Pittsburgh Blue - Maple Grove Ratings and Reviews
Had a reservation and were seated promptly..we felt that once the server found out we we're not interested in pricey alcoholic drinks ,we became less of a priority for him. We never received our dinner rolls. We also felt compelled to finish our steaks right then and there due to the cost, and the fact we we're not once offered a box to take away our left overs..If I'm paying nearly 30$ for some mashed potatoes and asparagus I should have the option to take them home... Atmosphere was above a dull roar..if your looking for a good date night spot this isn't it ..also we were asked upon arrival if we were celebrating anything ..we replied yes ,our anniversary..never once was that ever addressed again..
Very good food. Attentive service. Couldn't quite understand why we were listening to loud 80's music in what would otherwise be a steakhouse atmosphere. I wouldn't mind eating a burger and grabbing a beer to those tunes, but when you're dropping a couple hundred bucks on dinner, music should seem a little more sophisticated. I'm not a snobby guy, just know my atmosphere.
Worse New Year’s Eve ever. So much was bad. Steaks poor quality and I mean poor quality Waiter very good. Bread hard steaks bad salad ok Hugh croutons. We finally were able to find our waiter. He agreed with the filet which was not a filet that I have ever had. Burnt edges hidden under the mushrooms stringy to cut. Manager came over. Agreed with our findings on filet and bone in strip as well as our 3 rd guest had prime rib. Not a prime cut of meat but ??? She did comp only the meat. We paid for the sides. Should of comped the entire meal. Mannys wouldn’t of approved of this. Or Parasols dinning company.
Oh yes we waited 25 min. Shown to a back room that just got heat. No one else there we sat on frozen chairs and doors were open as people coming into restaurant and it was -15. Made them reseat us. Really who would want to sit in there.
Love this place. Two bad points this last visit. We were here on New Years Eve. Freezing cold outside and every time the front door opened a blast of cold air came in. People choose to use the door instead of the revolving door and hold it open for others so it made it freezing cold for us and others ugh.
We had the filet American and they cut the cheese too thick and it was not melted on top of our steak. We sent it back for them to melt it but the cheese was still really thick. I still love coming here and will continue. Everything else was wonderful. The scallops appetizer, hash browns and the BLT wedge salad yummy
Our food was great. Service was great. Only slight downfall was that they sat us at a table (when my on-line reservation requested a booth) and I didn't want to be "picky" so I didn't say anything. Then they sat us in an off-shoot room that had maybe a dozen tables, felt small. The atmosphere wasn't as lively in that room...didn't even know they had extra rooms. So, if atmosphere is important to you, ask what seating they have available before they seat you.
This was our first time eating here, and we were celebrating our anniversary. Our entrees were excellent (cedar planked salmon and the Cowboy ribeye steak). Our service was attentive and excellent and friendly. We would gladly return. The only glitch was that we requested a booth but were seated at a table, but this was promptly remedied.
Seating wasn’t great. Kept hearing our neighbors conversation and vise versa
Service okay - suggest that fir future repeat customers like we are that you still treat the customer as it is their first time as you have a great restaurant but repeat customers come and pay the extra money for the WHOLE experience
Very expensive meal!! Overpriced steaks, no matter where they come from. Ala cart sides are WAY over priced. Food was good, not great. Really a pretty basic steak with a high price tag. The place was nothing special, it’s a steak house. Waiter knew he was behind as it was busy that night. Not sure I’d go back and pay that price again, if so it won’t be soon or often.
Service was excellent and food was plentiful. Entrees and courses were delicious. 1 negative was noise level and second was 1 steak extremely undercooked. they cheerfully took it back to the kitchen but everyone was nearly done eating by the time it came back.
We’ve been to PB a number of times. The scene was really loud on this particular night. Tuna tartar appetizer and sides were really good. I had the prime rib, which was good, but I’ve had better at a lower price. Overall we had a good experience again, but this place is pricey.
Usually this is an excellent restaurant with great steaks. The service was adequate for an Applebees but not up to PB standards. Ordered medium rare steak and received well done. Wait staff asked how everything was before we even had a bite. Than NEVER came back until dinner was over. She did comp our steak. Also ordered a crab leg which we usually do. Never paid more than $30 in the past so didn't ask the market price. Our bad, it was $65....and had all kinds of shell chips. The guy preparing it seemed unsure of himself. Drawn butter was cold too. Usually when you split a meal they bring an extra plate. Had to use a serving plate. Saddened by our evening out with friends. Luckily their meal was perfect. Expected better but will try again just mot anytime soon.
Stopped for a snack, nachos, which were ok, no salsa. Drinks were good. Service was great. A bit surprised that when we checked our bill before paying we were charged for our food plus another guests meal and wine. Server removed, and the we were given extra Bit Of Honey treats. ????? Hmmm, not that this was a huge issue since we caught the problem but would have expected more than extra Bit of Honey treats!
