The food is exceptional, especially the anchovy with potato salad on a baguette, the octopus and the flourless chocolate cake. The service was wonderful, and the price very reasonable. A little noisy inside and too brightly lit. Perhaps they can add sound tiles when they remodel in the near future. They are expanding into the place next door.
A little on the loud side but overall OK. We did not mind the counter but preferred a table. Tables are hard to get unless reserved well in advance. Wine recommended by the waitress was perfect. Food fabulous! Service was fine. If you love octopus as much as I do, only two places for you, PintxoPote and Roy's at Spanish Bay.
I highly recommend this place.
Terrific food from wonderful people
Food is amazing! Wine list is focused and thoughtful. Hector, Angie, Jean Charles, Christina and Juan Carlos are great. Blanca and Hector in the kitchen are quite a team. Highly recommend!
Great little place with unique dishes. A familiar tapas style with basque influences. Enjoyed the octopus dish, which is their staple. Definitely want to return to try additional menu options. Staff also engaging and friendly, even on a busy night.
My partner and I went to this restaurant last night, and it was amazing. The food (especially the ham and cheese platters) were out of this world. I especially loved the grilled goat cheese, and my partner loved the abalone mushrooms. The noise level is high, as the place is pretty small. But the service is good, with everyone working there ensuring that each table is getting seen to. Make sure to sit at the bar, it looks like the "place" to be. You will need a reservation, as the place is small, but SO worth it. Will be going back!
interesting food options; nice service, nice ambience. music was a bit too loud for me.
Amazing hosts, amazing food - the best discovery of 2019!
Amazing food, wonderful wine list, and incredible service! This was an absolute joy for a New Year's Eve!
Absolutely delicious. Chef Hector has his heart in this. Every dish is an art, and the combination of favors is superb! Attentive service too!
Just great! Very friendly owners and amazing food. Always a highlight!
To my friends and I, the food was not exactly what we were expecting. We ordered around 6 or more small plates and really only liked a couple of them. Each plate was small and expensive for what you got.
We were not really that thrilled with this restaurant
As always, a wonderful experience.
AMAZING. Wonderful food, outstanding service. Can't wait to see the expansion. What a gem.
Cute tapas bar with very nice staff. Food is very good and changes. Nice selection of Spanish wines. Be aware that portions tend to be small, so even though item prices are not bad, it will not be an inexpensive evening. : -)
This place is amazing!!! It is a French Basque tapas eatery. Charles will explain all the dishes to you, recommend what to get, and give you instructions how to eat them. The whole point of this place is delicious fresh flavors that work well together. The name might sound like a bad word in Mexican Spanish but it means tapas (Pintxo) and drink (Pote), or so I was lead to believe. The Spanish wines we had were fabulous! It’s a small restaurant, mostly bar seating or two tops. If you’re going with a group of 4? make a reservation. It’s not a good place for big groups or any group bigger than
4, really. It’s in a strip mall, but it’s a Los Gatos strip mall, so it’s upscale. The decor is lovely. Don’t miss the cod fritters, white sardines, and tortilla (omelette) with mushrooms and chorizo. I don’t remember the name of the dessert we had (like a custardy thing with ice cream) but it was absolutely to die for!
Great find in Los Gatos - not a lot of Spanish restaurants in the Bay Area and this is a great one , worth a drive. Steak was to die for ! Hector has a passion for his food and this really comes across - good Spanish wine list too- reservations are a must - Tesla chargers behind the restaurant !
Delicious tapas but some overpriced as one would expect due to Los Gatos location (e.g. small bread slice with tomato sauce on it for $9). Bar seating is enjoyable!
Decent food and drinks! Felt a little disorganized at times. Super friendly staff, though.
Loved it—will be back!
Great food! Since this review must be 50 characters, I will repeat, great food.
Our first visit, and it was a great experience - very congenial, knowledgeable and attentive staff! Everything we ordered was tasty - we had the shrimp, octopus, scallops, anchovy/tuna dish and bread pudding. A fun, festive atmosphere - I recommend it!
A fun, tasty place with great energy and wonderful food. The minimal staff work hard in the small space, and some patience may be needed if they are busy, they are knowledgeable and passionate about their cooking and service. One of the best meals this year. Highly recommend!!
This is the real deal - authentic dishes, super-high quality ingredients, and flawless preparation. We sat at the bar and the staff was charming, attentive, and passionate about what they do. The time we spent there just flew by so quickly - but we left with lasting smiles and thinking about what to try next time we dine there.
A completely enjoyable dining experience with wonderful flavors and options that make you feel like you are not in the Bay Area.
A hidden gem. Food absolutely amazing and the services was spectacular.
Substandard food and overpriced. The tuna tasted as if it just came from a can from Costco. The scallops are cooked to the right temperature but are bland. The meatballs are OK but nothing special. The chorizo with the garbanzo beans are mediocre. The two tortillas we tried are good, especially the one with the onions and potatoes. Stay away from the shrimp with the quail egg because it is bland and nothing special. Don’t waste your money on this restaurant.
Best tapas in the Bay Area. Highly recommend for either social gathering or date night.
Pinxto Pote is a gem in Los Gatos
It’s a family owned place that has consistently great food and service. We have been coming for years.
The crowd pleaser is likely the patatas with egg and ham, but definitely try the octopus and the tuna skewers. The albondigas are amazing too
It’s even easy to get parking. Great place
Friendly and attentive staff along with delicious authentic menu!
My family and I had an absolutely amazing experience. From the time we walked in to when we left. It feels and runs like a family owned restaurant. We received personal attention and service of Chef Hector who is very passionate about his food, his wife and Bianca and Carlos the servers. We don’t have any dietary restrictions so we let Chef Hector decide what we were going to eat and he even paired the wines for us. We loved every dish but I will specifically mention the must eat brocheta de gambas, huevo con jamon, queso de cabra a la plancha, tortilla de patata and for dessert torrija caramelizada. The only thing that was a let down was that my boys love steaks and they had run out of it. We will definitely be going there again and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food.
Table for four was situated next to table for 6-8 noisy party. Not conducive for conversation. We had to drink a lot to get just as loud.
Friendly service, unique food, and an intimate dining environment. We'll be back.
We were very much reminded of the Pintxtos bars in the Basque Country of northern Spain by both the ambiance and the food. Presentation was quite good, and only limited by the limited local ingredients. We are definitely returning for another experience with a friend!
So delicious. Love when the proprietor is excited about the food and the cooking method.
First, let me say that the food was amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious. We were three people, of whom two had a couple of glasses of wine ($16-$22 per glass) and the remaining person just had one glass. Our bill was close to $200 for tapas and 5 glasses of wine. The experience was less than stellar, because we felt rushed to order and as if the staff was trying to push us to order additional food before we were ready. The final thing that made us realize that despite delicious food, we would not return, was when we asked them to split the credit cards in a way that reflected that one person only had one glass of wine. We didn't want her to pay more than her share and we figured out the amount for each, so that it would have been simple. But they stated "they couldn't do that!" I don't think the experience rated high on the customer service scale and it is for this reason that I wouldn't go back or recommend this restaurant.
Our first experience at this restaurant and we will definitely return! Our waiter made excellent recommendations for food and wine... I actually tried octopus and it was wonderful!! The small
Plates were the perfect size for two people to share. Excellent !!
Amazing service with wonderfully delicious food! See you again soon! :)
Amazing food. Favorite tapas restaurant now. Everything is served fresh and delicious.
