The food took an hour and a half to
Arrive and the food tasted like it had been under a heat lamp for 30 minutes. There is no way a chef looked at our food. It was a bad experience. I’m Embarrassed for them.
Service was fabulous. Love the local artists work on the walls. The food was presented as art itself.
Loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the service was outstanding. The food and wine selections were just right and my husband and I will definitely be back.
One diner had the New York strip and said it was the best steak he had ever eaten.
We ordered the squash Caesar appetizer and loved this unusual item.
The deviled egg appetizer was good, but amount of crackers that came with it was skimpy.
The hog fish was very good. Nice sides with it,
So good! Can’t wait to go back!!
I cannot say enough about this wonderful establishment, my only complaint is it was my first time there and they’ve been there I might be going to Wilmington for years! Everything from them honoring my Reservations request To sit at the bar, to the friendliness and knowledge of the bar staff, to the food presentation, and just the overall genuineness of the entire staff made it A magnificent evening!. I was dining alone but I didn’t feel alone at all… LOL! I live in Raleigh but I will come back just to eat Here again, can’t wait to bring friends and family with me next time!
Excellent food from start to finish. Service was outstanding!
Pinpoint is a very nice, intimate restaurant. The menu focuses on a smaller number of well prepared and very tasty dishes. We sampled the local lettuces, butternut squash Caesar salad, and octopus appetizers. For dinner, we have the fried chicken and the snapper. All excellent choices! We would definitely dine there again.
We had an early dinner to celebrate my birthday before heading to a concert downtown. The service was wonderful. The staff even took the time to make a handwritten birthday card for the table and served us a complimentary glass of sparkling rose to start. The food was phenomenal, especially the red snapper entree. We also had the oysters on the half shell and the beef carpaccio to start, and finished the meal with a decadent chocolate dessert. All were very tasty.
An absolutely amazing dinner while visiting Wilmington. From the sommelier who was also our waiter through the menu description in full detail, we felt like we were his only table. The beef carpaccio appetizer was the best I’ve ever had. Our entrees were wonderful, too. Stellar wine. This is a must dine when in Wilmington.
From start to finish everything exceeded our expectations. All of the seafood was fresh and prepared in a flavorful meal. The anchovy appetizer was excellent — the best we have had in the States. The service we exceptional. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area.
Absolutely phenomenal start to finish. It felt like we were the only people in the whole restaurant. Jeff, Luis and the whole crew have cultivated a level of sophistication hospitality that make you feel like royalty as soon as you walk through the doors.
This restaurant has been one of our top favorites even before we move here. Inventive cocktails and if you’re looking for an old favorite they will mix it up perfectly. One of the best restaurant experiences in Wilmington!
Food and service was great
One of the best meals I've had in a while; service excellent/prompt.
We had the most incredible dining experience last night at Pin Point. Not sure why this restaurant has not been on our radar but it is now and if you are a foodie it should be top of your list. Chef menu was spectacular and every dish a wonderful combination of flavor and textures. Equally spectacular was the personalized service we received from Louis our waiter. Unmatched dining experience in Wilmington! Seabirds has nothing on Pin Point folks!
Outstanding as usual, food and service. We always enjoy the experience there.
Food was outstanding. The baked oysters were outstanding. Hogfish was amazing as was the fried chicken.
Always great experience the Caesar salad twist was delicious
Menu is pretty limited. The food items were well prepared.
Simply excellent in every way! Delicious food, quick and fun service with perfect recommendations, and a great atmosphere.
This is one of Wilmington’s upscale restaurants downtown. We haven’t been eating out much because of the social distancing issue and we were a bit surprised that the tables are still a bit too close together however we decided to stay so that’s on us. We would not go back unless we knew they had spaced the tables out better. When we arrived they had a birthday sign on the table for my husband which was a surprise in itself. Next they brought us complimentary sparkling rose. Again, this was a nice touch. For an appetizer we had the deconstructed deviled egg dish which was delicious! For dinner my husband had the pork chop...amazing!! We highly recommend this dish if they are offering it. Again, the only issue was we had to wait over 30 minutes for our mains to arrive. The kitchen seemed very slow so make sure you have a snack before you go! My dish was a gnocchi that had way to much star anise and nutmeg in it. It overpowered the dish and it literally tasted like Christmas potpourri. It was not our cup of tea AT ALL.
So the take aways are: Positive- Our waitress was great, did a good job highlighting my husbands birthday, pork chops & apps
Negatives-gnocchi, wait time in between dishes, spacing between diners
The setting, food, and service was incredible. I highly recommend PinPoint to anyone looking for a top notch dining experience!
Absolutely incredible - every dish I had was fantastic, unique, creative, and packed with flavor. Even the table bread was probably the best bread I’ve ever had! I would come back to Wilmington just for this restaurant!
My fiancée and I went to PinPoint for a date night and we were thoroughly pleased, best dining experience we’ve had in years. The food and service were outstanding, highly recommend this restaurant for a special night out.
My spouse and I went to Wilmington for a short beach getaway and ate at PinPoint on a Saturday night (8-21-2021). Food and service was top notch. Menu changes constantly to ensure the best food on any given day.
Raw oysters and charcuterie plate were appetizers. Oysters were some of the freshest and tasty we've had during the pandemic. One cheese on the plate was a little over ripe but everything else was very nice.
We had the Cobia special and the Prime Beef Sugo for our main entrees. Cobia was cooked perfectly and sides complemented it nicely. The Sugo was also excellent.
Wine list had some great choices and the French red picked for us went well with the cheese plate and the Sugo.
Gave 4 stars for ambiance since it was a little loud for the number of people in the restaurant. It would be extremely hard to hear someone at your table if this was pre-pandemic.
Will definitely be going here again.
Because the menu changes regularly due to the availability of FRESH ingredients, it's hard to summarize the dinner choices. The "online" menu was different from the menu we had last evening. However, the 4 of us were EXTREMELY pleased with our choices. I would list them, but they may not be available when you visit. IMHO, it is definitely a "go to" restaurant. We will definitely be going back!
First time going to Ponpoint and it won’t be our last. Food is exceptional as well as the service. This is high end cuisine with generous portions.
The room is extremely noisy. It was difficult to hear the waiter as well as the companions at the table.
There was no green salad option which was very disappointing.
The food was excellent. They keep the temperature at subzero so next time I’ll bring a sweater—brrrr…
Food was excellent as always, great ambiance and very friendly but the service was extraordinarily slow. We almost left to go get some wings because we were starving. We were seated at 7:06 and got our main course at 8:53.
Excellent service, drinks and food. Pinpoint never disappoints!
The food was too esoteric for our tastes. My wife's NY Strip was more like tiny misshapen meatballs buried in several unidentifiable vegetable items that she didn't like. Maybe that was just her. My pan seared flounder was good except for the bed of greens (kale?) that was extremely salty. Portions were a good size, if you are into that. The deviled egg dip was good, but the rye crackers accompanying it were too few and too small to allow us to use up the dip. We had to resort to forks.
Our first time at this restaurant, it was recommended by our bartender. We would also recommend it!
Anniversary dinner. We were greeted by complimentary champagne it definitely set the tone for a marvelous experience. Each menu item we chose was simply outstanding as was the service. All things considered, it made for a delightful evening.
Great atmosphere, attentive and personable staff, excellent food.
Outstanding meal. Oysters were briny, fresh, delicious. Cooked oysters with bacon and peppers were simply wonderful. My ribeye was sooooo flavorful. The porkchop was double cut and delicious. And the recommended Amarone was superb. Highly recommended and will return!
Over priced and over rated all I can say about it.
Have visited multiple times. Food is always excellent. Service is great
Great staff and food. Great night and place for an anniversary dinner
