The Lobster Benedict is a must have! This is now my favorite brunch spot.
All agreed,in our party of four, the food was delicious.
My swordfish chop was tender and savory
However, the cocktails, vodka martini and Manhattan, were insipid, watery, and tasteless.
The servers appeared to try hard but were slow and sloppy.
As the food was delicious, we may try another meal and drink beer
Service was surly; room was ill kept. fried cauliflower - great idea but swimming in oil, rest of the food was salty. Redeeming item was grilled fish - fresh and well prepared
Overall a disappointment and won’t return
Outstanding food and service!!!
Ambiance very chic. Food delicious.
Brunch was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious and I think it may be my new go to brunch spot.
Enjoyed our happy hour $1 oysters and dinner so much went back for breakfast the next day. Best Lobster Rockefeller’s
Food okay not great.
I have eaten here quite a few times during and ordered from the Happy Hour menu s well as the regular menu. I usually love roasted brussel sprouts but they use so much minced garlic, that it was overwhelming and made my stomach upset. I recommend asking them to leave off most of the garlic.
Amazing. Food and service was great. Relaxing brunch
Too too noisy. Great Brussels sprouts and lobster with mushrooms/cream.....tender and flavorful.
Lobster bisque was too creamy with very little lobster taste. Oysters were of so so quality....came very very late.
A true neighborhood gem. Bohemian and rustic in feel, this relaxed and easy going restaurant is serious about the quality of their food. It’s just really good. The oysters were fresh and perfectly presented. The steak was well seasoned and the duck fat fries were delicious. The pan seared salmon was fully flavored and so well seasoned. The foie gras disappeared in minutes. And get the blueberry pie. Seriously. It’s great. If you like big, ever present blueberries and a crust that just loves its blueberry partner, then do it. Everyone enjoyed the meal and talked about the next visit. I would recommend they rethink their drink menu. Some interesting choices, but we all reverted to the classics. However, the drinks are passionately flavored as well, so you might love them! Go there. You won’t be disappointed.
Great happy hour menu, but the service was slow.
The food was amazing but the service was very, very slow. It was nearly an hour of sitting before we ordered food and the restaurant wasn't that happy. The server didn't seem overly concerned nor did she apologize for the delayed orders. The food and drinks were excellent, everyone in our party agreed. They just need to fix the service time before I can recommend it to a friend.
We had a party of 8 for a birthday celebration. Our server was amazing and the food was incredible. This definitely a hidden gem in Philadelphia.
Excellent service and very tasty food. We enjoyed small plates and our sever brought by he food out from lightest flavor to boldest. The scallops were the highlight but the tuna was a close second. Seating was a bit tight but the vide is great.
The place has a great vibe..service was very good..went with group of girls..food was delicious and plentiful..definitely will come back
Felt like I was a customer in the show “restaurant impossible”. The waitress was complaining about the chef in the back. The decor was outdated. Food was mediocre. Tuna was not safe to eat raw even though it was seared, oyster were chewy, and the branzino was not fresh.
Great food for Happy Hour! The October Seafood fest was a deal that can’t be beat any where. We loved the service and the atmosphere was relaxed. I love this place!
The crab cake was delish! As was the chocolate cake and key lime pie. We also had the cauliflower and brussell sprouts which were tasty. Only thing was the cauliflower was a little salty. The lobster bisque had chunks of lobster. My dining mates enjoyed the steamed mussels
We ordered the brussell sprouts and they were way to greasy, the crab cake was too salty. The waitress never refilled our water glasses and they were empty.
Great food, friendly bartender....enjoyed the happy hour music.
We would definitely recommend and would definitely return
The crabcake had a very weird chunky tomato sauce that overpowered the crab; the butter sauce for the scallops was broken; the duck fat fries were soggy; the wine was expensive ($12 / barely 5 oz.); I asked for no bacon in the arugula salad, but there were a few bits in it. The place was extremely loud with a rowdy birthday party of 8 in a very small room. The menus had a waxy cloth cover that felt like a sticky tablecloth.
I don't think I can whole-heartedly recommend Pinefish because of some inconveniences. They were out of the beer I ordered and didn't have some menu items. Our server couldn't have been nicer - friendly, attentive, and professional, but she had difficulty charging our credit cards because our table was too far from the router. The atmosphere is cute, casual and neighborhoody. My mussels in coconut sauce were great, my husband and friend really liked their seared tuna salad. My other friend enjoyed his branzino. Two of us thought the steamed clams had WAY too much garlic, and the cauliflower with anchovies was VERY anchovy-ee (two of us couldn't eat it). So, I wouldn't avoid this restaurant, but I probably won't go back.
A neighborhood gem! Unique, warm decor and delicious food. The server knew the menu and could answer every question. We will definitely return.
Stopped in for brunch and had a wonderful meal. We ordered the Eggs Benedict which I highly recommend. I had the crab cake and my boyfriend had the lobster. Both were amazing, nice portions. Will definitely go back.
Great happy hour! Still had room for entrees. Everything was Delicious!
Pinefish came recommended by our hotel and was the perfect choice before seeing Hamilton. The service was excellent and our server could not have been more attentive and friendly. We shared an appetizer of oysters and the large plate Seafood Bucatini and both were wonderful. Of course, dinner would not have been complete without desert and the Key Lime Pie was to die for. Pinefish proved an excellent choice for a wonderful night out!
We were there for Brunch. It was excellent. We actually looked at the dinner menu and we will be back there next time we are in Phili.
Had a good brunch here but dinner was different. Went for dinner tonight. The portion sizes are small even for a seafood place. The waitress was nice but the food didn't come out all at once so it was awkward for us. The Fish said "vegetable medley" as a side and it was a handful of tomatoes and capers. The lobster fixed price was ok but you maybe got 3 ounces.
The cost was expensive for what it was.
Underwhelming and overpriced. Lobster bisque tasted like butternut squash soup with lobster in it.
The reastaurant was a few blocks from the Forrest Theatre where Hamilton is playing, so it was convenient to that. The decor is decidedly "bohemian" , comfortable, but was well worn and casual in a pleasant way. If you are looking for an upscale dining experience this is not for you. The Happy Hour is a great value. Lots of great dishes with nice quantities. The regular menu featured mostly well prepared and creative seafood dishes. Everything was reasonably priced. Our waitress was pleasant and properly attentive. I'm visiting from Austin, but if I lived in downtown Philly, it would be a great "go-to" restaurant and I would be a frequent diner there.
Great little restaurant! We had theater tickets and were held up in traffic. The waitress was very helpful and our food arrived quickly. It's a quirky and bohemian atmosphere. Their prices were good for center city Philadelphia, i.e. oysters on the half shell for $1 each and drinks for $5! We'll definitely go back.
we arrived for our 6:30 reservations and the server never came to take any order so when we asked the manager who our server was she looked at the young lady that was in our section and she would not serve us. so the manager became our server. VERY DISRESPECTFUL.
When I say this place is a hole in the wall I mean a s**t hole!! Service is crap it was so loud you couldn’t hear a word. Food was sub par. Not explained clearly at all neither menu or when ordering. Took them an hr just to get some water.. never again!!!!!!!!! Plus the waitress sat there arguing with me with an attitude bc the kid dropped his burger and they didnt want to replace it. They wanted to charge me and when I asked her to put it to go bc I was tired she started saying well it takes time to cook .. I said ok and she kept arguing like why???? Its not meant for every crowd more of a new age hipster type. Decor looks like everything was picked out of curbside trash.. tables were crap chairs were crap. I have never left such a harsh review but this place was that bad.
Love the vibe of this place. Only two negatives:
1- Even though we were there at Happy Hour, our waitress did not inform us when we asked for a glass of pino grigio, that the wine was NOT part of the $5 happy hour specials, even though we were looking at that menu when we ordered. We never would have ordered two glasses each had we known the cost!
2-food is made to order and great, but every member of our group got this small plate at a different time-there must have been at least 15 minutes since the first plate was served and the last!
Everything about this little gem is outstanding. Our waitress, Sophia, was so sweet & extremely attentive. She definitely made us feel welcome. I loved the tasteful & cozy decor & the overall ambience. The food was so well seasoned and tasty. I would highly recommend Pinefish & will be back.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I went during Restaurant Week. The food was amazing. The owners were very nice. I will definitely be going back. The staff was a little rude in the beginning.
