It’s a journey through time, place, and passion, hosted by a man whose fingerprints are on some of the most compelling wines coming out of South Australia and beyond. On this night, Michael opens his personal cellar, pouring back vintages, rare bottlings, and fresh releases, accompanied by a seasonal 4-course menu curated by Pipi’s own Executive Chef, Jordan Clay. Meet the Winemaker: Michael J. Corbett Michael Corbett is a true original—a first-generation vigneron with a restless spirit and an uncompromising vision. With over 30 vintages under his belt, Michael has honed his craft in 13 different regions across four countries, including time spent in Burgundy, the Rhône Valley, Marlborough, and of course, South Australia, where Vanguardist was born. “Corbett is a serious talent, one of those perpetually restless types who don't make their wines—they inhabit them," said wine writer Nick Ryan. The Wines: Rare, Raw, and Beautiful For this special evening, Michael is going deep. He’s delving into his personal archives, as well as previewing some exceptional new releases. Whether you're a dedicated collector or a passionate newcomer, this is a rare opportunity to taste across multiple vintages and varietals, gaining insight directly from the maker himself. Wines on show will include, but certainly not be limited to: V Riesling – Back Vintages: A rare look at how this unique expression of South Australian Riesling evolves with time and patience. 2023 Pommard Pinot Noir: A compelling, Burgundy-born bottling that straddles the line between tradition and personal innovation. Syrah & Grenache – Multi-Vintage Horizontal: Taste the nuance and evolution of these varietals across several vintages, revealing Michael’s long-standing relationship with Rhône-style grapes. In total, 10 wines will be poured, carefully selected to complement the evening’s menu and showcase the full range of Corbett’s artistry—from the bracing mineral edge of his whites to the textured, elegant spice of his reds. For that special occasion this intimate venue provide a 5 star experience with simple decor, beautiful vista & delicious food. I recommend the oysters and trout to indulge. The attentive yet unobtrusive service complements the chef who accommodated our dietary requests.

Luncheon date! Staff very attentive and explained the menu, specials etc. we shared the grilled prawns which were delicious. We followed with the lunch special of ravioli. This was very creative, one large ravioli filled with a spicy filling and covered with bright green powder. Very unusual and truly different and delicious too. Teamed with a Pinot and followed with excellent coffees. The outlook over the Bay was beautiful, and we enjoyed our lunch.

Our dining experience was exceptional...food was delicious and service was friendly & very attentive. Highly recommend...we will be back!

The waiter regularly interrupted to fill our glasses with water and never allowed any of us to finish a glass. He never asked if we wanted any more water and never left an open bottle on the table. I wasn't sure what to make of this but when the bill came it weas clear. $47 dollars for water (4 people). SCAM!!

Location was great and a really extensive wine menu. Food was good but very limited. We had one friend who is strictly dieting and the other four of us wanted to do the chefs selection, they would not slow it. Ultimately they lost money and business as our meal was much cheaper in the end.

Booked for a late sitting last minute and still chose the chef selection for dinner. Didn’t feel rushed or at all like an inconvenience for them to produce 6-7 dishes late in the evening. We had been a few times in the past but tonight we were very pleased with. They hit all the right notes … food, service, value and ambience. It’s on my favourite list at the moment.

Celebrate what you have done with the space, and the unique location. Disappointed as I told the waitress it was my birthday, and no recognition! We also disappointed as we weren't told of any of the specials and therefore missed out on the special mackeral. So whilst a lovely environment and good food, the service from the waitress was poor.

Lovely food, wine, setting and service. The weather wasn't amazing, but we sat in their enclosed outdoor area, which is heated and was very comfortable.

We had the most amazing experience at Pipis. Every single dish that we ve ordered was delicious. Service was on point and the atmosphere was just beautiful . We will definitely be back. Thank you!! Spicy margarita is delicious 🌶️
