This review is not so much about the food, but about the service. I was there on a date, the same night a group of people were celebrating graduation and being very loud. When George (manager?) noticed this, he took immediate action. He relocated us to a different area of the restaurant, which was more quiet and intimate. For the rest of the evening him and our server Hector went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing experience. You can find great food across DC, but great service....this is one of the few places where you’ll find it. I’ll definitely come back and will recommend it to everyone looking to have a great experience.
This was our fist time at Pisco y Nazca, and had a great experience, due in large part to our server Angel. Without much help from us, Angel provided a diverse set of recommended dishes for our three-person group, suggesting different combinations based on our preferences. We took all of his recommendations, and shared four delicious and complementary dishes including a ceviche, steak dish, seafood platter, and pork starter. The drinks and food were fantastic, and we will certainly return.
Sadly it did not deliver. It looked better on the menu .
My office is a few doors down, and Pisco y Nazca is our go-to for a great lunch and happy hour.
We had a great experience with our server Yousef!
Best Peruvian food in DC. We especially love the grilled octopus. The service is also amazing!
Reservation process was easy. Checking in with hostess was easy as well! Service was great. We ordered pisco aperol which were good and for entrees, we got empanadas, the potato appetizer, a traditional ceviche, the chicken bowl entree, and the lomo saltado. Lomo Saltado was phenomenal, can't wait to come back here and try other drinks and the other entrees!
Loved the restaurant! Definitely going back and recommended!
Mothers Day brunch. Great food and even better service.
Wonderful food and wonderful host! Would definitely come back again!
The food was incredible and very authentic. We will absolutely go back!
Excellent all around. The food was great, but perhaps even more remarkable were the service and the cocktails (on Saturday afternoon happy hour!).
Brought two newbies to the restaurant and they loved it
Savor the tostadas with succulent pulled pork, the bright, fresh ceviche that invigorates your taste buds, and Peru’s take on the Benedict that oozes with golden egg yolk. Wash it all down with the red Sangria with Bourbon—a new combination that is both refreshing and warming. We highly recommend the experience at Pisco Y Nazca!
The service was great! But we all agreed that the quality of the food has decreased a lot. The price of the dishes are very high for the quality of their food. They must improve!
Best ceviche and piscos in town—hope no one else discovers the happy hour so I can keep it for myself!
I really wanted to like my lunch but the entire lunch experience was miserable because we were so cramped. Don’t get me wrong, the food was delicious with bold flavors but our table for 6 people was poorly placed on one small table in the back of the restaurant where one of the seat was under the fire place. Imagine standing up from your seat and hitting the mantle!!! The entire meal felt cramped and there was no room to move around. The waiter had to walk around 2 tables just to take our order because the restaurant had cramped too many tables and chairs in the back room. I’m sorry but it was ridiculous. When we walked out we saw that the people in the main dining room had better arrangements. The noise in the room was also pretty loud. I wouldn’t book a lunch meeting at this restaurant. We couldn’t hear each other. Sad to say that we all left disappointed.
Protip: if they start walking you towards the back of the room, just say no.
Made a reservation for six people and came on time, but got a table for four people so we couldn’t fit the plates we ordered (begged for a larger table and the male host told us the norm was to seat six people like this). The servers didnt hold on to the new plates although there was no room to place them on the table and kept getting irritated we weren’t eating faster. The noise level is out of the ordinary...lunch sounds like 1AM party. Although our office is in the building next door —none of us want to go back. We related the experience to other colleagues and they had similarly awful experiences.
Simply outstanding. Great food, great ambiance, and good service. The lunch special menu was superb value. This is my 4th time at Pisco & Nazca and it has consistently impressed me.
I absolutely love ceviche so this is a great place for it! It was extremely loud inside though, like there was no sound absorption at all and it was really hard to hear the server or the person I was dining with. Other than that, the food was delicious and I will definitely return! We knew we wanted to get the ceviche and the plancha anticuchera, and our server helped us pick the perfect small plate of the pork tostones to add to our meal. I'm always very grateful when servers are decisive and helpful with suggestions and recommendations.
Amazing food, great staff, awesome ambience. I would definately recommend this place. One of our favorite restaurants in the area.
Great authentic Peruvian food, good service but a little it too noisy
I booked this place as a special birthday night which was noted in the reservation. What a bad experience. We arrived at 730 and it was so loud it was literally hurting my ears. When we asked the waiter suggestions, we couldn’t hear anything he said. We asked to move, and we did. It was slightly better but not by much.
The food was just OK. We had a civiche and a few other dishes to share. After just coming back from a trip to the region, it wasn’t that impressive especially considering the price. At this price point there are other better Peruvian places in DC. At the end of dinner there wasn’t even a mention of a birthday. We will not be coming back.
Outstanding experience. The food is out of this world as are the cocktails. And out wonderful server, Maria, gave the whole evening a special touch with her warmth and knowledge. Amazing birthday dinner.
It was too noisy—not energetic—very loud.
Quite good food, big portions but too cramped and noisy to relax and enjoy it.
Great spot. Highly recommend for lunch or drinks.
Great spot for brunch - great selection of traditional Peruvian dishes and brunch favorite.
Terribly noisy! Food was good. Causa crocante, anticuchos de res. Pisco sour was not sweet enough (I’m Peruvian!). Waiters were lovely, and the overall ambiance at brunch began as pleasant, but by 1:00 pm we were shouting. The place was just too noisy to truly enjoy.
Food and drinks were excellent, service was great, everyone was happy. We will be back for sure.
The food is amazing! Very delish and favorable! I will be back!
This was my third time at the restaurant. First two experiences were great. On Friday, it was so loud, I could not hear my dining companion speak. We left as soon as we had finished eating because it was so unbearably loud.
Really good food - as always, but no discounts during Happy Hour. The Pisco Sour is very good, the Sour Grapes only OK.
Amazing food! Their ceviches are fantastic!
Food was good, not spectacular. Waiter helpful. Needs some fabric to soften noise.
We truly enjoyed ourselves. It is a hidden gem but the food was out of this world! Angel was the best server and the Passion Sour was one of my favorites. The ceviche was some of the best I have ever had. Everything was flavorful, and great for groups! I can't wait to go back for brunch.
Ambiance was energizing and refreshing, and those high top tables by the large window open to the street allowed our party to feel like we were dining outside while we sat inside. The best of both worlds. Ceviche was fresh and citrusy, presentation simple and focused on the food. Service was attentive and helpful - great experience from start to finish!
An amazing place, with great food, drinks and awesome service.
Wonderful experience overall. We had a team lunch together, and the food was fantastic. The lunch set menu gave us a good option to try different food. The chef kindly gave us a chance to try a new dish (shrimp paella with squid ink), and it was absolutely delicious. We would come back to the restaurant for another occasion.
Went for a birthday and the food & service were great. Looking forward to go again asap!. best Ceviche in town.
