The service was extremely poor here and we were shocked to learn that the restaurant has a policy to automatically assign itself a tip on bills of more than $100. Diners would be well-served with the addition of additional experienced servers & bussers but the restaurant is not inclined to do this because of its restaurant-friendly tipping system. Dirty glasses/dishes left on tables or piled up on bars. Not likely to return here are there are so many more great restaurants in DC who are on their game.
A table across from ours went un-bussed for over an hour. The manager and several different servers came to our table saying they would bring menus, water, food, etc and never returned. No communication between any employees led to terrible dining experience.
Great food. Attentive service. Excellent recommendations when we found out my go-to dish had run out.
From the start to end it was a disaster.
Service was horrible and the host was rude. We had a Groupon for 2 Prix fixe veg 3 course dinner and they didn't have the menu for that even though we have had this reservation for 4 weeks.
We got veg spring rolls ala cart and they brought for us chicken ones without any regards to our religious and dietary restrictions.
We will never return back there
Weird evening. Went to the bar to get a drink first, out of a lot of items, including everything needed to make the happy hour drink specials. Drafts beer was also not available. Only bottles of beer and wine. Sat at our table for dinner, waiting 10 mins, no server. Had to go find someone and make sure they knew we were waiting. They said they were behind/backed up, but place was only half full. They were short staffed. Food itself was good.
I was pretty disappointed with the whole experience. The food was OK but the minute we got there, all the servers seemed very stressed out despite the fact that there were maybe three tables seated at the time. Service was super slow and our server forgot to put in our order (there could have been something going wrong with the registers). I wanted the drink that they were known for with a special bud and they gave me the drink without the bud and said they had never had them though it was clearly on the menu. I would never come back here again.
One of the worst dining experiences I ever had. Avoid at all costs. It took them 20 minutes for them to seat our party of 3, even though nearly half the restaurant was empty. Took them 30 minutes for the waiter to come to our table and get us waters and take our order. Took another 45 minutes for the food to come -- and the food came before the drinks. One of the drink glasses was absolutely filthy -- old water marks and old caked-on food. The food was unappealing -- tasted old and bland. They messed up our order and gave us pork buns when we were supposed to receive a veggie bun. Overall service was terrible. We called over the manager to complain and he gave us an attitude -- told us that we were complaining in an inefficient manner; he was critiquing how we gave our critiques. He told us that he would take the dirty drink off the bill (which was $11), then told us he would make us a better deal and take 10% off the bill (which totaled $8 and a much worse deal than just taking off the drink). Then told us that he would take 20% off the bill, then said he would take all 3 drinks off the bill and then left. We were pleased with the removal of all three drinks since that would be about $40. The waiter comes back with our new bill, only to tell us that he and the manager thought about it more and only wanted to give us 15% off our original bill (... seriously). At this point we just wanted to leave so badly, we paid the 15% reduced bill and left. Absolutely horrible and I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Arrived at the restaurant and there was a sign on the door that said closed for private event, which I thought was weird since I have reservations. We were seated anyway, it took about 40 minutes before we received our drinks, the food came out at all different times, the server was inattentive, and a few items on the menu were unavailable.
Service was tremendously slow and inattentive. There were multiple menu items not available. The quality of the food was not excellent.
Went for the endless dim sum brunch, because who wouldn’t do that. Dim sum is more fusion than traditional dim sum but was tasty. The service was unbearably slow, especially waiting for the check.
This was the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. We ordered several items and would wait 30-40 mins before being told they were out. The wait staff was rude and inattentive. We were there for brunch which comes with a signature dish, 5 dim sum items, and desert. Several times our sever tried to rush us out and settle our check before we received half of the meal we had paid for and then just shrugged when we brought it up that we were still waiting for food. We spent 4 hours here (not of our own choosing) and 2/3 of that time was spent waiting for our food. It was a terrible resturant experience and their staff seemed to have no interest in help us.
Food was not good. Dim Sum was falling apart as soon as you pick it up. It was barely edible with the exception of the dessert sesame balls. The ordering process was very confusing for the brunch. The menu instructed one thing while the waitress another. We couldn't figure out how to order and it was very ad hoc. Ended up only ordering a handful of the things we wanted and some of it didn't come out. The mimosas were gimmicky and not good. You basically end up chugging cheap champagne through a giant straw with little bursts of juice that leaves a bad aftertaste because of the "bubble" capsule.
Always delicious food, with plenty of variety to choose from and share with friends. Fairly quiet at lunchtime; more lively in the evening.
After having my friend's drink replaced (there was lipstick on her glass), the server/host spilled her drink again (my friend accidentally spilled it the first time before noticing the lipstick)... I feel like their martini glasses are 'child size' in the fact that they barely hold a regular drink's worth when filled to the brim. It might be useful for the restaurant to buy bigger glasses, so that half your drink isn't lost in transit.
The tasting menu was good though, and we enjoyed ourselves. It would just have been nice to not have such a mess from the drinks and the server spilling sauces everywhere.
Service was unacceptable. Food was delicious, but overpriced for what it was.
We used to go here a lot a few years back, and thought we'd have a nice dinner there. The service was ridiculously poor, the food was even worse, when they actually brought what we ordered. We both got sick. Do not eat here.
