PinPoint
Located in Wilmington, NC, PinPoint Restaurant serves food deeply rooted in Southern tradition and foodways. Chef Dean Neff’s menu changes daily and features local seasonal offerings from Wilmington’s farmers, fishermen, oystermen, and crabbers as much as possible.
I think their food is simply impeccable. The creativity of ingredients is thoughtful. One of the best restaurants in town.
The food was fantastic. Our server was very helpful. We were very pleased with the wine selection. Highly recommend. The steak and short ribs were fantastic
Food was great. Service was good. Noise was extremely loud and it was only half full.
It was so noisy! We have been to Pin Point before and always enjoy the food. OMG- It was so noisy that our friends commented on it. We all enjoyed our food and the terrific service. We will return - just not on a Thursday night!
Glad we tried Pinpoint. The food was really good. Enjoyed and will be back
We are senior foodies who enjoy good fresh food prepared well and with a different twist. We have never been disappointed and look forward to our next visit.
We were disappointed with our greeting by the host. We arrived at 6:52 for our 7pm reservation and were told we had to wait until 7 to be seated. However our table was clean and available when we arrived as were 2 other tables. Thus, we waited 8 minutes for no obvious reason and no explanation except that we arrived 8 minutes early. Fortunately, the food was excellent!
Can be very loud on weekends but weekday dinners are relaxed with superb and knowledgeable service, excellent wine, and amazing food. As good as any restaurant in NYC, Boston, Chicago, or LA.
I wanted to take my husband out for dinner at a restaurant we hadn’t dined at yet. After looking at the menu and seeing the raw oysters listed I knew it was going to be a great place. The octopus and shrimp wrap appetizer was outstanding.
From start to finish we loved every dish and drink. Our service was fantastic. We can’t wait to return!
great food, great service! terrific vibe and always top shelf.
Wonderful evening with great food and an attentive staff. We will definitely dine here again.
The only negative thing to say about our dinner is that is rather noisy due to the openness and high ceiling. Food was delicious from start to finish. We started with the backed oysters, wonderful, and I am not a big oyster fan. The salad was fantastic and the entrees even better. I had the Triggerfish special and my husband the rib and flank steak dinner! Highly recommend, although there is a limited menu!
Pin Point is a nice casual, not fancy, restaurant with excellent food and service. Although the building was a bit musty, which sort of fits its age, it made up for this in food preparation and quality.
Wonderful combinations of flavors. Trigger fish was phenomenal.
HARD WOOD CHAIR SEAT WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.
VERY NOISY, SO MUCH THAT IT WAS INTERFERING WITH 2 HOURS OF CONVERSING WITH MY DATE.
GREAT DELICIOUS MEAL
VERY GOOD SERVICE
IMHO it doesn't get any better! As always, food and service were lovely and continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in the entire area. Our waitress was a gem with a charming personality and attentive without being over-bearing. My wife had the pork shoulder and when she mentioned to owner/host Jeff how much she enjoyed it he gave her a detailed description of how to prepare it at home! We'll be back again and again.
Great appetizers, delicious entrees, superior service
We always enjoy dining at Pinpoint
I've been to PinPoint on a number of occasions and the food is excellent and very creative. Best chicken liver moose I've ever had! The service is always good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was good but not as great as the first time I ate there. That time was “the best food we ever had”. So, I had higher expectations this time. But, it was still really good. I loved the 1/2 price wine night and oysters.
Pinpoint serves outstanding food - nothing less. Everything is fresh and made to order. Service is impeccable, understated and observant. Our waitress, Jessica, noticed I wasn’t eating the bread that came with the hummus, and offered fresh veg crudités. I was expecting a few carrot sticks, but no, a glorious selection of asparagus, red peppers and fresh peeled baby carrots, tops still attached came forth from the kitchen. All servers seemed willing to help each other out and cooperate. Wilmington is usually balmy, so my only “ding” on atmosphere comes from being seated near the door on a blustery night. Decor is understated and classy, with original art provided by a local gallery and what appears to be original architectural features. This is a phenomenal find!
Have yet to be disappointed every time! I'd highly recommend the catfish
Great food and service. Unfortunately we were seated near the front door and exposed to several groups of customers who opened the door and held it open until we asked them to close it. The ambience of our dinner was diminished by the rushes of cold air and the noise of entering and leaving customers. The two front tables could be transformed into a seating area and moved elsewhere. Otherwise a wonderful experience.
Our server Don was outstanding as was every bite and sip!
We came from Boston . tried this place and liked it so much we went back the next night!
We were there to celebrate a friend's retirement. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The ambiance was great. It was quiet enough that all 7 of us could talk across the table. The menu is very interesting. I love the variety of creative dishes. Everyone loved their food! We will absolutely go back as a group or just my husband and I as a couple. You can't beat the location either.
Delicious food. Have been to PinPoint for brunch and dinner. Best in Wilmington. My favorite restaurant.
Brunch: excellent service
The food and service was very good. Rustic atmosphere, quite loud the night we were there.
Wonderful food, service and ambiance. All food is local and delicious! Great place for date night or a special occasion.
Great food, service and ambiance.
Love this place. My husband who is gluten free loves their in house made crackers. Our food was fabulous and so was the staff. Can’t wait to go back.
This was a brilliant experience with notable food and wine choices that tasted as good as described. We highly recommend the catfish over the grits. The service was excellent and it was overall a super value!
Thank you to all of the staff, just made the experience outstanding!
Very accommodating for my schedule. Many Thanks.
Above average food and service. One of Wilmington’s best restaurants.
My only negative is that we had a table by the front window and door with a bit cold for the ladies. next time we'll ask for a table away from the door. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Everything is friendly, top notch and buttoned up. Food selection is limited but everything on the menu is well presented and tasty.
Outstanding local food and awesome service! Highly recommend!
Wow, that was one of if not the best meal I’ve had in North Carolina. It was perfect.
Food and service was great! Will definitely dine there again.
Southern Living Nailed it! one of the South's Best up and coming restaurant! Would definitely dine there again. Great place to impress date!
