Serving authentic Italian comfort food, Pinocchio Restaurant is known for its excellent waitstaff, speedy delivery, comfortable atmosphere and occasional live music. Elegant enough for a romantic date, but with food to please the whole family, this spot is a must for anyone who wants a taste of Italian food in the Big Apple.
Excellent food and nice ambience. Sadly the day we were dining there were a group of four people that overlooked there were other tables of people. The group of four were so loud and disrespectful to one another, carrying on and making inappropriate comments. It took away from the quiet and potentially intimate ambience the night could have been. Hopefully, this was an isolated incident. What is the world coming to!
Small but intimate. Food was fantastic and service was outstanding.
Excellent food. Quiet. Nice atmosphere. Small neighborhood restaurant. Highly recommend. Veal was excellent
Holiday weekend, quiet night. Good service, VG chicken, tiramisu was avg.
We miss the opera music. Used to go here years ago.
This is a good restaurant, and I am only downgrading it a bit in comparison to what it was. The restaurant has a new owner, and they are working to make it a more professional (viable?) business. But in doing this, something is lost both in the ambience and in the food. I don't know if the chef is different, but the food is more straightforward. The ambience is less cozy; at one point pop music was playing. I came with some foodies, and we all agreed that this now fails to distinguish itself from the many Italian restaurants in NYC that serve similar dishes. The old version of the restaurant felt like one was in a small town in Italy: cozy, subdued lighting, and a waiter who would remember your name and was genuinely happy to see you. Pinocchio is not that now (the waiter was fine) and I wish them well but will look elsewhere for a magical experience.
This is an excellent neighborhood restaurant that serves very good food, has warm and attentive service even on a very busy night, and low or little music. My friend and I were very happy. I went there twice in the last week, once on a very busy night and once during the week. Both times were excellent.
This is a lovely small restaurant reminiscent of a restaurant in Italy. Service was very personal and well timed. The restaurant has an intimate ambiance that makes it somewhat romantic. Our meal on the price fix menu was perfectly prepared and very good value. The complimentary glass of port at the end of dinner was a lovely touch. I would definitely return to this “find”!!
Good neighborhood place with pleasant atmosphere. We enjoyed our meals, especially the dessert.
This place was amazing. The food was incredibly authentic. Loved it.
Great food, wish they had a better wine selection.
Not much to choose from and no bottles offered at the table.
Excellent food with great service
We've eaten her before but spending our anniversary was special. We were treated really well and felt very special. Food was excellent.
Great food, service and value. Will definitely return.
Lovely staff, felt like giving them a hug when leaving.
Exceptional service! Delicious food. Good prices. Couldn’t have been happier with our meal. Can’t wait to go back!! :) 👍🏼👍🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🍷🍝🤤
Truly a neighborhood gem, small unpretentious and delicious. Our waiter was very attentive. I had the house red Italian with my meal and it also was perfect. This is the first review I’ve ever written on opentable, just felt I had to do it. Hard to find a local hole in the wall superstar. This was it.
Visited during Valentine’s Day, food was amazing drink as well. Very intimate place. Great for any occasion. Will be returning.
It is a cute little neighborhood local restaurant. The lentil soup was great.
New ownership's doing everything right. Neighborhood gem. Will return.
Service is friendly and professional. Menu is traditional Italian with interesting Specials and a great value Prix Fixe menu M-Th. Pinocchio is my "go to" bistro in the neighborhood.
Quiet spot with great attentive service. Food was good
Wonderful, cute Italian restaurant. Highly recommend for a low key meal with your hubby or when your in laws are in town.
We have been to Pinocchio twice now and it is quickly becoming our 'date night' restaurant. The staff is really nice, the food is wonderful and has that authentic feel. I'd highly recommend this restaurant.
What a wonderful meal ! This was our first time but trust me, we will return. Excellent food, intimate setting and very fair prices.
Good classic Italian food. Appreciate option to get sautéed veggies in place of pasta as side dish. Excellent service. Intimate atmosphere. Generous portions. Will return.
Live guitarist was such a nice treat. This restaurant is charming and quaint. Food was average but service and ambiance made up for it
My wife and I had not been there for several years, but were glad to see that the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance of the place have kept up, and the prices have not soared. The service continues to be excellent.
Food was fantastic as always. Will definitely be going back
Wonderful place! Food was excellent and so was the service. Great menu.
We enjoyed his restaurant greatly! The food and service was excellent and we will be back more than once!
Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, outstanding food.
A cozy, family run gem serving comforting, delicious Italian food in a warm setting featuring a mix of Italian music and an attentive waitstaff. Not "fancy", which adds to its charm. Yet there is nothing casual about the kind attention lavished on patrons. Reminds us of cozy family run gems we have visited in Rome.
Overall good experience-the antipasto was excellent-main course good and service friendly. Minor- the table next to ours 4 guests very noisy-not the fault of restaurant. I plan to go back soon.
Overall a decent spot. Our salad course took about an hour to come out due to confusion between the server and the kitchen, which set the tone for a pretty poor experience. Chicken parm was great and the shrimp & tortellini special of the evening was also good. Server was very nice, but wish she handled the confusion a bit better.
I came here with my parents for dinner on a Sunday night. This is a good neighborhood Italian restaurant for a calm meal with great service. Waitress was extremely friendly. We had the veal parmigiana, shrimp Scampi, and pasta with eggplant. I would definitely come back!
The transition to the new restaurant team has been flawless. Menu has actually been upgraded nicely. Great neighborhood destination
Nice atmosphere. Ordinary food. Nothing special. A bit pricey.
Great neighborhood Italian restaurant. Excellent service. Very good traditional menu.
Pinnochios is/was a neighborhood favorite for years - cozy setting, good food, great service. It recently changed ownership. The food is still very good and the menu has even expanded but the service needs improvement. We waited a long time on a not-very-busy night to get our drink order. Another couple eventually walked out. My guess (and hope) is they’re still working out the kinks. Food was definitely good enough to give it another try.
