Piper's Burger Bar Ratings and Reviews
I very frequently order the same sandwich because I really like it. Today it was exceptionally good. It was hot and delicious. I get the turkey sandwich with Havarti cheese and apples and I always add avocado. I get it on Gluten free bread, which is delicious.
Oscar was there, and is always very friendly. Our waitress did a great job. I haven't seen her before.
This is always a fun place to eat . I love the choices of food. They have great, healthy sandwiches. I usually order the same sandwich, but ordered a different one, this time. I really liked it. It was the cranberry cream cheese turkey sandwich. Oscar was our waiter, and was as friendly as always. He did a great job, as usual. Thank you, Oscar.
Oscar greeted us when we came in and was very friendly, as usual. He always remembers the sandwich I like, and how I like it prepared. I was going to order something different this time, but ended up ordering my usual. However, I have to admit, it wasn't as good as usual. The bread was toasted way too much, and I don't think they put the cheese in. If they did, it wasn't like usual. It was served hot, and the service was very good.
Oscar was very nice and got us a nice quiet booth in the back room. Thank you. I will definitely return, but next time I will try something different.
We love the laidback atmosphere at Piper's and go often, but this most recent time I was very disappointed in the quality of the tomatoes in the caprese salad and the burnt buffalo fries. We are also disappointed that they no longer offer $1 off glasses of any wine during happy hour.
I love this place, and am very happy that I live nearby. I have been there several times for lunch and once for dinner. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. I love the Gluten Free options. I have introduced several of my friends to Pioer's , and they all love the place. I hope it sticks around for a long time.
Oscar is always so friendly and aims to please. Thank you, Oscar, I will see you again.
They were understaffed (one person served as hostess, server and bartender). Likely because she was overwhelmed, she lacked the basics of customer service and was very rushed and impolite at times. The food was less than impressive and they were out of or unable to make some main items (chicken tenders and onion rings, among them).
Overall, it was a very slow and disappointing experience.
I really enjoy the food, price and the waiters at Piper's. My only complaint is that if you are in a hurry you should go somewhere else, because the last two times I have eaten there, the service was extremely slow, and it wasn't even crowded. The waiters and waitresses I had were very nice and efficient, but for some reason it took a really long time to get our food. I will definitely go back, because the food is healthy and delicious!
This was a great place for a light lunch. My turkey sandwich was excellent, and I loved the gluten free rye bread. Our waiter was very nice and the atmosphere is casual and friendly.
I will definitely return. I love all of the healthy options. Great for a beer or wine.
I went here with my elementary aged daughter on a Saturday night - we were both hungry for a good burger and thought to give this place a try even with a 25 minute drive. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and given a table. The place has a nice, trendy look and was about 30% filled. The hostess came over and got our drink orders, however the wait for our server seemed quite long (especially compared to # of servers that I saw). I will say the beer on-tap list was expansive and the hostess was able to suggest a local draft to my liking.
We ordered our food (the menu looked great), both burgers with a medium "pink" center. My daughters order came out first in a reasonable amount of time. It was done for a burger (no pink), but the house cut fries were delicious. The burger was ok. My came out after she was done with her meal. Again the burger was overcooked, I would have said something but I was too hungry and wanted to eat. I also had the home-made onion rings, they were too doughy with not enough onion flavor.
In summary, I had high hopes, but my experience was okay to good.
If you go here, you're not going for the service. We want to love this place, as we live in the neighborhood and it's low-key. However, the service has never been good when we've gone here and has usually been made up for by the average tasting food. At our last dining experience my order was incorrectly brought to me twice. The first time, I received the wrong meal. The second time, my burger came out well done (when I ordered it medium). Overall, I do not recommend this place and we won't be dining here again.
Not sure if I have ever experienced worse service...
While we have continued to return to Piper's due to its close location and great burgers, I'm not sure if we will be returning soon. After 6 visits to Piper's I can definitively state that THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. Waiting over 10 minutes to be acknowledged after being seated is completely unacceptable, and it seems to be the norm based on our visits. And why, when I can almost touch the bar from my table, does it take you 10 minutes to bring me a cocktail? We'd love to make Piper's a regular spot, as the burgers are excellent ...but after three months of visiting Piper's, it almost feels as if they don't care that they provide poor service.
My husband and I live nearby Piper's and hadn't tried it before. We were pleasantly surprised! They have a beautiful little restaurant (although you can't tell that from the outside), with a fireplace and some private booths for seating. We enjoyed some drink and appetizer specials for happy hour, which happens everyday! We also had burgers, which were delicious! Our server was very attentive and friendly, although the place was not very full. We will definitely go back!
This "newish" restaurant has not quite got it figured out yet. If you are going to call yourself a Burger Bar, you had better have exemplary burgers. We had four different burgers, none noteworthy. Ground beef was relegated to a meatball, and pretty greasy. Puny, white bread buns surrounded them. Fries were cold and tasteless. Will try this place again in a couple of months...see if they improved.
My friend and I have eaten at pretty much every restaurant in Eden Prairie and surrounding. This was by far the worst on service. The place is beautiful. They had a great musician playing that night. The hostess was spectacular.. She was super friendly and cordial. Unfortunately we got the sort end of the straw on servers.
When she finally got to our table. She asked what we'd like to drink in a very short, rushed statement. The few times we had to interact with her were very short and unfriendly.. We actually learned more about the menu and specials from another server that was waiting on tables near us. We never actually learned the name of our server until we saw our receipt.
We had been sitting on drinks that were more than half empty and we would've loved to be able to have another drink. When the server came back to us we were going to ask for another drink but she gave us the bill instead and said whenever you're ready to pay, no rush. Then she rushed off before we could get a word in. The restaurant was busy but not to the point where a server would be overwhelmed.
Really unless you get lucky and get another server I would steer clear of this place as there are other restaurants with much better service. The food is good. The portions are not great.
Stopped in to Piper's for dinner with on New Year's Eve. Happy to say that unlike others, we found the service to be prompt and attentive. We were greeted promptly after being seated, and had drinks within the first 5-10 minutes. Our drink selections included the EP-politan (very good), Cran-Moji (very good), Moscow Mule (good) and Dirty Goose (fair - small pour and not well made). Our appetizer was the Pepperjack Spinach Dip, which was a bit salty for my taste, but the others thought it was good (note - the appetizer was delivered quickly and in plenty of time for us to finish it before our dinner). For our main course we all had burgers...well, it is a burger bar after all. Dinner selections were the Classic Cheeseburger (good), the Whistlestop (good) and the Republic of California (excellent). The burgers were all prepared as ordered, and were fairly large in size. On the evening that we dined, they had live music...a woman playing the guitar and singing. While the song selection was not necessarily in my preferred genre, the woman was quite good, and the volume was at a level that allowed for casual conversation. All in all, a very good experience. We'll definitely be back.
I ordered a Southern Comfort Old Fashion, and they were out of cherries and tried to give me something besides Southern Comfort without telling me. LOL. Like I wouldn't know. I ordered a beer instead. The bruschetta was messy and the crustini breads were not sliced evenly. They were thick and tasted stale instead of toasted but, the balsamic was really good. The fries were soggy but were served in a cute small metal fry container. The patty in my burger was delicious once I took out the fist size cucumber that was in it. It was also missing the aioli that was promised on it but the fried carrots on my burger gave a crunch and mixed well with the jalapenos on the burger.
The lady with the guitar sang beautifully. It was at the perfect volume.
I would come back for a beer, burger, coffee or wine. This place seems the perfect little place to eat a decent burger, study, read, or have a long talk with a good friend. I would come back just for that!
Service was fairly decent, but food was just okay. We ordered edemame for an appetizer and came somewhat cold. I commented to the server and he asked ME what he should do. I explained that perhaps they could be re- steamed, so he took them back. I ordered the chicken ceasar salad which was drenched in dressing (a little too much for my liking). My mother ordered the hamburger and said it was good. Wine selection was decent, too. I'd like to try the breakfast, but when asked to look at the menu, evidently they don't have one printed and it just gets written on the board. That's a little inconvenient for picky eaters that like to decide before coming if there is something worth coming for. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.
Server needs training. Simply placed the bottle of wine on the table. Did not open it or offer a tasting. Conversation was abrupt and not friendly. Only redeeming quality: the burgers ordered (all different) were excellent!
When we arrived at 6:00pm we were seated quickly and our server came with menus and asked if we wanted beverages. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer. The staff were very nice and friendly, and helpful. When our appetizer arrived we ordered our dinner. It took nearly an hour to get our food. And, we had another place to be at 8:00. We asked someone to check on our food order and they brought my wife's entre out. Mine took another five minutes. It was after 7:30 when our food arrived and we had to stuff it down and head out. I had read some other reviews that said similar things but I didn't really expect it to take THAT long. We liked everything else about the Pipers, though, so we will probably go back, but not on a night when we have somewhere else to be. We really liked the quiet atmosphere. We could actually hear each other without shouting. We saw only one TV and the volume was way down so that was great as well. (I'm not sure why every bar/restaurant feels they need to have TVs - they just add to the noise and are distracting from good conversation.)
My meal was cold. The steak was over cooked and they couldn't bring me another one because they didn't have anymore. Took $3 off the bill. I had to ask them for a bigger discount. They ending up taking half off a meal I couldn't eat. Potatoes and veggies were cold steak was well done. I ordered it rare.
