Celebrating friend’s upcoming wedding.
Jerrick, our waiter, was great! The food and drinks were awesome as well. I’ll definitely be returning!
This restaurant was our dinner selection prior to a special event at the Kessler Theater.
This is a hidden GEM! Our waitress knew every ingredient of every dish. She gushed about the head chef and owner who’s preferences defined this special restaurant.
Our waitress was able to talk us through our individual likes and dislikes to help each of us select our ideal drink, appetizer, entree and desert. Our waitress also shared special drink selections and recent special additions.
We will be back and we will share our experience with friends and co workers
I’ve been when it was so much better. Couldn’t even find a spoon for my shrimp and grits.
Disappointed. The decor is tired and worn. Needs a revamp with change of seating. The paper menus deserved to be in the trash. Food was ok. Fried okra was marvelous. Full pod fried crispy and retained a wonderful taste. Cocktails were yummy. Prices are too high.
Great food and an awesome atmosphere is what brought me back for a second visit. The mimosas are very tasty and come in unique flavors. Try the biscuits and butter or the deviled eggs as a shareable. The hoecakes or the rib eye are great brunch items.
Pink Magnolia has been our favorite restaurant find since we moved to Dallas 4 years ago this past December 2019. We were checking out the Bishop Arts District when we happened upon it and have been going back again and again and absolutely love Chef Blythe Beck. We frequently take friends when they come in to town to show it off as our favorite go to restaurant. The food is nothing but spectacular, southern down home cooking with sometimes added liberties and twists. We have never had a bad meal whether dining for breakfast, Sunday Brunch or dinner.
Unfortunately this was the second time that there were issues with glasses that were delivered to the table. A few months back, I was one of the first ones at the restaurant. The dishes were not clean at all. I came back with another group for another business brunch. This time there was a bug in my drink and two of my colleagues glasses were dirty. One glass had caked on food and the other appeared to have pancake batter splattered on it.
The policy about waiting to be seated until the full party arrives makes no sense. What if someone didn’t make it to the meeting? Would we had been refused service?
Also the stools on the backside of the bar are on a slant and very unsafe. Just a heads up.
Apparently we didn’t receive the message that there was a pajama party theme on New Years Day. Most of the patrons were trashed, left over from Nee Year’s Eve and someone got my car and didn’t leave a note. Bad karma for that person to start the decade. A very disappointing experience overall.
We had a great time Jammin in our Jammies on New Years Day. The food was great, drinks were great. We will definitely be back.
I love this place, and was so happy to be able to eat there on NYE. Sadly, they were out of the wine I wanted, but we chose a nice Rose' which complemented our food. Caroline was kind and supportive, and the experience felt cozy and unpretentious. The Oysters Rockefeller were outstanding, as was all the food. This is a very special place.
The food was okay but the service from the bartender Coco made it worth the drive.
This place was suggested and it did not disappoint. I’m not a big coffee drinker, but their bourbon coffee, “Oh My!” you’ve got to try it. Very accommodating and generous portions, bring your appetite when ordering the pancakes.
Thank you so much Chef Blythe for being the constant host. I love the personal touch you bring. You are amazing. I will be back soon.
Blythe the chef was so kind to me as an out of towner. I felt totally welcome. The bartender was also super genuine. Blythe's husband also kind! I had salmon over spinach & olives & it was truly scrumptious.
Always the best experience I come every sunday!!!!
This weekend we celebrated our 30th & 36th birthdays. We started the day with brunch at Pink Magnolia. From arrival to departure everyone was so sweet, cheerful, and attendant. The fried green tomatoes were spectacular and the bday dessert was absolutely mouthwatering. Thank you!
Went for a business meeting. The food was delicious. Will definitely go back for business and personal reasons.
Celebrated my friend’s birthday here. Food, service and atmosphere were excellent! We really enjoyed ourselves and will be coming back!
What a disappointment. We got to the restaurant for our 8:00 reservation. We stood at the door for close to 10 minutes. There were two waitresses serving customers. There were quite a few empty tables. They were busy, but the staff never acknowledged us, though I know they saw us. It is a small place with bright lights and four people standing at the door would be impossible to miss. They did not make any gesture to say”we will be right with you” it is like we were invisible. If either staff has just waved we would have waited, we just felt foolish standing there.
We finally just walked out and went down the street to Bolsa, where we were greeted the minute we walked in and have a lovely meal with great service and food.
They were out of lamb chop and then the next dish we ordered. The waiter got nervous that they were out of menu items and started hovering.
Great food, ambiance and service. Hidden Gem
Everything was great we enjoyed. The lamb chops appetizer and mimosa punch was great.
Saturday brunch was amazing. Food was great. Very cute restaurant and great service.
The head chef was not there so the food took a hit! The fried green tomatoes was delicious. The biscuits were just okay and over priced. The crab dip was also a winner but the shrimp and grits left a lot to be desired and the pat roast was average at best
We had a horrible experience with the hostess. A party of three walked in ahead of me. Without even acknowledging me, the hostess went to set up their table. She was probably gone for about 10 minutes. When she returned, she asked our name and left again. Finally she told us our table had to be cleared and then we could sit. Now, the table had been empty since we walked it. After another 6 or 7 min, the table was ready but she was off seating others. After waiting to be seated about 20 min, we noticed there were two empty seats at the bar and decided to eat there. The place is small; she would have to be blind to have missed us. Yet she indicated that we were no shows for the reservation! I called in and explained what had happened. Maybe I spoke to that hostess, because she never offered an apology for the rude behavior.
I have to say the food was great as always, but there are other places we can go to get good food without being treated like that.
Always a great meal at Pink Magnolia. The service level matches the best out there.
Pink Magnolia surpassed our expectations! From appetizers to entrees to desserts; everything tasted amazing!!! I look forward to our next opportunity to dine at Pink Magnolia's!!!
I just love this place. I go at least once a week to enjoy their many delicious dishes. Not only that they provide amazing service.
Leticia was outstanding!!! I believe a server can make or break the experience. She was attentive without being invasive. She was so thoughtful and polite. We will go back again based on the whole experience.
Shrimp and Grits was delicious!!! The margaritas were yummy too!
Fabulous!! Food was great. Coffee was amazing! Bought some to take home. It was really loud so we sat in the space behind the bar. A little warm but we made the best of it!
I had high expectations for this restaurant, but it unfortunately missed the mark. Upon entry, several box fans were set up. Not sure if the A/C was on the fritz, but it certainly didn’t add to the “casual yet elegant” atmosphere that they advertise. The menus are printed on paper and affixed to a clipboard. This can be a great presentation, however all menus at the table were stained, rumpled up and looked as if they had been doused in water and dried. The drink menu literally looked like it was typed up in a google doc with no formatting, printed on hot pink computer paper, and slapped behind the regular menu as an afterthought.
The waitstaff were unkempt, and frankly a bit abrasive. Not typical of the southern charm and hospitality one would expect at an establishment so highly regarded. One person even appeared to be wearing pajama pants. Come to find out, she was the chef/owner.
The decor is nice, but the furniture had seen better days. The green chairs are in need of a serious shampoo and fresh coat of paint. The walls by the booths are also scratched up and tired. The music choose for a quiet Sunday morning was odd. They were blasting pop remixes like it was a “girls night” dance party, instead of 10:30 am Sunday brunch. Not terrible, just an odd choice.
The food was generally good. However, the presentation was seriously lacking. I had the chicken-fried ribeye stack. It was a piece of Texas toast, layered with a generous portion of chicken fried steak in need of seasoning, topped with an overcooked fried egg, and some very tasty hollandaise. There was nothing else on the massive steakhouse-style plate. No garnish, no sides, no color. Just a beige blob of food on a scratched up heavy white plate.
Overall, the restaurant is lacking in polish and attention to detail. You’ll get a decent meal here, but don’t expect the good service and outstanding food that you will get at other area establishments.
We found the food to be very bland. We thought it could have used more salt, pepper and spices. We ordered the deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes as starters and both were just bland. The green tomatoes were firm and tasty and the batter was perfect but it all just lacked taste. For dinner we had the meatloaf and the salmon. The meatloaf was okay but not really memorable. It had a very good consistency. The salmon was cooked to order and was done how I like it but it was a very thin piece, probably because I wanted it cooked well. The olive salsa on top was too salty. We had the butter cake for dessert which was absolutely delicious.
Everything was wonderful !!! We truly enjoyed it ... I did mention several times that we were celebrating a birthday and had hoped that something sweet and special would have arrived at table ...BUT no luck 😞
I have been here a few times and bring all of my friends who visit from out of town. It is my favorite restaurant for breakfast/brunch food. My friend and I enjoyed the experience immensely. The ambiance is so wonderful, the staff so friendly and the food delicious. I would go more often but I live 40 mins away! Highly recommend.
Food was amazing as always and service also on point. Chef Blythe is doing some amazing things.
Great service. Fun times!!
It was awesome and good to know it’s not too far from home!
Walked in and were the ONLY people there. Absolutely no one else.
Could smell sewage, they had a fan running right by the front door, not sure what’s going on but hope they fix whatever the problem is.
Previous experiences were great!
