Pittsburgh Blue - Edina Ratings and Reviews
My wife & I had dinner at Pittsburg Blue Edina with another couple to celebrate our 46th anniversary. Being a Makers Mark Lifetime Ambassador I had A Clockwork Orange (Pittsburg Blue speciality drink made with Makers 46: excellent cocktail) and my wife had a Traditional Margarita (also excellent). We shared a Caesar Salad and my main course was a Queens' cut (10 oz.) Salt Crusted Prime Rib prepared rare exactly as I had requested. My wife's main course was a beautiful and tasty Filet Mignon with Scallops. We also shared their Lobster-Cheddar Hash-browns. Due to the serving sizes we walked out with half of our meal to enjoy the next day.
We did appreciated the waiter asking about our special occassion (he saw the gift bag from Manila) and he returned with a large Red Velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing & served on top of a raspberry sauce / coulis.
The waiter was marvelous and attentive to our special requests. The food was prepared and served exactly as it should be. The dinner prices may seem a bit high but the food is great and the portions well, you will take some home.
We truly enjoyed the occasion.
The overall service was fantastic. Our water glasses were never empty. Our group day right next to the servers which was a little crowded and busy. The meat was fantastic and perfectly cooked but the mashed potatoes were disappointing. Overall it's a great place.
Went here for a night out since I was craving a steak. Highly disappointed... I got the Porterhouse and it was over cooked and had very little flavor. My wife got the mushroom filet and was satisfied, some of the mushrooms were over cooked. The creamed corn side was good, but the drinks were priced reasonably, but the desert was definitely bland. For $220 I expected a much better meal. Ruths Chris, or Capital Grill steaks are much better, but I thought I would try Pittsburgh Blue. Service was great, but sadly I wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for a quality steak.
The food was very mediocre for the prices. Everything lacked salt. The steak was cooked perfectly but needed seasoning. It was extremely loud. Great for business dinners, happy hours or larger groups but not a relaxing and quiet place to go for a date night and expected the food to taste better overall.
Had experienced PB in Maple Grove on several occasions. Decided to try Galeria. Had a couple $75 gift cards. Our bill came to $132 & change. Our server brought us another bill for $57???? Not sure how that works. My math stated we had $17 in credit
Our server was professional, and very cordial. The system apparently confused our situation.
We've been to Pittsburgh Blue many times and usually go annually for our wedding anniversary. Usually we're greeted with a Happy Anniversary and a celebratory cupcake at the end, neither happened this time unfortunately even though they knew. Drinks took a ridiculous amount of time for both rounds ordered and server seemed absent minded with most requests. Water was often low or out as well. Prime Rib was cut incorrectly and thus unevenly cooked. Ordered salad without eggs and came with eggs. Grown up mac and cheese was said to have bacon but had none, also was completely bland and flavorless. One of these things by itself wouldn't bother me but all together for a date night out was annoying. Will try it again but hope for better service and better food.
Feels like this is falling off. Seated early on a Sunday night. Server had to ask wait assistants for water after we already had bar service, bread was delivered 2 mins before entree and after salad. Pacing was terrible- after finishing salads, it was bread in two mins and entree in three. Also had an empty glass of wine for ten minutes while eating before being asked for another-
after finishing dinner. Lost revenue I guess.
All in all, it felt like a Good Earth type experience. Not offensive but no where near not what’s expected at the price point. Long time customer but probably won’t be back.
I was a little disappointed , today with my lunch. I ordered the turkey burger, but they brought me a turkey sandwich without the bun, because I am gluten free. The server was very nice and he ended up comping my meal for my birthday., and brought me a turkey burger. Thank you. The turkey burger was good but I have had better. My cousins were a little disappointed with their meals as well. The food was good, but a little pricey. I have eaten here for dinner, and I really enjoy the steaks. I guess I will stick to eating dinner here, rather than lunch. Our waiter was very nice and he apologized for several mistakes that were made with our orders.
We’ve ate here before & the food was better in the past! My ribeye was over cooked, so I sent it back. The second one was cooked correctly but it had gristle through it & was chewy (my first cut was a much better steak). I had an $11 Moscow mule which was average. The beet salad was very good. My husband had a fillet w/ scallops & the fillet had a hollandaise sauce on it, that tasted off. He also had a loaded baked potato that was very good! Spent $155 for two people & we were disappointed! We will not go back!
Great food in a steakhouse style establishment without the steakhouse pretense. A bit pricey but the quality is worth the price. And the very large portions give most diners another meal. I changed things up and had Chilean Sea Bass - fantastic! Super moist and melted in my mouth. Highly recommend.
