The food was just ok...nothing special. We were eating out on the deck, which is basically outside, so is safer at this time. However, none of the servers or bar tenders were masked (but the host was.) We are not from FL, and after spending 2 days there it’s certainly no surprise as to why FL’s Covid numbers are out of control-not saying that just because of Pirates Cove...it’s a common, rampant disregard of safety in the FL. The Pirates Cove Resort and Marina is a nice place to stay when things are a little safer. The view is very nice.
We All enjoyed the food 👍👍👍👍👍and the Staff was wonderful🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟, Kudos to Carsen & Anna Marie ! Thanks
We had a very nice family lunch. This was our second visit and we would come back again.
Jen needs a raise, the food and service was fabulous
We sat in the dining room that had table cloths. Sitting in the bar area would be noisier but closer to the water. Extensive menu and food was delicious!!
Food and service was very good for the time we were there.
We were able to eat outside which was nice with a nice water view. It was very quiet for a Saturday night and we realized why when the food came. It was not good at all
Also the early bird drinks were not a good value at all.
We won’t be back.
Server was extremely busy, but NEVER felt too busy for us...this was our first time at your establishment but we will be returning
The food is really good. The atmosphere is very casual, with tables on a porch looking out on a marina. The servers are very accommodating. Great place for a low key lunch or dinner.
Is a beautiful restaurant nice environment. Service was good our waitress did great for being the only server in that room and our large table. The food was ok the entrees had no seasoning on anything was very bland. Would def go back for some drinks and apps at the bar area instead of a sit down meal.
We were very disappointed. The place was packed like sardines. No social distancing at all. Food was mediocre at best. Condiments served in plastic cups. Loud intoxicated table of 12 next to us should have been told to keep it down by the manager. Waitress never asked us for coffee or desert. Overall a bad experience and will not go back.
Cocktails were good, entrees not so good. Snapper was rubbery, very overcooked. Rib eye was pretty tasteless. Overall not a great food experience.
Food was horrible. Salad was supposed to be tomato or cucumber. It’s was wrong and had no cheese or olives. Steaks were gray and cold. Wingers were frozen. Potato’s were raw. Horrible experience and social distancing was NOT ADHERED TO. We will not return or promote anyone dining here.
Nice view on the water. Had a good band playing outside.
Food arrived hot and delicious! There were 5 of us and we all ordered different dinners and were all pleased.
Second time here. Food is very good. We were surprised at the lengths they went to comply with the table separation and address the virus concerns. I admit I was annoyed at first when told they were serving only the lunch menu items for dinner, as I had my mouth watered for the mahi Rockefeller but after seeing the obvious care they were taking to make it safe I really appreciated the work. Also the stuffed shrimp are a wonderful substitute. We had a great meal and will be back.
Spring break vacation
Dropped by here by chanced due to open table and was pleasantly surprised!
Just a bit too loud coming from the dance floor into the dining room
We happened to be dining while the live music was warming up but stay long enough to hear the band play. Would have liked to listen.
Nice ambience- it has an old florida homey look to it. It wasn’t busy when we got there, it seemed to be a quiet night. We ate in the dining room and there was live music in the bar area which was nice. Food was great, not large portions and reasonably priced. Also not overly seasoned and salty. We all had seafood and it was cooked perfectly. The wait staff was very friendly. The tables near the windows were a little close to each other, so if it were busy, it would be tight,y packed. That would be the only thing I would improve.
Wish they didn’t allow smoking around food tables. Folks were smoking in the bar and it circled over to dining tables. Dinner was good.
It was a bad start but great finish. We’d made a reservation as it was a special occasion and we didn’t want to wait in line or be disappointed. Both occurred and initially the front desk attendants seemed nonplused. They blamed a computer error and problem with the opentable system. They were not apologetic. It wasn’t until I explained the situation and appealed to their good business sense that they found us a table for 5, as reserved days before.
Once seated, the server misunderstood orders but was very pleasant about replacing drinks. Our meals were delivered with expertise and everyone enjoyed their selection - ranging from seafood to steak. Other than a bland calimari appetizer, everything was tasty, cooked to perfection and served at the proper temperature. After dinner we joined a festive bar group for great music from a live band and dancing.
People were friendly and inviting. Service was prompt. Food was good.
Our first time dining here... food was very reasonable and all five of us said the good was excellent...we will be back!
Should be no stars. Run from this nightmare of a restaurant. Average food at best definitely frozen fish not fresh. worst service I have ever experienced. Took 10 min to see a waitress (where we placed our whole order at once). However, 45 minutes later, we still didn’t even have bread at our table. Almost 1 hour before we got our m raw appetizer. 1 hour for a raw appetizer is ridiculous . Then about 2 min later, they bring the salad and the Entrées all at the same time. I asked if they could remove the appetizer and the salad off my bill since I had to eat my warm entree that was brought at the same time as all our other food, including appetizer! The owner refused to help in any way. I would also like to add there were only 30 people max in a 100+ person capacity restaurant. This owner should not be in the SERVICE Industry. There are three better options one block away Shrimpers, Twisted Tuna, and Manatee. We will never be returning to this establishment. It blows my mind how the owner of a restaurant just disregarded our concerns, and refused to speak with us (sending a business card that isn’t even hers in our final bill) as patrons on Valentine’s Day.
Great food and view, quick service, friendly people. Watching the boats come in is entertaining. We love eating lunch there and watching the activity! Food is consistently good She crab soup and onion soup are wonderful and every entrée we have tried is good. We eat there 2-3 times a month-its our go to place when we want to sit out on the outside and watch the action-the plastic enclosure can be seen through and if it the wind is too strong we can still see well to the outside.
Would recommend the food was excellent. Good service and beautiful view.
Previously we'd only eaten lunch at Pirate's cove and loved it - food, service, ambiance - but we stayed at the resort this past weekend and had one lunch, one dinner and two breakfasts and here is the summary - again, everything about lunch was great. Dinner - food was very marginal, therefore, overpriced - there was some issue going on between our original server and one that was assigned to us later, Jamara that was uncomfortable. The first breakfast, the food was great, but the service was awful - Suzanne - it took 30 minutes just to get our drinks and another 30 minutes when we asked for our check. The second breakfast, we told them we didn't want Suzanne, and got Jamara and the food and service was great! So, I'm not even sure how to rate the overall service - bottom line, don't go for dinner and if you have trouble with your server at the start, find a manager or ask for a different server.
We went to hear band and were pleasantly surprised to have found another great restaurant! We are locals and it's super nice to find a new fun place.
Service started out very bad. Took us 40 mins to get someone to come over and get our drink orders and even bring bread to the table. They eventually got there act together and it was a lovey evening.
It was the worst dining experience we have ever had. I picked a new place to celebrate my husbands birthday with dinner and it was a fail. It took the waiter 15 minutes to bring us water. The waiter was new and could’ve used more guidance about the menu and how things are prepared. He said no substitutions on specials, yet he did not know what came with the specials. I specifically had him repeat blacked fish and they brought fish with a bunch of sauce on it. They took it back and smeared a bunch of blackening season over it with sauce mixed in and served it to me. It was inedible even for my brother who eats everything. He ordered a seafood platter for 28.00 that looked more like an appetizer. It had two shrimp, one crab cake and two scallops. The manager did offer to comp my meal since it was inedible but my brother was furious we paid so much for terrible service and small portions. In the future we will stick with our two favorite places, king Neptune’s and the Gafford. We made the best of it and enjoyed live music outside later that evening. We now know this is not a place to eat, but a nice place to enjoy outdoor music.
Service was great. My wife had the Christmas Turkey dinner she said it was excellent. I had a broiled seafood platter it was nothing exceptional no favor was the problem need to be a little more creative with the flavors. We will be back to see if the regular menu is better.
The food was good but it took over an hour
To get 4 salads with grilled shrimp
We asked for bread 2 times
We got it after 40 minutes
We were the only table in the restaurant
Service was not good
Food was excellent, the service was perfect and we had a great graduation dinner for my wife.
Great food. Reasonably priced. Waterfront with marina view. Outdoor seating. Nice staff. Very pretty inside. It was empty on a Friday night. I have no idea why because we had absoutely nothing to complain about. The meatloaf was just like home and everyone else had meals that they loved. Go visit them and see for yourself; it's a great hidden treasure! Can't wait to go back to Florida so I can visit again.
My hog snapper was delicious but my husband’s shrimp and grits were over powered by tomato paste/base. The menu has a very nice selection so we will be back. Don’t understand why it was pretty empty for this time of year. Yum.
Waterfront. Food wasn't bad. Bloody Mary was great. Server was spread a little thin.
Always a wonderful meal. Can't beat the view!!!
It's just ok. Nothing great about it at all. I ordered a medium steak and garlic mashed potatoes along came a rare and gum-chewy steak with regular mashed potatoes and no juice or gravy. Blah. Wasn't worth the price.
