We love the food here so we will put up with the noise.
Pinch has to be the best Chinese restaurant in the City. Totally authentic--no NY Chinese food here. Incredible dumplings (especially the chicken soup dumplings, which are in my view as good as any dumplings I had in China). The duck is among the best as well (although a notch below Decoy).
Dumplings amazing! Service amazing.
We celebrated Chinese New Year and it was fun. The restaurant was packed. There was a table of more than 20 girls in their teens for a birthday party so the restaurant was extra festive. The food is good. I recommend the pork dumplings and the pork belly. We also had the spicy halibut. It was a bit too spicy of me but friends loved it.
This is our fourth time coming to Pinch. So we really like it. The Peking duck is outstanding. We ALWAYS get it with the eggplant and the pork belly. We want to try the dumplings, which we hear rave reviews on, but we have become creatures of habit and order the same thing each time. One day we will switch it up but we are in no hurry. Pinch is a great spot. If I have one negative it has to do with the seating. If you are only a party of two and in the main dining area it can get very, very cramped as the tables are literally an inch apart from each other, which doesn't leave a lot of room. To get up from the table both you and your company have to stand up and move the table itself. But I digress. The food is fantastic and never fails. In the end I guess that is all that counts.
Food was delicious and service was attentive.
Seating was a bit crowded.
Lackluster service but good dumplings in convenient Soho location. Noise level of music way too loud and unfortunate song selection
Great food, great atmosphere.
Atmosphere is very intense. Space was so hot from the kitchen. And the receiving area / entrance is barricaded by diners waiting to be seated. The sommelier was awesome! But we were confused because he was pouring wines on all the tables like a server. The prestigious sommelier title evaporated when he did that. Food is always good.
Great spot in SOHO - neighborhood gem. Outstanding looking food. BUT, after finally getting seated at the bar, we found out that they use a “little” MSG in their cooking. My wife is allergic to MSG and we had to leave which was very disappointing. In most restaurants that use MSG, you can tell them you don’t want it and they will leave it out of your dish. But for some reason here, they CANNOT cook without it. Bummer - the looked awesom
Love it! The service was fantastic and their Somm is very knowledgeable and super accommodating to what type of wine we wanted!
Best Chinese restaurant in the city
Terrible service, rude and unprofessional staff (manager dresses in hoodie) but great food
All great. But despite the booking, we had to wait more than 30 minutes to sit in.
Energetic eatery - go with friends so you can try many dishes. Excellent drinks and food. Fair prices. Recommend the cumin ribs; I could've eaten the appetizer plate by myself. Tip: order an extra, just in case.
The bartender failed to inform us of expensive drinks that was completely ynprofessional. Definitely ask!! Good food. But beware of drink prices!
Fabulous Peking Duck and service. Somewhat expensive for the Duck but it has become our go to place for it in NYC
Overall amazing restaurant. Our waiter was very good and recommended things we were not thinking of ordering and were amazing. The bed part about the whole experience was the mean hostess. I was coming from work to meet a friend for OUR birthdays and called in advance that I was stuck in traffic and was running 15 minutes late when she told me I lost my table in the dining room and had to sit at the lounge. When I got there I had to wait 15 minutes in line just to speak to the hostess who was not nice at all and rolling her eyes at us. I was hoping to come back with my husband, but not sure I want that kind of service.
Food is excellent. The place gets noisy though.
Nice place, good service , average food. Expensive for what it is
Amazing food and service!
Food was amazing. Best Peking duck ever. They do want to charge 25.00 to serve your bday cake that you bring in though.
The pork soup dumplings, mushroom truffle dumplings, cumin ribs, peashoot sides are my favorite dishes. The other entrees (fish, lobster noodles, dan dan mien) are just OK in comparison to how good the soup dumplings are. The entrees taste overly americanized. Service is great and restaurant decor is modern and clean.
We had to wait even w rez but worth it
Food was outstanding. Dumplings were amazing. Everything was seasoned to perfection. Can’t wait to go back!
We always have a great meal here. Highly recommend the chicken soup dumplings and snow crab glass noddles. The peking duck is our favorite to share with a group if friends.
Victoria was the most kind server!! The Peking duck could have used a grease blotting before carving, but still solid. No complaints.
Great restaurant all in all, but the place my wife and I sat at was quite loud (near the front of the restaurant by the window). We were trying to celebrate a special occasion, and unfortunately it did not turn out as well as planned. That said, incredible food and service.
Very authentic Taiwanese food! LOVED IT!
We had Peking duck, which is great. We also liked all other ordered dishes, including pork soup dumplings, cumin pork, octopus.
We’ve eaten here before and liked the food, but this time the hostess was so surly that we did not stay. Sorry to have had to miss it.
Best Chinese food in NYC.
Best Chinese food preparations I have ever seen in NY. Dumplings were exceptionally fresh and delicious.
Lovely dinner at the bar which helps with the noise level. It’s a little pricey because you need a few dishes between two people but we were good with one appetizer, the eggplant, and the seafood fried rice. Super delicious and a really cute place with the small details. Second time here and I’m sure I’ll be back again.
Used to love this place... But the service has gone down big time with too much attitude from manager and hostess. They think they are Le Bernadin or some other restaurant with 3 stars. Stay away! There are so many other new Chinese restaurants now offering amazing food.
We were a table of four and had a wide sampling of Pinch's offerings. All were excellent - fresh ingredients, beautifully prepared and presented. My only menu criticism is that there are no vegetarian offerings in either the "Classics" or "Rice & Noodles" sections of the menu. Towards the end of our meal, a couple of large parties were seated and the noise level became quite uncomfortable.
Delicious!!! One of the best pork soup dumplings I’ve had, and I’ve had many. Mapo tofu another must have for me. We dine there once a week regularly. But it’s noisy when full, so we try to go during off hours, then it’s the best experience to be had:)
The peking duck was terrible. Hard to say so because we read all bunch of good articles about it. We even got sick after that. :(
All the dumplings... all of them! Wine list is amazing, well thought out and perfect for the food. Also... dumplings!!!!!!!!!
I first discovered Pinch's great happy hour where I tried the Cumin Rubbed Ribs. Superb flavor! Next I had the opportunity to try Pinch for dinner and realized why Pinch is both a popular neighborhood restaurant and take-out place. I saw a lot of families ordering the Peking Duck which they carve table side. Definitely want to order that the next time I'm there. But in the meantime we enjoyed the Steak and fried rice, pork soup dumplings, Eggplant side dish which is AMAZING and the Peking Duck Ragu with noodles. You really can't go wrong with any dish. Guaranteed you'll be back for more.
