It took forever on a Thursday at 1:45 pm to get our food. Asked for Yucca fries and received regular. I understand mistakes happen but when they arrived, not good. The chicken with onions and linguini was salty. So was my friend’s Pollo y arroz. The ceviche was very good but when asked if it comes with the customary plantain chips, was told no and that we would need to request plantain chips. When the chips arrived it looked like they provided the bottom of the chip bag - broken pieces and crumbs. No presentation! I was really disappointed as I love supporting local restaurants. I have had better food at Pollo Tropical, Crispy Juicy and Don Pollo.

We were asked if there were any food allergies, I said cilantro. When I ordered my appetizer, I clarified it would not be spicy or have cilantro. However, the ceviche was served, and I started to eat it, it was very spicy, flecked with red pepper, and covered in cilantro (which I assumed was parsley, until I ate it). The arrow con pollo is served over a bowl of rice which is heavily mixed with cilantro. While the restaurant has white rice, they wanted to charge and extra $5 to use white rice, rather than cilantro rice!!!!! Didn’t ask to speak to manager, but question how they plan to encourage a customer to return.

The service during our second visit at the Bethesda location was no better than the first. We first visited a week or two after the opening and had terrible service. We decided to excuse the lousy service on newness and went back again last night. Service was no better. Our waiter brought us two items during the meal: a bottle of water about 3/4 of the way through and a check. After he disappeared the first time a manager came by and brought us water. A few minutes later the manager came back and took our order. Someone else brought the food. About 3/4 of the way through our meal the waiter returned with the water he said he’d bring 30 minutes before. As we were finishing up he came by to see if we wanted anything else but at that point we simply asked for the check to go. He then plopped down the portable payment system with the total and tip already showing on the screen. Not even a chance to review what we ordered. I did leave a 20% (underserved) tip because that’s simply restaurant economics these days but it would have been nice to see the bill to know what I was paying for. Food is pretty good, but not good enough to make up for the lousy experience.

Service is friendly but a little slow. The Arroz Con Pollo was chicken bone and skin. Not much meat. Waaayyyy too much rice maybe to look like an ample serving. Need to reverse - double the chicken and half the rice.

There was no A/C and extremely hot! Also served water with no ice despite it being so hot! I could barely eat from the heat.

Delicious food, excellent service, beautiful ambiance. The lunch special is great taste for a wonderful price. It is wonderful to see P&N newly open in Bethesda to add to the rich selection of foods from around the world.
