Have eaten at Pirate's Cove several times last 2 months- food very good, especially key lime pie for friend's B'day.Would recommend for anyone liking seafood-scallops very good.
Food was great, service was great!! Just wouldn’t sit so close to the bar next time.
The restaurant has a nice setting on the waterfront. The food was average-nothing to write home about. Our waitress was horrible-typical ditz. We asked for things that she forgot 3 minutes later. All she kept saying was "awesome". If we had a different waitress maybe a higher rating. For my money-- will not be back.
Had a nice dinner. Was a little loud in the room where we were seated but there were a few bigger groups around us so to be expected.
Solo guitarist with a very loud amp.
Consistently good, staff and management friendly. Good music.
Restaurant overlooks a marina. We were seated on the porch, which was open to the outside, but at the table closest to the bar. Since we had made a reservation several days in advance, we were hoping to be farther away from the bar. To its credit, the bar was not noisy. Food was great, Corinne was an excellent wait staff, proving to be knowledgeable about the menu. The only issue I had was the smell of cigarette smoke. Since this is a waterfront restaurant, it could have come from outside.
This visit was abnormal for Pirates Cove. I understand that requests aren’t always fulfilled but being seated in the large dining room where extra large parties, including large families with many children, and those groups that require the extra seating was annoying. Next time I will politely decline a table with these noisy crowds and go elsewhere. The food, as usual, was very good, except for one dish that had to be returned because the fish was over cooked and dry. The replacement dish was great. Because we were seated among the large parties our service was next to non-existent. It took three requests just to get water, and that was from a passing busboy. The normal owner? who always makes the rounds was absent from our room - until the aforementioned dry fish plate. To her credit, even though she was on her way home, she made sure everything was made right.
Shrimp scampi was great! The view was beautiful.
The guy who seated us waz rude to one of our party who sat down while he was arranging a table that he broyus to. Food was very good though
We arrived at the restaurant on time for our reservation. We were greeted by the hostess who was dishevelled in her jeans with an old sweatshirt. Our name wasn't on the reservation list. She asked how we made the reservation and we told her through Open Table. She said that's why. They had computer problems and couldn't access our reservation (I guess neither the manager or anyone else have cell phones!?). In our reservation we request a waterview table which we mentioned to the hostess but of course none were available so she put at an available table. Since the hostess is the first person you meet when you go to a restaurant, you would think that the management would want to make a favorable impression on diners by having a host or hostess neatly dressed and groomed and personable. That was not the case at this establishment.
Our server was great. Pleasent and attentive. The food however was mediocre. I had the lobster bisque for and appetizer. A specialty of the restaurant. I was thickened with too much flour so the soup looked and tasted like paste. For a main dish I had the seafood plater of haddock, scallops and a jumbo shrimp. It was okay and there was plenty of food. My wife had the oysters rockefeller for an appetizer. They were okay. For her main dish she had the jumbo baked stuffed shrimp. There were 6 small shrimp which could barely hold the stuffing and were overdone. Also, they weren't jumbo shrimp as the menu said they were. Oddly, the one shrimp that came with the fishermans platter was jumbo (I don't get that, go figure). Overall the food was mediocre.
The restaurants ambience in the inside dining room where we ate wasn't very romantic (after all, it was Valentine's day) and could have been much better by simply dimming the lights and lighting the candles on the tables. The outside dining area looked better. Very nautica, dim lights and a water view.
Best thing about this visit was the food, as well it should be. This was Valentine’s Day so it was busy and the service suffered a bit but the management was active with their efforts to help out. We sat on the outside deck and the tables there are a bit close together. They’re OK for normal size people but when the (rude) fat woman sat behind my wife and tried to acquire extra space by pushing against my wife’s chair, the mood became a bit tense. It might have been tenable if the said fat woman had at least excused her rude behavior. However, if the tables weren’t so crowded together then this episode wouldn’t have happened in the first place. And let’s face it, as I viewed the clientele of the restaurant, the heavyweights were much more numerous than the normal sized people.
First time visit ; Valentine’s Day !!
Loved the variety in the menu; service was super
Only issue was that they bring the courses rapid fire
Only complaint was table outside was right next to bar so very noisy, Smokey & no table cloth. Meanwhile I had made reservations for nice table with tablecloth outside. Did not seem to be giving any priority to people WITH reservations.
Very nice. Friendly staff. Good food.
Great food, good service will be back. If I had to say one thing is the tables are pretty close to each other. Once someone sits next to you your chairs bumped. And to get up use to restroom we had to ask the person to push in ... and we all are small people.
The staff was very friendly and easy going, the view was wonderful, and the food was good. I used this as an in-between meeting point with family for lunch on a weekday. The soup was especially good (chicken and spinach that day), the tacos were good, the Thai scallops were good, but should have been served with white rice and did not have many scallops included. We really enjoyed our very friendly waitress as we chatted and watched the sea birds in the marina. There is a bar adjacent to the outdoor seating, so you may be smelling cigarette smoke as you eat. There were a couple of smokers there when we ate and it drifted over a few times. Other than that, it was a great place to grab a bite for lunch and priced reasonably!
Service was great. Food was excellent. Cost was reasonable. Kids were happy, Adults were happy and the seniors were happy.
We came to hear a band. The band was amazing. The rest of the experience left us wanting for another restaurant.
The server didn't know if there was a drink menu because the bar had been remodeled. At best she was able to provide us with a wine list.
We had a party of 9. Everyone ordered a drink, server forgot to bring some of the drinks and had to be reminded.
The food was brought in phases. Some got their orders immediately, while others waited another 10 minutes. The restaurant was empty. The food was not good. Flavors didn't mix well. The Jamaican rice bowl did not come with rice. The shrimp salad did not have the shrimp tails removed.
Overall it was disappointing.
After taking 10 minutes or so for our server to show up, our Christmas dinner was uphill from that point. I had the turkey dinner and my friend had the baked seafood combo. The food was tasty and generous portions were served. I would have liked to have seen some light dessert included for the meal price ( chocolate mousse, vanilla ice cream, dessert shooter, small cannoli, etc). I would return on a Holiday as we dined at Pirates Cove beacuse another local favorate ran out of food on Thanksgiving.......
Very pleased with dining experience and overall atmosphere by the marina.
This is a great spot and a gem on the Treasure Coast.
We're locals. This wasn't our first time visiting Pirate's Cove. The food is good, as is the setting. On this night we began with a couple of great drinks in the bar. Jen, the bartender did a super job considering how busy she was. It was a bitter-sweet occasion for us, and it was off to a nice start.
But then, the hostess told my husband that they didn't have a reservation for us. She brought over Doug, the manager, who said we didn't have a reservation and they were full but he'd find us a table. I had the confirmation number so I went to speak to the hostess. She said, as I told your husband, we have no reservation for you. I told her that I had used Open Table and presented my confirmation number.
Oh....Open Table, she said, then pulled out an ipad and there was our name! That settled, I asked for the second time to be seated on the porch. When the hostess came to the bar to seat us, I turned to grab my things and she was gone. Because nobody had told us NO in answer to our request to sit on the porch I headed for the porch. I waited a bit for the hostess but eventually sat down at a table for two. We were given menus. Then Doug came out and said, YOU CAN'T SIT HERE, it's reserved. I said, yes and we made reservations. He said no you didn't. To which I said, yes, we did, on Open Table. He said he'd shut down Open Table hours ago. I said that I'd made the reservation hours ago. At this point he offered to seat us inside. We declined and left. The important fact is this: At no point did Doug or the hostess apologize for the mix-up on THEIR part over our reservation. We were made to feel like interlopers, like we weren't good enough for Doug's restaurant.
Lunch with friends from NY and we were all very happy with our meals, our waitress and the view.
Pretty waterside setting but, unfortunately, food not great. Fresh mahi-mahi too fried in too much oil. Server was very pleasant and professional.
We love dining at Pirate's Cove. The food is always good and you can't beat the view!
Good views, good food. Note, not in downtown Stuart.
Food was very good, very reasonably priced. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and dinners. There were 9 of us, no complaints and everyone left happy
Nice waterfront location with friendly staff and good service. Menu sounds good but the food lacked flavor and imagination for the price.
One of our favorite restaurants for years. Always have good food and great service. Keep up the good work!
Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon having a late lunch on the patio overlooking the marina and finishing with live music inside
Great food, great atmosphere. The service was above and beyond.
Deann(a) is the most AMAZING waitress/bartender ever! She made my birthday weekend one I will never forget! Please give her a huge pat on the back for me!
The Restuarant was awful. The only thing nice about it was the view. The food was old. It smelled like mildew. Was the worst restaurant food I've ever had in my whole life. Would not recommend this pkace to anyone for any occasion.
We loved it so much we are going back for their Brunch.
Mahi was overcooked but everything else was cooked to perfection....the staff is awesome and very friendly....we will return very soon
The setting is very nice, situated on the river. The food and the service were not so nice. The servers, while pleasant, kept bringing the wrong dishes to the table. The food was not good. The fish spread had little flavor. The tempura shrimp didn't have tempura batter, just a deep fry batter, which was overcooked. The batter on the shrimp and the fritters, which were brought to us by accident, was very dark brown, not golden. I had the mahi rockerfellar. The mahi was gray and rubbery, clearly overcooked. Thankfully the sauce covered all of the fish. My husband had the cioppino and had a similar issue with the mahi in his dish. By the time we finished the meal we had no desire to try dessert. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
As always service, food superb!!
Had a appetizer of Tempura Wasabi Shrimp. Need I say more? Delish!!!!
You all are amazing! From my waitress Brenda and Ariana not sure I’m getting their names right. Was in Florida solo, and you both treated me like a queen. My husband and I will see you in September!
Food was fair, service was terrible, waitstaff was nice enough but not competent or efficient at all. Manager gave us a discount on our bill, which was nice but it would have been nicer to have had a good experience and good food. The garlic mashed potatoes are really good but if everything we had those were the only standout.
(The band that played after dinner was great.)
