It was so good! Took us early and the table had a great view. The host was pleasant. The service was fantastic!
The food was outstanding. Loved the shrimp and grits! Thanks for making it a wonderful evening!
Food was over cooked. Waitress was very attentive. Waited a long time for our food.
Not our first time here and we find it to be an excellent restaurant. Food is always great and staff are very attentive. You won’t be disappointed…give it a try.
Excellent time at a wonderful restaurant with awesome food!
Definitely my favorite restaurant at my favorite weekend destination!
Great evening! Beautiful restaurant with amazing sunset views. Our server Chris is always attentive and helpful! One of our favorite spots in Mount Dora!
An innovative menu....everything I ordered was excellent....our server Nathan was funny, attentive, and efficient
My husbands birthday which we indicated…….never mentioned……..service spotty almost non existent, food good, but because of lack of servive probably will not be back
Not as special as it was in the past. Dinner's were not hot. One of our party had
steak much to well done, for her medium order. Then she was brought another bowl
of mashed potatoes, which was hot. One order of stuffed salmon was dry and also
not hot. Crab cake appetizer was cold, and should not have been a cold dish, was
always a hot appetizer anywhere else. We tried to overlook these deficiencies because of COVID shortages, of staff, but it was more of a kitchen issue. The staff
was great. The best part of the evening was the Bananas Foster which our server
Good food and terrific waitress named Taylor.
We drove from Orlando to meet a friend for lunch at Pisces Rising. I had not been there in several years, and think the kitchen has gone downhill. Most of what we ordered was okay, but it was nothing special, and certainly not worth the drive from Orlando. One major problem was the taste of the water, which we were told had been treated by the restaurant. If this was the case, then they need a new/better water purification system.
On the positive side, our server was outstanding, and did a great job coping with the problems from the kitchen.
We had a fantastic meal at Picses Rising. Shared the tuna poke generous portion appetizer. The grouper special on purple rice was fabulous. The piece de resistance was the bananas Foster served tableside.
I ordered the ribeye steak with creamed bacon spinach & onion rings. All were excellent. Service was prompt & friendly. Atmosphere so lovely. Try it! You won't be disappointed!
My husband and I had an amazing experience at Pisces Rising celebrating his birthday. Our server Stephanie was terrific and our food was as awesome as it always is there
Great service, food was excellent, very nice view onto Lake.
The food was amazing the service was horrible the hostess was rude… Our waiter was very late for everything we waited for drinks we got peel and eat shrimp no napkins no dishes then our food came and we were looking for a condiment he never came back my husband waited for another drink for almost a half hour and they were not busy at all our reservations were for 830 music stopped at nine. The food was very very good but everything else was not!!!
A very busy night as usual in Mount Dora. Service was good, maybe a bit slow but it was very busy. My wife and our friend both got the Grouper which was outstanding. I decided on the Ribeye which was disappointing. Although done exactly as I asked for (medium rare), it was not a tender piece of meat and more fatty than typical of a Ribeye. Wish I had gotten the Grouper. That dish was excellent.
Birthday dinner, great dessert!
Great food and service.
Very good food and good service. Friendly staff. Lovely location in Mount Dora
When you live in Mount Dora with all the restaurant choices it is a pleasure to return to our favorite Pisces Rising.
The food is locally sourced and well presented. Always ask for the specials, though usually only a few.
The view and ambiance from the large patio, patio bar, or anywhere in the dining room are quintessential Mount Dora.
Worth the drive from Orlando if you want to experience the delight that keeps us living here.
Loved the location. Special Cabernet was very good. Highlight of meal was the blackened shrimp and grits
The food was outstanding! Cooked to perfection and seasoned just right! Manager and wait staff were very attentive in making sure all was good. Had a great evening and would definitely recommend. Pricing was a bit high but worth it.
Excellent! Jim was the perfect waiter and the food was delicious!
It was amazing…as always! The setting. The food! The service. We will keep going back.
The food and service were excellent.
Food was very bland. Chicken was way over cooked to the point it crumbled when we cut it. Mashed potatoes were cold. The ribeye was one you could get at Golden Coral. Banana Fosters cooked table side was warmed bananas and ice cream. Should have been cooked longer to get the caramelization. They were still white and the taste was well..boring. The restaurant has so much potential due to the location. It could use a cleaning and a makeover. Like every other restaurant in this area. Overall thoughts are, if you want to charge higher end prices you need to have higher end quality. Definitely not worth the money. Like I said, has potential but currently really missing the mark. We went with high hopes despite seeing bad reviews. Unfortunately, we left feeling we had no reason to return.
Was the first time my husband dined at Pieces Rising and he LOVED everything about it! We will be back.
The special, sea bass, was fair but expensive. The rest of the meal for this party or two was unacceptable. French onion soup was not traditional, seemed to be flavored with vinegar, was very salty and sent away and the salad had no cashews, no spring mix, way too much cabbage and a pool of soy sauce formed in the bowl, I gave up after picking thru for the chicken. This is a place for a cocktail at sunset.
Had dinner for two. Starters were good but one entree was cold. Sent it back. they brought another after a few minutes and that was cold also. Called for the manager who was not interested other than to comp the meal.
Great meal and customer in a nice place. Will come again!
Richie, our server, was great - very attentive.
Two people in our party ordered the crab cakes. They were disappointed in the small portions- two very small cakes- for $18. I know they won’t return.
I ordered the seafood salad. It was good, nice and fresh.
I will return
2 meals were exceptionally good ' the eggs Benedict and the quiche of the day. The breakfast burrito not so much
We usually only go to Pieces for Sunday brunch which is outstanding but we have started having dinner here recently. It's quickly becoming one of our favorites. Good food, good service and great atmosphere. It's 5 stars for me but if I were to give an area of improvement I do wish they had a more diverse wine selection. We find the selection is a bit lacking. But this is a minor suggestion.
Our waiter, Jim, was very good. We forgot to ask him how he got from Wisconsin to Mount Dora.
The food was excellent and the wait staff was great! This was our first time there and we didn't feel as if the ambiance of the restaurant was reflected in the prices. We were expecting a quiet dinner for a special occasion. Dress code stated business casual, that was not the case at all. Great place to eat, just overpriced for the atmosphere.
Always a good experience. Lunchtime is my favorite. Quiet, good food and service. Lunch on the deck overlooks Mount Dora Yacht Club and Lake Dora.
We loved this place! There were four of us in our party, and none had been here before because we are all from out of town. This place was recommended to us and we are so glad we went! What a fun vibe and a great menu. The view was gorgeous. Our server was amazing, I wish I remember his name 😫 will definitely be back.
The absolute best Brisket Poutine of all time! OMG! Will go back just for that~!
How lucky we are to have Pisces Rising our local go-to place for lunch or dinner with friends or family. Never a disappointment from appetizers to delicious desserts. My current favorite is Mushroom Ravioli, Cranberry Almond Green Beans topped off with perfect cheesecake (as good as Junior's, so many years ago).
Rachael was our server this time. She was the perfect balance between knowledgeable about the menu details, attentiveness, and pleasant.
Of course, parking is an issue Friday, Saturday or Sunday in Downtown Mount Dora, but allow 30 minutes to cruise and find a parking place or go directly to 4th Avenue and N Baker where you can almost always find parking. Only a 3 block walk. https://goo.gl/maps/UrStxArDYMFwU73N7
This was our 3rd time there and food has been excellent every time.
