn’t have to use flash for our date night photo or squint to read menus.
The food: fantastic! The steak was the most tender and the greens were wonderfully baked. Be aware, most things are served a la carte, so sides must be ordered separate. Makes everything a little pricey. The only negative I can say about the experience is that the food was too salty. If only one thing had been salty and the others not, it would have been nicely balanced, but the meat was salty, the bread was salty, and the veggies were salty. Ask for things with no or less salt, I guess.
Overall: amazing! But maybe only a once-a-year or every-two-year kind of meal. ($$$$)
Waiter was great, steak was amazing the chicken was ok, place is beautiful and very elegant.
Excellent steak! Very friendly, kind, accommodating and professional staff.
The resturant is pretty neat our food wasn’t as high end as I thought it would be. My steak was over seared almost burnt the mash potatoes were excellent
The food was great and the services also great. The restaurant was a little on the noisy side but it was a full house. Will be going again.
Food was amazing and was super quick! Great service, highly recommend the wait staff. One of our appetizers accidentally fell on the table and the staff made us another one. Great date night restaurant!
Absolutely fantastic start to finish. Service was amazing
A 6 oz filet on some mashed potatoes with an iceberg lettuce salad and creme brûlée dessert was $45. Add a cocktail and tip and you hit $75. The food was good, not great, but pricey even for a steakhouse. Were it not for a gift card I would not have gone there.
Everything was good
The food was awesome, the service was exceptional. Evening was done perfectly.
Had a wonderful meal before surgery. Service was top shelf , seems like the whole community is so wonderful and friendly. Looking forward to the next meal there
Excellent food and service.
Pleasant background music and not too loud.
We enjoyed our experience at Pittsburgh Blue. The food was great and our server was outstanding! :)
The price paid for the quality of the meal was as good. The server was not as experienced. An example of that was when she started to ask if we need to box anything when my kids were still eating.
Great food, excellent service, delicious drinks
My sea bass entree was excellent, but my wife's filet was tough/chewy. It's disappointing when you can get better filet from HyVee. For $40, we expected better. Our server was great (Ryan?) - very friendly and he kept our wine glasses filled.
We werent impressed for the price. My filet was done med rather than MR so dry. Got the petite filet, but with the upcharge for what was stated for the 8oz filet , it ended up being the same price. There was cheese on everything. The mushroom side was good. The mac n ch was dry, cresmed spinach was plain and watery, hash browns were still tough. I noted it was my bday, but not acknowledgment. Capital Grille and other nice steak houses will put it in the menu, do dessert and verbalize it. I asked for a paper napkin to put my gum in it to drink my martini and by the time i got it, it was 20 or so minutes later.
All in all, this is a certain choice again when we’re in the area. Because of the excessive drink prices, though, we will curtail our beverages there.
The French onion soup for bland onions were not cooked low and slow enough leaving broth bland but the cheese on top was great. Steak for superb and Manhattan was incredible. Lobster thermador could have use larger fresh shrimp instead of small salad shrimp. Bread service on point and server was excellent. Prices are high but in line with top steak houses prices. Unfortunately some items fell short of top steak house quality so I was left feeling like I overpaid.
Our experience was a great one. The food was excellent
(Lots of great sides, ie buffalo Brussels sprouts and loaded mashed potatoes. The service was attentive but not annoying, and the atmosphere was understated elegance.
We will certainly go back!
Everything was delicious! Staff was great and can’t wait to go back!
Very cool place with excellent food! The service was outstanding!
Excellent food choices and quality. Appreciated the excellent customer service from our server, Joy. Thank you for a great dining experience.
Food was amazing. Our server Kelsey was one of the best servers we have ever had.
