About
Try a thin-crust pizza with spicy salami or sauteed mixed mushrooms, a white pizza, a pizza Napolitano and more at Piola. After your whole crew has had their fill, don't forget to take a peek at the dessert menu, which includes our homemade tiramisu or profiteroles.
Terrible! Food is not good, restaurant very dirty, understaffed service. Chicken was hard, tasted microwaved. Pasta sauce has no depth. Table and floor very dirty with dirt, paper, gummy worms, debris. One waitress working while rest of staff chatted with each other. Definitely will never go again. Gross.
It was just slow and loud and for the cost of the food it wasn’t worth it.
Had a table waiting for us and the service was spot on. We will be going back soon.
It was not busy on a Saturday afternoon. The food was good and our service was good. I'd certainly visit this place again.
Valentines
Food is excellent. We were late but called. The restaurant was very accommodating & had our table ready, even tho' it was Friday evening on Valentine's Day. Hostess & wait staff were very friendly & provided great service. There were families, as well as couples and people of all ages. The biggest disadvantage is parking, if you are coming via car. We parked at free parking garage next to the nearby Harris Teeter but even that was fairly full. It takes patience to find a parking space near the restaurant. This would be great location for people able to walk to it. For those driving in from other parts of the Triangle (like me), I recommend not going on a Friday or Saturday evening.
It was a great place. The service was a bit slow, but it was packed being Valentine’s Day.
As always the food was tremendous at Piola. Wood fired pizzas are great and they will always work with you on dietary restrictions. They made a cheeseless pizza for my wife. Pasta specials were wonderful as usual and apps were great too. Oh, and always a nice selection of NC craft beers.
Food good service slow
We waited 15 mins for a server even after asking the hostess to send someone over then we left. We'll never go here again.
Good time night family friends come
Food is average, slightly over priced for what it is. The neighborhood it’s in is great and provides for additional entertainment options before or after dinner.
Service is terrible. I’ve eaten here a few times now and it’s always slow, servers never really seem like they know what’s going on or remember they have a table.
My husband and I did a quick dinner before the Friday Night Tribute band series. We both ordered a personal pizza and shared. They were both outstanding. Our waitress was attentive and brought refills without being asked. Service was timely and we made it to the show on time!!
our pizza was ice cold when served. We also waited forever for it:). Server tried and was nice but they do not have enough staff. It was busy when we were seated but it cleared out quickly and we got to look at a sea of dirty tables for the next 30 minutes. With so many good options out there why spend money here and be disappointed.
Piola was okay. We did not have a bad experience - there just wasn't anything I was super impressed with. The pizza wasn't better than anything I have tried before and with each personal pizza over $15 each - the price didn't seem worth the food. My pizza had only mushrooms and prosciutto. You would expect it to be completely covering the pizza, but it had one slice of prosciutto and maybe 2-3 mushrooms. The restaurant was completely dead at 7:30PM on a Saturday night which made us nervous. The waitress was extremely nice and great at her job - I just was disappointed in the atmosphere and lackluster pizza.
Service was horrible. It took 10 minutes after seated to get waited on. They messed up my dates dish and took it to remake only to bring the wrong thing again.
The pizza was just OK. We ordered 3 kinds.
Eggplant, 3 cheese and sausage. The crust was good, but the toppings were nothing special.
The food was fantastic, however, would prefer the staff to have some type of uniform or more appropriate clothing and not short shorts.
We had a lovely Mother's day dinner at Piola. None of us had been there before. Would definitely go back again.
Food and service excellent.
Don’t go here if you’re expecting a nice upscale Italian pizzeria
First time there great food good size portions and good value
Glad you enjoyed!
Food came out fast and service was great. The server helped us get in and out of the restaurant and made our movie with lots of time to spare. Great food and service!
Thanks for the review!
Food was delicious and the service was great! We will definitely be back!
Food was sub par. Stopped by this past Sunday while in town on business. No ambiance whatsoever...more like a cafeteria setting with waitstaff watching the sports on the TV monitors with the noisy obnoxious drunks at the bar, rather than helping the dinner patrons...if I wanted to feel like I was at Buffalo Wild Wings on game day, I would have gone there.
Dinner with family of diverse eaters(vegetarian, diabetic, and teenager) can be challenging but Piola exceeded expectations. Vegetarian loved the soup and salad options and teenager devoured the delicious pizza. Prices are reasonable and atmosphere was family friendly.
Excelent place to meet with friends and have a nice time together. The location is excelent. Definitely I recomend the place.
Incredible food.
No wait, good food, good service. Go eat here. Good for family or date night.
Upgraded pizza place. Lots of menu choices that all sounded good. We were happy with what we picked , although when it says "chicken roll" and it comes sliced, it doesn't have quite the same appeal.
Delicious, authentic Italian food!! The gnocchi legnano is my absolute favourite! Very friendly and accommodating staff.
I have been at Piola on other occasions , but this time despite having made reservations a week in advance for a group of (6) we had to wait a long time to be seated. It was a Friday at noon and not a full restaurant and still service was slow as ever.
We had mentioned in the reservation notes that we would be celebrating a birthday and that we had chosen Piola because the birthday girl loves it ! Well, we did not even get a question weather we wanted a dessert for the birthday or at all for that matter. We had to request refills several times ( drinks and water) because glasses went empty for a while ... also by t he time our food was actually on our table we were THE ONLY party left in the entire restaurant , so I just can't figure out why no one really cared about serving us. Everyone in our party left really disappointed .
Nothing special - just a neighborhood pizza parlor
.
This was our first time try Piola. Cozy place but nice contemporary decor.
Service was great I love that half price for glass or bottle wine.
Pizza was amazing.
I had a salad with chicken which was very good! My daughter is a picky eater and thought her pepperoni pizza was delicious! Great selection of desserts! Great beer and wine selection!
I recently went to Piola for a girls night out with 8 of my friends. We had a wonderful time. I love that the menu offers a little something for everyone. There are also gluten free options. I also eat here with my family family often as well. Their sauce is amazing. I love the pasta dishes I've tried. Next up is the pizza.
We had a wonderful first experience with our 4 year old at Piola. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather and received our food within about 15 minutes of ordering----it was FAST.
Our young gentleman server was personable, prompt, and won the heart of our daughter with a long bendy straw that he turned into a heart for her.
Thanks Piola Raleigh!
Find another place this was a horrible meal and our server was mor interested in talking to her friends than waiting on our table. The food was fine, standard chain restaurant fare which would have been okay, maybe 3 stars if the waitress had ever returned to check on us. We had to chase her down for water, wine, we skipped dessert which sh never offered and had to get the hostess to bring our check. The restaurant was empty on a Saturday night which should have been our first clue.
Really enjoyed lunch here the other day. The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. One of the party asked for a substitution, but that wasn't a problem at all - the server was very nice, and accommodating. It was a late lunch, so it was quiet, but it is definitely a place to keep in mind for next time. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
I come here every so often with my neighbor for lunch, but this was my first time for dinner. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the pizza and overall atmosphere. It was a little crowded, but all was well! Thanks Piola!
We've been 4 times to Piola and haven't been disappointed. Piola stands out as a great family spot in that the food is great and the kids are fully satisfied with going. Between the coloring page, watching the pizza chefs, and the colorful decor - they have no complaints while waiting for the food.
The pizza toppings are fresh and tasty, never overloaded - just the right amount. The gnocchi is fantastic - all you can eat the 29th of each month. Prices are reasonable. Waitstaff are friendly and seem happy to be there.
