Many places have fine dining, but it truly is the staff that bring the meal to unexpected heights. Our waitress Nikki gave us terrific suggestions and wine options and made the dining experience a delight. I will go many places for food, but I will go back to Pittsburgh Blue for the service and the food.
only minor complaint, was just a bit noisy, for biz discussion
For $150 for 2 with 2 drinks and dinner. I would go to Murray’s instead. Disappointed
I gave Pittsburg Blue and overall "good" rating because while we had significant issues with service and with food quality, the restaurant did recognize the issue and try to make it right. We had very slow, inattentive service for a group of 12. We had to ask for refills on drinks and ordering both appetizers and entrees took a long time. Appetizers were very good (calamari and crab cakes). Our main meals were initially terrible. It seemed like a kitchen timing issue mostly. 2 meals were the incorrect dish (wrong steak, etc.) and multiple other dishes were not even warm. The server and manager took all those dishes and remade them. The other complaint was that the brunch hash browns were soggy, which was unexpected given their crispy hash brown cake which we have had before. In the end the restaurant did work hard to make it right. They credited our bill for the entrees that were not even warm and then brought us some free deserts. We were pleased with that so we will definitely give them another try! Everybody can have a bad day. It must have been for them--someone even spilled a large bucket of ice cubes. In the end, everyone stayed pleasant and understanding.
Making it right makes all the difference. My husband and I have been here before and really enjoyed it so I am hopeful that it will be a different experience next time. Hopefully they will correct the issues they were having that day.
Our experience was outstanding! Food was unbelievable.
Our meal was fantastic. we will most certainly dine here again!
The food and service was outstanding as usual. My only complaint was its was super noisy. Considering the price it was hardly an intimate steakhouse setting when you have to literally shout across the table at each other.
Food was excellent so was the service!
As always, Pittsburgh Blue was wonderful. The service begins the moment you walk in the door. Our table was ready and waiting, including my grandson's high chair. We had our drinks delivered quickly, and we were ready to order our meals at the same time. The food was delicious, and the birthday cupcakes with ice cream came as the last bite of the meal was swallowed.
Server was great - food was great.
But the table next to us had kids screaming :(
Two out of the five meals were very good. The queen prime was tough and lacking flavor and the scallops were undercooked. The bright light in the evening was that our waiter, Destiny, was fun and engaging.
We had an issue with the corn bread mush that came with the bacon appetizer. It was nasty! We told the waiter and he said the chef assured us it was made that day (which is not necessary to say as it made us feel dumb). We are convinced it was rancid. They didn't charge us for it, which was great.
My steak was over cooked from what I asked for and also burnt on the outside to the point that it was too salty/burnt tasting and distasteful. I would have asked the server to have them remake it but she never stopped back within a reasonable time after serving us so I just ate it anyways since I was hungry. Very disappointing considering how much the steak was so I feel like the overall value of the meal was low. Our server started off strong but then completely forgot about us after she was given a large party. We were all finished eating for at least 20 minutes (probably closer to 30) and just sitting there chatting before the bus boy came by to box up our food. We finally caught our servers attention and had to ask her for the check. The side dishes were all delicious though! It was still a decent meal in comparison to many other places, but for what we paid I definitely will not return. Quality was well below what I expected.
Waitress quite "know it all", almost critised my husband for wanting an ice cube in his Manhattan & then served it on a glass that the ice cube didn't fit in.
The hash browns were flavorless. Absolutely no seasoning and onions just in the middle-large chunks. We love PB Maple Grove, just made a mistake and made reservation at Edina. Won't happen again!
The service was inconsistent. The server was absent for a long time when we first sat down. I had a dinner salad consisted of iceberg lettuce-was not asked if I wanted ground pepper. My steak was very well when I had asked for only medium-well. We mentioned it was my birthday (twice) and the server said he had something special for me (twice) but nothing was brought to the table. For the money I will go to Manny’s.
My steak and lobster was very good and cooked excellent. My wife's steak was under cooked so they took it back to finish cooking it.
I had an awesome dining experience
Went for a birthday dinner! Food was excellent as always! Recommend the prime rib! Was given a red velvet cupcake as a birthday treat as well. A nice surprise to a great evening!
As good as it gets! Amazing food, fantastic service and a caring manager. Well trained staff...perfection accomplished!
The bar manager, Andrew, was exceptional. He was able to suggest several options that I had not tried. The cocktail selection was amazing. Will definitely be coming back.
Great experience and a fun place to go for a special occasion! Awesome food!
It was quite noisy the night we were there, we were seated next to a very large group. The food was excellent as was the service.
Good food and cheaper than Mannys with similar menu.
As always, a wonderful experience with good and with atmosphere
Was here for my anniversary & fiancés Birthday.
SERVICE was great, staff was very friendly,
But some of the customers that were sitting where we were sitting all She did was stare at us like we didn’t belong at the restaurant but at the same time you don’t own the restaurant we can come there & spend our money & eat just like you. We all bleed the same your not better then we are all equal. I shouldn’t have to feel uncomfortable to the point where No longer wanted to be at the place. But besides that we loved the food & our waiter !
This is my first time at Pittsburgh Blue.
The aged ribeye was amazing, the loaded mashed potatoes were great, and the asparagus was think and delicious! I would definitely recommend to this restaurant to anybody looking to have a great meal. Although you will most likely spend over $100 on a date for 2, I would absolutely recommend going here.
Everything was great. Food and service was good. Just a bit noisy since we were sat in a booth right by the kitchen.
Very nice restaurant and enjoyed ambiance along with a great meal. Bone in filet was exceptional and alaskan king crab a pleasant surprise! Manhattan was awesome and very nice wine list. Exceptional service from our waitress!
Excellent service and a bit noisy.
Food was great as usual.
Food was awesome! Prime rib was very flavorful and tender. Hash browns were great just as ordered.
Little disappointed with service. Had to ask to have beverage refilled. Waitress never came back to pick up bill . Good thing I was paying cash so I could just leave it on the table.
Best Valentines ever. The 50-day aged Ribeye and Cowboy steak is best we’ve had in MN. Highly recommend
Typical crazy atmosphere for Valentines Day. Great food though!
Good food, service was good. To me of food was real good!
We went there for Valentines Day-lunch. It was great
Valentine’s Day lunch!
Always enjoy my visits to PB. Tried something new, Beef Stroganoff, was very disappointed with lack of flavor. Perhaps I was given too many noodles and lacked topping. Did love my usual chowder tho and my guests were pleased with their meals!
This was the 3rd Anniversary in a row that we celebrated at Pittsburgh Blue. Great food and service. We even had the same waiter from last year who gave us first class service and a wonderful dessert with 25th Anniversary written on it as a surprise. Love this place!
Great food - We enjoyed our server, Kristi. She was very attentive!
We have fun every time we have dinner at Pittsburgh Blue. We used to frequent a different restraunt in Bloomington, however, we find the food and staff much more enjoyable here.
Went the for specifically for the the lobster roll. Had to send back. Way too salty. Had to reorder a another item. Service was excellent.
Restaurant is very cold. I was not the only one with a coat on while eating. The cold vents blow directly on the table.
